Bai iyue returned to the penthouse and asked her brother to plant the mutated bush outside the door; the next ti an annoying insect ca to cause trouble for her, she was going to step on it.
A snicker escaped her lips when she thought about the good things that Bai Xue might suffer from if she ca to bother her again. Humming a soft tune, she first logged into the barter system and requested a maggot-catching trap. She had once seen a similar request in the barter system in the past.
Back then she thought that the op was being a bit too delicate but now that the sa thing was happening to her, Bai iyue realized that the one who was shortsighted was her.
After she finished posting, Bai iyue turned the screen off as she saw that no one had picked up the request for the ti being.
"Yueyue, do you know what kind of weird plants are growing in the greenhouse?" Just as Bai iyue finished turning the screen off, she heard the voice of her mother. She turned around and looked at Mother Bai before asking guiltily, "What weird plants?"
"The ones with bulbous fruits," Mother Bai replied with a frown adorning her beautiful face. She had never seen any plant like that before and even if she did see one, she had never seen one that pulsated! The sight alone made her shiver with fright.
Bai iyue felt even more guilty when she heard the words of her mother. She could see that her mother was truly terrified of that thing. However, Bai iyue knew that she could not disclose the concept of the barter system in front of her mother.
Not only would Mother Bai not understand, she would think that Bai iyue was bewitched by sothing sinister.
Bai iyue could only say, "It's a mutated species that I brought with . Don't worry, Mom. Once I am done researching, I will take it away."
The truth was only known to Bai iyue. Those weird plants were given to her by one of the patrons at the barter system. They were the ones who asked her to grow these things and then sell these dicinal herbs to them if she succeeded. That man had no trust in Bai iyue and her skills.
Thus, he was half certain that these herbs would not grow in Bai iyue's hands; thus, he threw the entire matter at the back of his head.
Bai iyue, too, had the sa thought. After all, she was just giving it a try and never expected it to work.
'It seems like I underestimated the ability of my mother,' thought Bai iyue with a curl of her lips. Though she didn't expect it to happen and was just trying it out, it was a pleasant surprise. Now she could get her hands on rare dicines and herbs.
"Why did you bring a mutated plant to the greenhouse?" Mother Bai was shocked. She looked at her daughter and felt as if she had lost her mind. She slapped Bai iyue on the back of her head and scolded her angrily, "Do you want to see getting mad? These things are so dangerous. What if they harm you or soone else?"
Mother Bai felt like her daughter had beco a toddler once again. When she was young, she used to do the sa thing. She would get curious at the smallest thing and would chase after bugs and pull out the poisonous weeds from the base of the mountain at the back of the village.
Now that the world had ended, she was still the sa!
When Bai iyue was hit on the back of her head, she didn't refute her mother. She simply smiled at her mother and said to her, "Mom, don't worry. I will never bring anything dangerous —"
"AHHHH!"
Bai iyue had hardly finished speaking when there was a loud scream. She paused, and so did Mother Bai. The two of them took a look at one another and then rushed out of the house, as the one who was screaming was Bai Jixuan.
The second Bai iyue strode past the tal door, and she gasped when she saw that it was Bai Jixuan screaming. She had no idea what and how it happened, but her brother was sitting on the ground with a shocked look on his face while the mutated bush was nibbling on the plastic bag that he was carrying with him.
"This—what is this?" Bai Zhan asked, and all three mbers of the Bai family turned to look at Bai iyue, who pursed her lips and relayed the truth of the matter to her family.
Once she finished speaking, Mother Bai couldn't help but roll her eyes exasperatedly. She wanted to say sothing, but she didn't know where to start. She pursed her lips and glared at her daughter before marching past Bai iyue.
Of course, Bai iyue didn't dare to say anything against her mother. She dropped her head and followed after her mother without saying another word. Once their family entered the apartnt, it was not a surprise that Bai iyue was given a harsh scolding.
Mother Bai spoke for a long ti and at the end of her long speech, she pointed out that she was old and could no longer bother with her children who didn't listen even though she only ant what was best for them.

Though she had been scolded bloody, she had no other choice but to comfort her mother and promise her that she would take care of these mutated plants. She also explained to her mother that the reason she was doing this was not because she wanted to cause trouble or because she was curious.
She simply wanted to research their characteristics and see which of these mutated plants could be used.
It took a long ti for Mother Bai to calm down but she still looked a bit annoyed because she didn't like the thought of growing those ugly plants in her greenhouse but after listening to Bai iyue's explanation, she had to admit that what her daughter said was indeed right.
