Bai iyue turned silent when she heard the words of her two elder brothers. She had no idea what to say to them or how to calm them, so she could only focus her attention on the bowl of porridge that was sitting in front of her; she continued to eat in silence.
When Yan Wanning saw that Bai iyue was not putting in her thoughts, she exchanged a look with her sons, who seed just as worried. Was Bai iyue not willing to be with Lei Qian? Though they wanted Lei Qian to take responsibility, they were not going to ignore Bai iyue’s wishes either.
However, they could not understand why Bai iyue didn’t want to get married to Lei Qian. That man ruined her reputation. Wasn’t it right to take responsibility?
Yan Wanning, Bai Zhan, and Bai Jixuan grew up in the village, and thus they could not stomach the city culture of one-night stands.
Seeing that she was not saying anything, Yan Wanning couldn’t help but convince her daughter, "Don’t bla your brothers and I. We just want you to live a life with your head held high. Think about it carefully; now that this matter is known to everyone, who will take you seriously? No man will be willing to marry you now. "Now that such a thing has happened, you will not be able to get married. But think about it carefully, Yueyue. Your brothers will have their own families, and I will sooner or later get old and pass away. Then who will protect you from this harsh society? Single won are like an open treasure chest, especially ones whose reputation is ruined. Even if you did nothing wrong, so scums in this society will treat you harshly."
"Without soone protecting you, your life is bound to turn hard. Marrying Lei Qian will at least save you from these troubles; even if the two of you got together due to so inevitable circumstances, there is nothing you can do about it other than think of what you should be doing now."
She paused and added, "Even if you don’t want to stay with him, at least marry him and then you can divorce him. This house will not feed you all your life."
Though what Yan Wanning said was really harsh, these were enough to sum up the realistic situation of the current society. After all, society has always been hard on won.
Thus, the reason why Yan Wanning was spending so much ti trying to convince her daughter was because she didn’t want her daughter to suffer after her death. She was going to make Lei Qian take responsibility for her daughter; either he married her or gave her so shares in his company.
If he refused to hand over the shares, then marrying Bai iyue was his only option!
Even if they were called greedy bastards, Yan Wanning didn’t care about it at all. The only thing that she and her sons cared about was Bai iyue’s comfort and happiness.
Of course, if Lei Qian had not been drunk and he had done those things to Bai iyue while being completely sober, they would have never asked Bai iyue to marry him. But it could be seen that Lei Qian was a good man; at least he felt guilty for what he had done to Bai iyue and was trying to make up with her.
This was the reason why Yan Wanning wanted Bai iyue to marry Lei Qian.
Bai iyue lowered her head and continued eating but her heart was already thumping wildly and her eyes were brimming with tears. Not because she was upset with Yan Wanning trying to push her to Lei Qian when she didn’t want to but because she could feel Yan Wanning’s care for her.
Even though Yan Wanning and her brothers knew that fighting Lei Qian could lead them to get into trouble, they were still willing to do it for her sake. They didn’t care what happened to them, as long as she could live a good life.
And she had abandoned them for a jerk like Bai Qingshi.
She had worked like a cow and horse for Bai Qingshi and yet that man had never thought about how she would live in the future. He only cared about his bank balance. Every ti it fell below a certain point, he would force Bai iyue to take several projects and he didn’t even let her rest when she fell sick.
And here her mother and brothers were planning her future so carefully! Sure enough, she was truly blind in the past.
If her mother and brothers had been by her side, would she and Bai Cai have suffered? With her brothers and mother caring for her, her son would have grown up safely.

"I understand, Mom; I will think it over," Bai iyue didn’t agree or deny the suggestion that her mother had given her but that was not enough to relieve the worries of Yan Wanning and the two Bai brothers.
This won’t do; they needed to talk to Lei Qian about this matter.
Bai iyue knew that they were still thinking of talking to Lei Qian but didn’t say anything to stop them. After all, she had long noticed that Lei Qian was not coming to see her, which ant that he went to the cloud city to bring his family back.
With the incoming typhoon and the things that were going to co along with it, it would be a surprise if Lei Qian returned any ti soon.
"Mom, I am going to the mall," Bai iyue thought about the few things that she needed to stock and stood up. "Do you want to buy sothing for you?"
"Why are you going to the mall?" Yan Wanning asked Bai iyue with a frown. "It’s raining so heavily; leave this matter to your brothers."
However, Bai iyue shook her head and said in a calm voice, "Mom, brothers cannot buy these things for . Don’t worry, I will be back soon."
And before her mother could stop her, Bai iyue rushed out of the penthouse.
