ng Guo’s question brought Jiang Haidai’s train of thoughts to a halt. She blinked her eyes and then raised her head to look at Bai iyue and Lei Qian.
Though the two of them didn’t say anything too shocking, she had understood the relationship between the two now.
It was true that Bai iyue had no interest in Lei Qian but the sa could not be said for Lei Qian. He was clearly very interested in Bai iyue. He was chasing after her but Bai iyue couldn’t be bothered by him and was ignoring him.
"Shh," Jiang Haidai placed her finger on her lips and then said to her son. "Don’t say such things; this matter is between the uncle and aunt; they will deal with it, okay, Guo Guo?"
Jiang Haidai thought that she was speaking very softly but Bai iyue still heard her words, as her senses as an ability user were rather sharp. She was quite embarrassed when she heard the conversation between the two.
She raised her head and glared at the man who stood behind her while chattering in her ears. It was impossible for Lei Qian to not hear what ng Guo was saying but this man, with his skin as thick as that of a dog, was pretending to be deaf!
Making such a fuss in front of a child, Lei Qian really knew how to act!
She rolled her eyes. After filling up the water in the bathtub, she got to her feet and walked out, while Lei Qian was left to heat up the water. Of course he didn’t dare to miss Bai iyue lest that woman close herself in the room.
He quickly heated the water in the bathtub and then chased after Bai iyue.
Bai iyue listened to his chatter and felt her head ache. She wanted to push him away but after listening to him confess that he had a crush on her since he was ten years old, it made it really hard for her to do so. Even her decision to raise her son alone faltered a little.
To be honest, Lei Qian hadn’t done anything wrong to her son. Was it really okay for her to push him away like this? But what about the dangers?
Bai iyue had a headache. Though she was engaged to Su Hu, other than sending him gifts every now and then, she didn’t know much about dating. After the incident at the hotel, her entire mind was focused on making it up to Su Hu, who was innocent in her eyes.
And after finding out that she was pregnant, Bai iyue was fixated on raising her son and never had any ti to date n.
Thus, she had no idea what decision to make at the mont. Pushing Lei Qian felt wrong and letting him linger also felt wrong. Bai iyue had no idea what to do!
In the end, she returned to her room after filling water for the rest of the team to wash up and was about to close the door when soone pushed their leg between.
Bai iyue raised her head and looked at Lei Qian, who stood outside and nearly squashed his foot. But after a second thought, she let go of the door and let the man co inside.
"What do you want?" Bai iyue asked as she vigilantly glanced at the man. The night was no longer young and the sky had turned dark. The moon was shining brightly in the cold sky, scattering its illuminating moonlight all over her room. It was cold and the presence of this man brought an inexplicable warmth to her room.
Lei Qian leaned on the door fra and questioned, "This question should be coming out of my mouth. What do you want, Yueyue? I said so many things right now but you didn’t even pay attention to a thing that I said to you."
Hearing his aggrieved voice, Bai iyue rolled her eyes and said to him, "Did I ask you to speak?"
"Yueyue," Lei Qian gritted his teeth. He said to her, "I just want to get close to you—"
"Stop." Bai iyue sighed and raised her hand. "Master Lei, I will be honest with you. It’s true that I am quite touched by your affection but just because you like doesn’t an that I need to repay your affection with my own. We might have spent a night together but that doesn’t an anything."
"You have your fair share of troubles and I don’t think I am willing to deal with them. I have told you I don’t plan to live an exciting life but a boring one," Bai iyue clarified her stance. "I want to stay with my family, find a normal man and have a family —" she was still speaking when the man pushed off himself from the door fra and walked over.
Though he didn’t raise his hand or voice at her, the drop in the emotional atmosphere was enough for Bai iyue to know that Lei Qian was angry.
He ca to a stop in front of her, placed his hands on her waist and then lifted her up such that she was now sitting at the large windowsill. Her thin figure illuminated under the moonlight.
Lei Qian gritted his teeth and said, "Yueyue, I told you that I have liked you for years and the response to my confession is this? You are telling that you want to marry another man and have kids with him?"
"There is nothing that we can do about it, Master Lei." Bai iyue was cold and unbothered. She had gotten used to n pleading with her. In her previous life, many n wanted to chase after her and pursue her. They used all kinds of ans but in the end they only asked her one thing and that was to send her son away.
Sothing she never agreed to.
She sighed and said, "Our goals are different and I am timid with little courage; I dare not get involved with your —umph…"
