Though Bai iyue rushed out of the house on the pretext that she wanted to buy so personal goods, the truth was that she actually went to the hospital. With her face carefully covered, she headed to the gynaecology section for a general checkup.
Even though she knew that Bai Cai was a healthy baby, as a soon-to-be mother, she couldn’t help but worry about her child. After all, no one could be certain that just because nothing went wrong with her son in her past life, everything would be peachy in this life as well.
She needed to be cautious and careful even more than she was in the past life.
After queuing up for an hour, it was finally Bai iyue’s turn. A nurse took her to get her blood test as well as the other tests done before bringing her to the doctor and handing her reports to the woman sitting on the other side of the table.
When the doctor read the na on the report, her brows jumped, and she looked up at Bai iyue before asking, "Are you sure that you want to keep this child?" She asked this question not because she was worried about an eighteen-year-old getting pregnant but because she had heard all about Bai iyue and the tragedy that she suffered from.
She also knew a lot of won who, out of guilt and pity, gave birth to their children after going through such incidents but later on they started resisting and hating the child when the child started looking like their assaulter.
Such children were later on dumped in the orphanage or they were abandoned by their mothers.
The doctor didn’t want such a thing to happen to Bai iyue and her child, which was why she gently tried to explain to Bai iyue, "Having a child is not a small matter; it will not change your life for just a few months. After giving birth, you need to raise this child and even if he or she grows up and becos an adult, you will still have to care for them."
"Do you think you will be able to do that?"
Though she did not say any harsh words, Bai iyue was able to understand the crux of the doctor’s words. She glanced at the small na board on the table and noted down the na of the doctor in her heart.
Shen Zhen.
It seed like this woman was not only an honest and good doctor but she was also a kindhearted and gentle woman.
"I know, Doctor Shen," Bai iyue replied calmly. "You don’t have to worry; no matter what, I will never resent this child. Since it is I who wants to have him."
She was done resenting Bai Cai in her past life. Bai iyue had blad her poor son enough and this ti around she only wished to make it up to him and thus, she didn’t wish to listen to anyone telling her to give up on her son.
When Shen Zhen saw that Bai iyue was determined to keep the child, she stopped trying to change her mind. As long as Bai iyue could follow through with what she was telling her.
Shen Zhen started to write the dicines and the doctors orders that suited Bai iyue’s condition with her head down.
Bai iyue thought about it a little and decided that she was going to keep Shen Zhen safe in the post-apocalyptic world. Shen Zhen was not only the head of the departnt, and from the line that was standing outside her clinic, it was enough to show that Shen Zhen was a very good gynaecologist.
Since that was the case, then why bother taking the risk and finding another doctor? Wasn’t it good to keep Shen Zhen by her side until Bai Cai was born? As for after that, Shen Zhen could stay or leave.
"For the first three weeks, keep taking these vitamins," said Shen Zhen, who was unaware of Bai iyue’s plan of kidnapping her. "These vitamins are good for pregnant won. At the fourth week, start the vitamins that are written at the bottom of the page and co back to get your tests and ultrasound done."
Bai iyue nodded as she agreed with everything that Shen Zhen said. She looked down at the vitamins that the doctor had placed forward in front of her and questioned in a tentative voice, "Doctor Shen, can you give more vitamins That way you and I will not be troubled at the next examination?"
She thought that she had placed her request really smartly but Shen Zhen was not fooled. Instead she turned stern and said to Bai iyue in a strict voice, "Young lady, I know that you are worried about your child and body as it is your first pregnancy but taking these vitamins willy-nilly can also harm your child and your body."
The reason she was able to beco the head of her departnt was because she was not only skilled but also because she truly cared for the health of her patients. She would never do anything against her morals and values or sothing that would hurt her patients.
When Bai iyue heard the stern words of Shen Zhen, she knew that she had failed. Her expression turned sombre and she couldn’t help but sigh in regret.
Now that Shen Zhen had refused to hand her more vitamins, she was very much worried about how to get her hands on more vitamins once the apocalypse started. Now Bai iyue could only hope that she would et a pregnant woman in the barter system and get so vitamins from her.
She looked down at the vitamin bottles and sighed once again. She thought that she would be able to live a comfortable life but it looks like she would have to go around hunting for these vitamins until she found another source. And unfortunately for her, the population of zombies was thickest at the hospital.
’Should I kidnap Shen Zhen before the apocalypse?’ Bai iyue thought as she looked up at the sky, which was getting darker and darker. She shook her head and muttered, "There is no need—sooner or later, she will realise that there was sothing wrong with the current situation."
