"It’s nothing," even though Old Master Bai was simply shocked to the point that he stopped breathing, he still knew that there were so things that he couldn’t say. So, he lowered his head and hid the gleam in his eyes that was fluctuating. "I was just lost in my thoughts."

Yan Wanning nodded. She didn’t think much and started serving the person behind Old Master Bai a bowl of porridge. As she was too busy, she didn’t notice Old Master Bai glancing at her as he walked away.

"Ouch! Old Bai, watch where you are going!" Because Old Master Bai was not looking ahead, he ran into Director Feng, who rubbed his forehead and looked at Old Master Bai with a hint of a frown on his face. Where was this old man running around while looking behind him? Was he not worried that he would end up getting hurt? And what kind of trick did this man co up with that he was walking with his head turned back while he was moving forward?

Old Master Bai whipped his head to the front, and when he saw Director Feng, he imdiately reached out, caught hold of Director Feng’s wrist and pulled him to one side.

Director Feng had not expected such an outco. He looked at Old Master Bai and said to him, "Old Bai, what is the matter with you? I am a bit hungry. Can we discuss whatever you have to say later on?"

"We cannot discuss this later on," said Old Master Bai. He glanced at Yan Wanning and then turned to look at Director Feng. "Who is that woman? The one who is serving the porridge?"

Director Feng frowned. He raised his head and looked at Yan Wanning. When he saw Mother Bai, his frown deepened. He said to Old Master Bai, "That’s Madam Bai, Miss iyue’s mother. Why are you asking about her?"

"Bai iyue’s mother?" Old Master Bai’s eyes widened. For so reason, he suddenly felt a bit stifled. He rembered the feeling of closeness that he had felt when he t with Bai iyue for the first ti. Back then, he thought that it was due to the woman being polite yet smart and powerful.

But now he had a feeling—no, a suspicion that there was more to the feeling that he had felt.

He thought of the feelings that he had for Bai iyue, and then thought of the feelings that he shared with his supposed biological granddaughter, Bai Yi.

He had watched Bai Yi grow in front of him, and yet he had never felt close to her. He thought that it was because Bai Yi didn’t grow up with him; that he wasn’t as close to her as he was with his other grandchildren. But now—

He glanced at Yan Wanning, who was smiling at the man who was speaking to her; the more he looked at her, the more Old Master Bai couldn’t help but shake off the suspicions— he knew it was simply crazy to even think about it, but what if?

"Why are you looking at Madam Bai?" Director Feng asked with a frown on his face. He stared at Old Master Bai and then glanced at Yan Wanning before saying to him, "Don’t tell that you are interested in her? Old Bai, I am telling you that you’d better stop when you have ti. I don’t think that Miss iyue would like it if you tried to make a move on her mother."

Old Master Bai’s face flushed red, and he hit the man on the back of his head. "What nonsense are you saying? I — It’s just that I think—just take a look at her; doesn’t she look like my wife when she was young? Take a good look."

Upon hearing this, Director Feng turned and looked at the woman who was smiling and chatting with others. He had seen Old Master Bai’s wife when she was young; thus, he naturally could see the similarities between the two won, and the more he looked at Yan Wanning, the more Director Feng was shocked.

He hadn’t paid much attention to Yan Wanning in the past, as the woman didn’t have much influence. She was more like a housewife who was yet to step out of her protective bubble; because of this, he had hardly looked at her twice.

But now that he was looking at her carefully, he realised that the woman was way too similar to Old Madam Bai, and that wasn’t all; she even shared so similarities with Old Master Bai. It could be said that Yan Wanning was the perfect combination of Old Master Bai and Old Madam Bai.

But how was that possible? Old Master Bai already had a daughter and a granddaughter. His daughter, being divorced by her ex-husband, was now living with the Bai family. If he was not wrong, then before the end of the world, Old Master Bai’s daughter even got so shares of the Bai corporation.

He turned to look at Old Master Bai and questioned, "But how is this — did you lose another daughter?"

"My wife and I only had one daughter," replied Old Master Bai with a dark face. His wife gave birth to three sons and a daughter. The daughter, being the youngest, was naturally treated the best. Because of this, Bai Ying was spoiled rotten by them and their sons. But even when he cared for his daughter, Old Master Bai always had this feeling that there was sothing wrong because the more Bai Ying grew up, the more different she beca from the rest of the Bai family.

While he was not a narcissist, he knew that his sons looked really good and even his grandchildren were the sa, but the sa couldn’t be said about Bai Ying, who, despite going through several plastic surgeries, still looked quite average when compared to the rest of the family.

She didn’t even resemble his wife or him.

And yet an unknown woman resembled his wife and him—even if Old Master Bai were to think with his toes, he would be able to understand what was going on.
