Bai iyue knew why these two won were talking nonsense like this. She sighed and then picked up the serving chopsticks before feeding them a piece of the stead bass that she had cooked. Naturally, she knew what was going on. After listening to the nonsense of her second brother, these two were worried that the food she cooked was naturally not edible and wanted to take a bite first lest Bai iyue end up eating sothing that she shouldn’t.
But then again, her second brother was not wrong. The last ti she cooked was when she was fourteen, and well, let’s say that the dishes that she made were not sothing that could be eaten by humans. However, that incident was way too old. Why was her brother even bringing up that old incident? What were his intentions? How could he be so rude?
"How is it?" She asked at once when the two won had finished swallowing the stead sea bass. ’
"It’s really good."
"Delicious. Much better than what I expected."
Behind them, Bai Jixuan, who was prepared to hear a bunch of things but not praise for the cooking of his sister, raised his head in shock and looked at the two won. What? Delicious? Were their taste buds broken? They had to be because how could they call anything cooked by Bai iyue delicious? He walked over and then took a bite of the stead sea bass. Sure enough, it was just as the two won said. It was delicious!
His eyes widened, and he looked at his sister in surprise. He never thought that his sister, who brought nothing but chaos every ti she went into the kitchen, could cook sothing so delicious. His eyes went wide in surprise, and he exclaid, "Yueyue...how...how did you?"
Bai iyue sneered and decided to simply ignore her second brother. He was getting more and more of a straight shooter and didn’t even bother hiding her dark past. Look at him; he even dug out the matter of her not being able to cook ages ago in front of others.
How rude.
Bai Jixuan knew that his little sister was angry, so he hurried to sit next to her and started to coax her like a child when—
CRACK!
She turned to look at the glass and imdiately got to her feet. She walked over and saw Lei Qian standing on the other side. Her eyes widened when she saw that the man was leaning against the wall with his right arm bleeding. No one knew what had happened to him, but Bai iyue could see that his injuries were quite severe. No wonder the man didn’t co to look for her right away.
Bai iyue looked at the vine that was sticking inside the glass. She frowned and didn’t know what the man was doing, so she turned to look at Bai Zhan. Her elder brother understood what she wanted right away and morphed his arm into that of a gold one. He raised his hand and smashed the window with a loud bang. The glass ca shattering down, and the vine extended even further, only to drop a large bag onto the floor.
When Bai iyue saw the bag dropping on the floor, she frowned even harder. She imdiately opened the bag and saw the dry rations inside it. Her eyes widened, and she turned to look at the man in shock. "You...you idiot. Who asked you to give your dry rations? Are you trying to kill yourself?"
Her eyes turned red when she thought of how Lei Qian had this little amount of food, and he still wanted to give it all to her, and then there was Su Hu in her past life. That man didn’t even think of sharing the sesa cake with her when the two of them were together.
Lei Qian simply smiled at her and then walked away —or more like she staggered away. She looked at the man who was walking away and suddenly grew concerned. She had a feeling that the reason the man was acting like this was that he thought that he was going to die anyway, so it was better if he gave the last of his supplies to her; at least she and their son would be able to survive.
Bai iyue frowned and turned to look at her brothers.
"I know what you are thinking, but Yueyue... you haven’t rested since morning. Take a short nap, and we will think of a solution." Bai Zhan stopped her from doing anything impulsive.
He was worried that his sister would push herself too much and might cause trouble for herself and her unborn child. Thus, he pulled her away from the broken window and said to her, "Take a nap for two or three hours."
"But he—"
"He is fine." Bai Zhan was also worried about Lei Qian, but he was more worried about Bai iyue, who was prone to making impulsive decisions. He didn’t know whether it was due to her pregnancy or whether she had always been this impulsive. With a helpless expression on his face, he pulled her to the couch and said to her, "I know that you are worried, but let’s be clear about one thing. If you are tired, then you will be more of a burden on yourself as well as Ah Qian. He is doing this because he wants you and your child to be safe. If you push yourself, then you will simply ruin his good deed. So, try to think things through, okay?"
Bai iyue didn’t want to agree, but she knew that her brother was only looking out for her. She pursed her lips and nodded. Her brother was right; she didn’t have much strength left at the mont, even if she tried her best to save Lei Qian, Bai iyue knew that she might only strain herself even more.
So she might as well sleep first and see what she can do after that!
