Anima Requiem: I Bought a Katana Online and Triggered the Apocalypse Chapter 48: Countdown
Two minutes, thirty seconds left.
Serif looked heavenward and took a deep breath, he exhaled.
The mutated treen dashing towards him, arrows screaming towards him, those with hamrs dashing forward, the chain users, all of them.
Serif tilted back, an arrow passing in front of his nose, the he dashed forward, the arrows struck in the dirt in his wake, his chain spinning, whipping towards the approaching treen.
He spun, avoiding an extending vine, just like his chains, but they weren't the original thing, his chain wrapping around treen necks as he spun, the chain twisting and turning.
Serif landed, the chain looping, then holding it with his free hand, he pulled, the chain snapping, separating there heads from there bodies, black liquid spurting.
He leapt back, just in ti, avoiding arrows, he glanced at the archers, keeping there distance, shooting from afar, he had to get rid of them, but first, let's reduce your number, he turned to the board approaching.
Serif dashed forward, eting them head on, his body moving fluidly between the stickn, leaning back, parrying, he did it all smoothly, avoiding arrows which impaled the treen unlucky enough to be in his path.
The treen either didn't care about comrades only about killing him or they weren't smart enough, as he moved between them, avoiding strikes, which hit the other tree man, his chains simultaneously wrapping around there necks again.
Erging at the opposite side, he pulled again detaching there heads, thinning there number further.
Now, he turned towards the archers, and dashed forward, turning to a blur, he appeared next to one, wrapped the chain around it in a bit, and dashed forward, pulling it along, it's rotten flesh scraping on the ground, pulling off in the process.
Reaching the next archer he wrapped the chain around it again, and dashed forward, two of them dragging through the dirt behind him.
Serif repeated this a few more tis till all the archers were dragging behind him, so still complete, so just body parts, the remaining already shredded from the dragging.
Serif leapt up, high, he swung the chain upward, the remaining treen below him, and pulled down, the chain along with the remains screaming towards them, slamming into them the next second.
Serif landed and took a deep breath, he looked at his watch, two minutes left, thirty seconds to deal with them, they were tougher sure, but since they were like humans, there necks were weak, and he had experience dealing with multiple humans, sure he had to dodge the chains, and hamrs, not to ntion the archers, but they weren't as adept as the original, it was like they were learning, just swinging randomly, no he was the target but no technique.
His gaze lingered on there remains, rotten flesh everywhere, ripped vines, black liquid pooling, they should be done, or so he hoped, he turned to the do.
His eyes narrowed, the original treen were now fewer than before, Jake had dealt with so but they usually ca back, that's when he realized, they had stopped spawning.
He looked at the forest cage, eyes narrowed, sothing wasn't right, his instinct still felt sothing was off, but there was nothing, the walls made of thick dark branches and vines stood still, mundane, no it was nothing but mundane.
Just to be sure, he swung his chain at the wall, the chain bouncing back, a small gash appearing where it hit, black liquid trickling down, but it quickly sealed, healed itself.
I do hope whatever she is doing would be damn powerful, he thought turning towards, the do, Zhadra's hamr completely red.
He looked at the watch, one minute, fourth five seconds.
He leapt up, swung the chain around the do, the treen caught between the do and his silver chains, the he pulled, the chains digging into their body, crackling separating them.
Serif landed, the chains retracting back to his wrist, the treen collapsing, sliding off the surface of the do.
Orivin smiled as he saw Serif, Jake had a look of disbelief, transforming to fear the next second, sothing was wrong.
"Behind you," Orivin scread out, his instincts screaming out as well.
Serif twisted his body, leaning back, wincing as the vine bit part of his face, zooming past, he dodged barely.
The next second the vine clashed with the do, a loud clang produced, as it bounced off it's surface.
Serif frowned as he spun around, the vine erged from the forest wall, twisted to look like chains as best as possible, then sothing pried itself out, a wooden, bony hand linked to the chain.
The forest thrumd, the remains of the destroyed treen flowing towards the wall, absorbed by it, as the hand rapidly transford, flesh forming over it, black flesh, it's remains erging from the tree wall, but it was not alone, four others erged, there bodies forming as they ca out.
Not on my watch, Serif swung his chain, but an arrow intercepted it, pinning it to the floor, an explosion of black flas following.
Zhadra's power, Serif frowned, they weren't just learning, it was copying there powers, no not just powers, his stomach dropped as the face completely ford.
This ti, the flesh wasn't rotting, it was completely black, no vines on the body, it looked almost human, except for the black flas replacing pupils, everything else was the sa, no more than sa, it was his face staring back at him, the cold emotionless eyes, the flat face, his ponytail.
Except, the flesh was completely black, and it's chain ford out of black vines, next to his treeman clone was Orivin, sa look, sa shield, then Jake levitating with a bow, and finally Zhadra, no Tavena clone in sight.
Serif looked at his wrist, a minute and ten seconds left, he knew this was going to be tough, the more realistic they looked the more powerful they got, he had concluded that, and that chain strike had confird it.
