Outside Kahn's bedroom, a group of masked archers had surrounded the building at so point, arrows already drawn.

The captain leading them made a gesture to move.

In the next instant, countless arrows flew from their bows, riddling the entire room with holes.

Under the captain's command, the archers fired three volleys in succession.

They did not stop until the whole building looked ready to collapse.

Even the strongest bending master was still flesh and blood in the end.

Faced with such a dense barrage of arrows, even the Avatar would have no chance of survival.

Bang!

"Ah!"

"Ah!"

That was what the captain thought.

But in the next second, a swift figure burst through the window and rushed before them like lightning.

Flas gathered around his palms as he struck two soldiers in the chest.

The instant the fire exploded, the two n were sent flying, tearing open a gap in the encirclent.

Kahn's movents did not pause in the slightest.

After breaking through the encirclent, he stomped hard, leaped over the wall, and disappeared from everyone's sight.

Kahn was simply too fast.

From breaking through the window to tearing through the encirclent, the entire process flowed in one seamless motion.

Only after he vanished did the others finally react.

Oh no.

The captain's expression changed, and he could no longer care about anything else.

He quickly waved his arm and shouted,

"After him!"

I almost died.

Recalling the scene just now, Kahn could not help breaking out in cold sweat, mixed with relief and a little sha.

He was currently in the most pathetic state he had ever been in since arriving in this world.

The attack had co too suddenly, and he had not been prepared at all.

Although he sensed danger at the last mont, woke from his dream in ti, and quickly hid beneath the bed, his arms and thighs were still scraped during the escape.

Fortunately, the injuries were not serious.

More importantly, he liked sleeping in nothing but shorts.

The sudden crisis had given him no ti to do anything extra.

That ant he was currently running around in only his shorts.

A man wearing only shorts, sprinting across rooftops.

Just thinking about it made him sound like a pervert.

Of course, with Kahn's handso face and solid physique, he might even be popular with certain people.

But that was absolutely not what Kahn wanted.

All in all, it was fortunate that it was deep in the night and most people were already asleep.

Otherwise, he would have died socially tonight.

I'll rember this grudge.

Kahn gritted his teeth inwardly, but he quickly cald himself down.

While continuing to flee, he began thinking through his current situation.

This attack against him had clearly been preditated.

The group attacking him was also well trained, and they clearly understood his abilities, choosing arrows instead of firebending to attack him.

As for the mastermind with the ability to launch this attack and organize such people, he could think of no one besides Ozai.

But why?

Had their plan been exposed?

Had sothing gone wrong with Iroh?

Had his connection with Azula been discovered?

Or was it Zuko?

Had soone betrayed them?

If so, who?

He did not even know where the problem had occurred.

He had been so well-behaved during this period, hadn't he?

Kahn could not figure it out for the mont, so he could only set those questions aside.

In any case, he first needed to survive this attack.

Only then would he have ti to think through everything slowly.

"Kahn, they're catching up!"

"What do we do now?"

"Should we teach them a lesson?"

"They're really bullying a spirit's friend!"

East, South, West, and North chattered beside his ears.

As spirits, the four little ones could not be hard by arrows.

But the sudden attack had startled them awake, making them quite angry.

Hearing them, Kahn tilted his head and glanced back.

Sure enough, the group had already caught up.

They were leaping rapidly across the rooftops, their movents agile and their speed not at all inferior to his, pursuing him closely.

That was definitely not agility ordinary soldiers could possess.

They were clearly Ozai's elites.

"Don't move."

"We retreat first."

Although Kahn also wanted to deal with these people, he still chose to stop the spirits.

East, South, West, and North were one of their hidden trump cards.

He did not want them exposed so easily.

Moreover, if they truly fought, Kahn was confident he could eliminate them all, but that would inevitably delay him and create a greater commotion.

More variables would appear.

It would not be worth it.

Retreat first.

However, the pursuers clearly had no intention of letting Kahn escape so easily.

Several archers behind him drew their bows again and nocked arrows.

Their high-speed leaps and shifting movents seed to have no effect on their aim.

The arrows whistled through the air, accurately locking onto Kahn.

Under the moonlight, their arrowheads glead like falling stars streaking across the night sky, beautiful and deadly.

Yet Kahn seed to have eyes in the back of his head.

Without even turning around, he dodged the incoming fatal attacks with a few nimble shifts.

The archers were sowhat surprised, but their movents did not falter.

They drew their bows and fired again.

This ti, however, they were not rely aiming at Kahn.

They coordinated with one another, completely sealing off every possible path of escape.

How troubleso.

Kahn frowned.

He could only dodge part of the attack before quickly turning and releasing several arcs of fire to intercept the remaining arrows.

But doing so inevitably slowed his montum slightly.

The enemies keenly seized that opportunity.

Two of them split off from the group, swapped their bows for swords, and accelerated forward.

They flanked Kahn from left and right, then lunged at the sa ti, cold swordlight aid straight at his vital points.

"Close combat?"

Before the two could even get near him, two scorching pillars of fire engulfed them completely.

Screams followed, along with the sll of burning flesh, as both n fell from the rooftop.

"Are you two alright?"

Kahn wanted to add a few more sarcastic remarks.

Unfortunately, arrows once again ca from behind, interrupting him.

Kahn quickly dodged and continued fleeing.

After witnessing the miserable end of those two, no one in the pursuit team tried to get close again.

They rely continued harassing Kahn with arrows, wearing down his stamina.

By now, they had also understood the situation.

The city gates were shut tight in the dead of night, and even the strongest person was helpless before the towering city walls.

Kahn had nowhere to run.

As long as they stayed on his heels, once his stamina ran out, he would beco a lamb waiting for slaughter.

There was no need to rush.

But Kahn seed completely unaware of that problem and continued running toward the city wall.

The soldiers maintained a distance that was neither too close nor too far, silently pursuing him as though so unspoken agreent had ford between them.

However, that agreent did not last long.

Kahn finally reached the city wall and stopped.

The soldiers exchanged glances and slowly began spreading out again, preparing to encircle him.

Whoosh.

Ignoring the dangerous situation around him, Kahn looked up at the towering city wall ahead and exhaled softly.

Then he spread his arms.

Endless flas surged from his entire body, completely swallowing his figure until only a raging sea of fire remained.

"Careful!"

The scene before them looked like Kahn's desperate final struggle.

And such struggles were often deadly.

Everyone imdiately raised their guard.

However, the sea of fire before them did not attack anyone.

It simply churned and roared, gradually forming a blurred shape.

It spread its wings and raised its head, its posture elegant and divine.

It was clearly a sacred bird ford entirely from flas.

A phoenix.

Under everyone's shocked gazes, the phoenix made of fire flapped its wings and soared into the sky at incredible speed.

It flew over the city wall, then quickly vanished without a trace.

The guards atop the wall stared at the scene in stunned silence, completely unaware of what had just happened.

They even wondered whether they were dreaming.

"…Continue the pursuit."

Only after regaining his senses did the captain's face turn ashen.

He could only grit his teeth and continue issuing orders.

This was going to be serious trouble.

Crack!

The shattered wine cup lay scattered across the floor, the firelight reflecting across Ozai's livid face and making it appear especially vicious.

"Kahn!"
