"Don’t worry, sister." When ng Qibao saw ng Suisui staring at ng Anzhi’s back, he walked over to where she was standing and patted her on the shoulder. "Anzhi didn’t kill the zombie, which proves that she is lying."
Not wanting to kill a zombie proved that ng Anzhi wasn’t that hungry. If she was really starving, could she have the energy to pick and choose? If she were in a desperate situation, then she would be the first to kill those zombies. Only with a full stomach would ng Anzhi still care about the laws and rules of the civilised society.
An empty stomach was one of the worst kinds of pain a person could suffer from, and if that pain turned into starvation, humans would be willing to eat even corpses. How could anyone refrain from killing zombies? Compared to eating the rotting flesh of their own kind, killing a zombie was better.
Since ng Anzhi refused to do it, it showed that she had eaten sothing before coming down to look for them. With her stomach full and body bursting with energy, she would naturally be picky.
"I know." ng Suisui, of course, understood that ng Anzhi was lying. She just felt unbalanced when she saw that her good family had now broken up.
She naturally was very grateful towards her uncle and aunt for taking her and her brother under their wings but she couldn’t make things difficult for Bai iyue
If she handed the sacks of rice to ng Anzhi today, ng Suisui knew that it wouldn’t take long for ng Anzhi to beco a leech who would indirectly suck the blood of the Bai family.
More importantly, ng Suisui firmly believed that they needed to train themselves. She had been staying with the Bai family for the past few days, and her emotions and thoughts were no longer the sa as in the past. Maybe if she had stayed with the survivors, she too would have thought that Bai iyue was cruel and heartless.
But after living with Bai iyue, she understood that what Bai iyue was doing was right. The survivors were rushing to look for a haven where they wouldn’t have to worry about food and water, but was it that easy? The outside world was no longer safe; if they wanted to create a place where they would be safe, they needed to create it with their own hands, like Bai iyue did.
These kinds of thoughts and spirits made ng Suisui change slowly. She didn’t want to kneel in front of anyone, with her hands stretched in front of her while she begged for rcy.
Nor did she want to strip bare in front of a group of n and let them look at her as if she were a good that they needed to examine. One that they could buy for a night while wondering if she was worth the supplies.
ng Suisui didn’t want to serve n for a pack of chips.
She wanted to beco soone like Bai iyue, who would rush out of the house and charge at the zombies without a shred of fear in her eyes. Soone who could look at the crowd of troublemakers and sneer at them for causing trouble because she knew that she could take them on.
Only a person like Bai iyue could live freely and comfortably in this world.
And ng Suisui wanted to live a life similar to that. Not only for herself but also for her brother.
ng Qibao was her younger brother, and at tis of danger, she hoped she could protect him.
She turned to look at her brother, who stood beside her and gave him a soft smile.
"Let’s go," she said to ng Qibao. "Sister will cook so braised pork for you."
ng Qibao was fiercely growling like a wild dog, but when he heard his sister’s words, he paused and gulped heavily.
"Go! Go, go!" ng Qibao placed his hands on the shoulders of his sister and turned her around so that they could head inside the apartnt. Though he had been eating well these days, those als were sothing that Bai iyue and her mother gave them as charity.
Even though they worked in the greenhouse with the two Bai brothers, they didn’t have a lot to do. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the als these days were sothing that Aunt Bai gave them because she pitied them.
This al, however, was sothing that they earned.
ng Qibao and ng Suisui went inside the apartnt, changed their clothes after taking a bath and went to cook at once. After cooking it, they ate it. But just after one bite, they started to cry.
From then on, they swore they would learn from Bai iyue and go out to kill zombies. Even if it would be difficult at first, slowly they would learn how to do it. Killing zombies and supporting themselves would be worth it. Find your next read on .Côm
Because the als that they would eat would be ones that they would earn with pride.
On the other hand, Wang Ba was trying to stop Director Feng from following Bai iyue. Though Director Feng was strong and active for his age, he was getting old. How could he fight with zombies?
But Director Feng refused to listen. He was determined to follow Bai iyue. He knew that he might beco a burden on Bai iyue, but what if Bai iyue beca too busy and forgot to look for his wife?
He needed to go with her so that he could look for his wife; whether she was alive or dead, he had to see with his own eyes.
What’s more, even soone like ng Suisui, who looked so frail that it made others wonder whether she would be knocked down by a gust of wind or not, picked up the knife and killed a zombie. How could a man who had once served in the army stay at ho?
So, he must go!
