The power chosen by Arceus for Yamato wasn’t from an existing Divine Beast, but from the disassembled Dragon of Ideals.
Legend has it that a powerful Dragon-type Pokemon assisted two brothers in creating a new Unova Region. Later, due to a disagreent between the brothers, that powerful Pokemon split into two, becoming the True Dragon - Reshiram, and the Dragon of Ideals - Zekrom.

Their power is the only possibility for Divine Beast power to coexist. At the ti of their split, Kyurem, this shell, was also born.

What he had done, in simple terms, was use a steel wire to extract all the Dragon Fruit Seeds from a hole without destroying the structure of the Dragon Fruit.
Moreover, the fruit pulp wasn’t mangled into mush, and the seeds remained unhard.
This primarily relied on the power of the Pixie Plate and Dread Plate. If he also had the Ghost and Psychic-type Plates, this task would be much easier.
