The only thing that he was left to take care of was the children and the newborns in the hospital. If they were taken away, he was worried that he would have nothing left. When he ca outside yesterday, he was determined to die. If he couldn't even grab so supplies, then it was better for him to beco a zombie. What was the point of staying alive if he had to watch so many children die in front of him?
He said to Bai iyue, "I wanted to tell you that as long as you can save the children and the newborns in the hospital, then you don't need to worry about us. You can leave us behind but please make sure that the children and those babies would be able to get past these troubled tis."
As soon as the man finished speaking, everyone turned teary-eyed in the room. Though no one said anything, they were all touched by Zhou Hongbei's sense of responsibility. A young doctor like him was willing to give up his life for the sake of those innocent children.
How could they not be touched?
Bai iyue on the other hand, calmly humd. Though she was indeed touched by what Zhou Hongbei said, she couldn't help but think that the man was thinking too much. Did this man think that she was this careless? If she was not 100% sure that this plan would succeed, she wouldn't have brought Lei Qian and the rest with her.
In fact, she too wouldn't have put herself in danger after all; she was carrying her precious son. If there was a danger that she couldn't tackle, then Bai iyue would be the first to run away.
As for what others would think about it, Bai iyue didn't care about it. The only thing that mattered to Bai iyue the most was to make sure that her son was perfectly fine.
But of course, she wouldn't tell such things to Zhou Hongbei and the rest.
She didn't want others to think that she was being too overconfident.
"Don't worry, I understand," Bai iyue said as she headed back to the couch. Now that Zhou Hongbei had co bearing gifts, she couldn't act as if she was not sincere. She could only deal with this matter carefully. The last thing she wanted was for this overemotional man to think that she was treating the safety of the children lightly.
Though she respected Zhou Hongbei's responsible attitude and desire to protect the children, she also knew that people like these could beco quite a burden. They were too soft and easily controlled by their emotions.
In her past life, she t with an old man who worked as a teacher. He was trapped in the school and was rescued by her and her teammates. However, after he was rescued, he made a fuss and wanted to go back and rescue his students. Because the number of zombies that were surrounding the school was not low, Bai iyue asked the old man to wait for a while.
Maybe it was because she was too cold or maybe she didn't offer the right words to the old man but he took her casual stance as not taking the lives of those students seriously.
Thus, when Bai iyue refused to save a child who was trapped between the zombies, the old man thought that she was just shirking responsibility and could easily save the child.
The result? He underestimated the situation and rushed inside the classroom, resulting in the deaths of three people.
Bai iyue wanted to save the old man and the students but she needed ti and a strategy. The old man, however, thought that she was avoiding risks. One thing led to another and in the end she couldn't save anyone.
Given that Zhou Hongbei was similar to that old man, Bai iyue was worried that he would perform an act of unnecessary sacrifice and thus pushed the thought of cooking sothing good for herself out of her mind.
"Let's discuss how to enter the hospital." Yun Chuan looked at the two entrances of the hospital and frowned. "It's going to be difficult. There are two main entrances and both of them must be surrounded with zombies."
As he spoke, he turned to look at Shen Zhen and Zhou Hongbei.
"It will be even better if we can discuss the quickest path that will help us reach the room where the patients are trapped at the mont," stated Lei Qian. "That way we will know from which direction to enter the hospital and stop our energy from getting wasted."
Shen Zhen pursed her lips and then pointed at the staircase that was near to the exit staircase and said to Lei Qian and the rest, "This is the closest way to go to the incubator room…" Bai iyue listened to the discussion. She thought that it wouldn't take long but it went to the point where she had to stop stifling.
At first she was discussing the matter actively but soon she could no longer listen and wished the discussion to end as quickly as possible. Fortunately, it didn't take long for the matter to get over and she sighed in relief.
Bai iyue stepped out of the room and went to look for Jiang Haidai and ng Guo. originally, she wanted to cook on her own but now she no longer had the strength to do so.
She wanted to ask Jiang Haidai if she could cook for her but as she stepped inside the room where Jiang Haidai slept with her sister, she saw all kinds of bags packed and placed on the bed.
Bai iyue blinked her eyes and questioned, "Do you want to take so much stuff with you?"
Jiang Haidai was packing another pair of towels when she heard Bai iyue's words. She blinked her eyes and then turned to look at Bai iyue before saying, "I and Guo Guo have nothing in hand at the mont. I think these things will co in handy."
