Saturday 22 March 1992 - Night
Zaboru had just finished recording the Kan Rider Black soundtrack and returned to his ZAGE office to et Ayumi. As he opened the office door, he found her already inside, flipping through a martial arts magazine. Her eyes lit up the mont she saw him, and without hesitation, she rushed toward him, wrapping her arms around him tightly.
"Zabo! I missed you so much! Did you bring a gift from the USA?" she asked eagerly.
Zaboru grinned and reached into his pocket. "Of course, Ayumi. Here, this is for you."
He handed her a delicate pink rabbit bracelet with her na engraved on it. Ayumi's eyes sparkled as she held it up to examine it. "Whoa! So cute! Thank you, Zaboru! I love it!"
She quickly put it on, admiring how it fit perfectly around her wrist. Her excitent was infectious, and soon, she was eagerly telling him about her day. Zaboru listened with a smile, sipping his coffee as he enjoyed her animated storytelling. Every now and then, he chuckled at her enthusiasm, appreciating how she could turn the smallest details into sothing lively and engaging.
"Ayumi, let's go on a date tomorrow. But for now, since it's already late, let's just spend so ti here before I drive you ho. Okay?"
Ayumi's eyes widened with excitent. "A date!? Yes! Tomorrow! But for now... Zaboru, can you teach how to play the guitar? I've always wanted to learn. I can play the piano, but the guitar seems so cool when you play it. I want to try. Can I?"
Zaboru chuckled and nodded. "Sure, it's not that hard. Wait here a bit, I'll go get my acoustic guitar."
He went to his workshop and returned with the guitar in hand. Sitting beside her, he placed the instrunt in her lap and guided her fingers to the correct positions on the fretboard. Ayumi's first few attempts were clumsy, but she giggled at her own mistakes, determined to get it right. Zaboru was patient, helping her adjust her grip and strumming technique. The office was soon filled with soft guitar notes, laughter, and the occasional playful frustration from Ayumi when she missed a chord.
They spent the next couple of hours together, enjoying each other's company until the clock struck 10:00 PM. Knowing it was getting late, Zaboru finally drove Ayumi ho before heading back to his own place to get so rest.
Sunday 23 March 1992 - Morning
The next morning, Zaboru t Ayumi bright and early for their date, starting their day at 9:30 AM. Their first destination was the the park, which was bustling with weekend visitors. They rode the Ferris wheel, played carnival gas, and indulged in snacks as they strolled through the park, enjoying the lively atmosphere. Zaboru won Ayumi a stuffed bunny at one of the ga stalls, making her beam with happiness.
After a few hours of fun, they decided to visit a nearby mall. They walked through the various shops, Ayumi dragging Zaboru into clothing stores to get his opinion on outfits, while he found himself drawn to an electronics store, admiring the latest gadgets. They stopped by a café, where Ayumi fed him a spoonful of her parfait with a teasing smile.
As they sat in the café, Ayumi rested her chin on her hand, gazing at Zaboru. "You know, Zabo, sotis I wonder what it would have been like if we had t earlier. Would we have still ended up together like this?"
Zaboru smirked, stirring his coffee. "I think so. No matter when or where, I'd still fall for you. It was bound to happen." Zaboru tried his bullshit wordplay!
Ayumi blushed slightly before rolling her eyes with a playful grin. "You sure know how to make a girl feel special."
What they didn't realize was that they were being watched. Hidden among the crowds, Ayumi's father, Akira Hamazou, and his subordinates were tailing them closely.
Akira's expression darkened as he watched Zaboru interact with his daughter. "How dare that brat touch Ayumi like that! He needs to learn that it takes more than just money and brains to protect her. Boys, go hold them up. Let's see how he responds."
His four subordinates grinned in response. "Sure thing, boss!"
As they prepared to move in, Ayumi suddenly grabbed Zaboru's hand. "Let's go outside for so fresh air before we continue shopping!"
Zaboru nodded, and as they stepped outside, he imdiately felt sothing was off. He had a sharp instinct for danger, and his senses told him they were being followed. He glanced around discreetly, noticing a group of n dressed too formally for a casual weekend in the mall.
Ayumi, unaware of the tension, squeezed his hand. "What do you want to do next?"
Zaboru smiled at her, keeping his voice casual. "How about we go sowhere quieter? I think we could use a break from the crowd."
Just as they were about to leave, Akira and his n blocked their path. Akira crossed his arms, glaring at Zaboru. "So, you're the one who's been spending so much ti with my daughter. Let's see if you're as impressive as Ayumi seems to think."
Zaboru exhaled slowly, his grip on Ayumi's hand tightening slightly. "Ayumi, stay behind ."
Ayumi's eyes widened. "Dad! What are you doing? Don't tell ... you planned this?!"
Akira smirked. "Relax, Ayumi. This is just a test. I want to see if this boy of yours is worthy."
Zaboru locked eyes with Akira, his stance unwavering. "If it's a test you want, then let's get this over with."
The tension between them was thick, the surrounding air heavy with anticipation. Zaboru knew this was more than just an overprotective father testing him—this was about proving he could stand his ground, no matter who he was up against.
