Helpless, Bai iyue could only resist her feelings and finish her breakfast in a hurry. She told her mother so random excuse before heading upstairs. She was thinking about leaving the house for a few days and searching for the machines that Shen Zhen told her about.
Bai iyue was indeed confident that there would be nothing wrong with her child but she still couldn't help but worry. As a mother, she wanted nothing to be wrong with her child and unless she saw with her own eyes that her son was perfectly fine, Bai iyue wouldn't stop worrying.
She was lost in her thoughts and didn't see the man following her upstairs; it wasn't until she heard Ciyi bark that she turned to look at Lei Qian, who was smiling at her. She noticed that when the man smiled, his eyes crinkled just like Little Cai Cai's.
Bai iyue sucked in a breath when she saw the shadow of her son in the face of his father.
"What are you doing here?" Bai iyue asked as she patted Ciyi on the head and cald the little pup down. She was quite touched by the wariness and protectiveness of the pup. At least soone was genuinely concerned about her.
Though Bai iyue understood that her mother cared for her and she only wanted what was good for her, Bai iyue still felt a bit suffocated with the continuous nosing of her mother. This was the matter between her and Lei Qian. She was not a child who couldn't understand what to do.
If Lei Qian suspected the identity of her child, then he didn't deserve to be the father of her son. It was just that simple. Why would she want to be with a man who took her as a casual woman? She was not a fool.
"Your mother sent here," Lei Qian replied with a tilt of his head. His eyes were brimming with innocence as he said to her, "She said that there was sothing important that you wanted to talk to about; what is it?"
'Mom!' Bai iyue was speechless. She couldn't believe that her mother did such a foolish thing. What was the difference between telling Lei Qian this and letting him know that she was pregnant with his child?
Bai iyue felt her head throb and she simply made another random excuse. "It's nothing. I told my mother that I needed to leave for another hunt; she must have been worried about that. I don't think that there is any other matter that I need to speak to you about."
"You are going on another hunt?"
"I am."
"Why?" Lei Qian asked with a bewildered expression. As far as he knew, Bai iyue had enough resources to live a good life for the next few months. Was there a need for her to work so hard? She could take it easy for a few days.
"These resources are not enough," Bai iyue simply remarked, picking up the bottle of multivitamins before Lei Qian could see it and dropping it inside the drawer.
It seed like she needed to have a good chat with her mother. Just because she was anxious, her mother just couldn't send Lei Qian upstairs like this.
Bai iyue closed the drawer and just then a pair of arms reached out and hugged her from behind. When Bai iyue saw the actions of the man, she was speechless. She pushed him away and said to him, "What do you think you are doing? Is this ti to get chummy with ?"
The man shalessly smiled at her and said to her, "I don't think that there is a need for us to be so distant. Have you forgotten what the two of us did the last ti we were alone and a bed was involved? I don't think that the two of us are at the stage where we need to think of such distant things—oww!"
Lei Qian let out a shriek of pain as he lowered his head and looked at the foot that had been squashed by Bai iyue. He raised his head and looked at the woman with a light teasing smile and remarked, "Are you shy, Yueyue? I really like this side of yours."
In response, Bai iyue rolled her eyes and kicked him on the knee once again. Since this man could still speak then, it looks like she didn't hit him too hard. With a snort she glanced at the man who had buckled down and stated coldly, "If you have so much heat coursing in your body, tell before. I will freeze it out for you."
This man really had no qualms when it ca to teasing her, did he?
"You…" Lei Qian raised his head and smirked at her with a promise of vengeance in his eyes. And before Bai iyue could push him away, the man caught her and pulled her onto the bed.
"You bastard, let go!!" Bai iyue's eyes widened when she realised the dangerous position they were in at the mont. If Lei Qian pressed his heavy body against hers, she was worried that the man would squash her little son.
She imdiately jabbed her legs in the abdon of the man to stop him from coming down.
Fortunately, Lei Qian had no desire to press his body onto Bai iyue's frail one and said, "You really think I am a good person, Yueyue. You treat so casually because you think that brother cannot do anything to you, eh?"
How can there be such a person in this world? His thick skin was so legendary that if she peeled it off, she wouldn't need to wear another layer of clothes if she used it to make her own clothes. Of course, she was not inhumane to wear clothes made out of human skin.
But this man sure had so thick skin!
"Get off ."
"Kiss first."
