"Well, little friend, have you ever seen a magic tower before?" Atlas asked as he gestured for Daniel to sit down, then took the seat in front of him.

"As far as I know, magic towers only allow mages to enter. So no, I've never seen one," Daniel replied with a smile.

He had heard about so of the tower's rules — for example, non-mages weren't allowed to enter unless given permission by the tower master himself.

"Haha, that's right. Unfortunately, such a rule exists," Atlas chuckled, stroking his beard a little.

"The magic tower has ten floors in total," he suddenly said.

"Oh? Just ten? I expected more," Daniel said with surprise. Given the tower's massive size, he had expected it to have way more floors.

"The number of floors in a magic tower is determined by the number of floors it actually has," the Grand Mage replied.

Daniel nodded in understanding. That was an interesting kind of connection.

"According to the central magic tower's regulations, the tenth floor must always be the office of the tower master. But there's no specific rule about the other floors. Still, the overall structure of all magic towers is the sa."

"The ninth floor is the Ritual Floor, used for conducting magical rituals. The eighth floor is what we call the Supre Floor. It holds resources related to rare and unique laws, like the Laws of Ti and Fate."

"The seventh floor is the tower's library. It's common knowledge that mages are obsessed with research and experintation. The sixth floor is the alchemy lab, where all sorts of potions and spells are created."

"The fifth floor is the tower's prison. We handle cris related to the magic tower ourselves. The fourth floor is the dormitory for arcane scholars. The third floor is the training hall — that one doesn't need much explanation," Atlas said, then paused a bit to let Daniel absorb all the information.

Daniel ntally reviewed everything. He hadn't expected the magic tower to have a prison, but it made sense.

Azarath was probably imprisoned in the tower's prison right now.

What caught his attention even more, though, was the library and the Supre Floor. There was no need to explain the library — it was basically a paradise for mages.

He was certain that countless skills and deep knowledge about laws and elents were stored there in the form of books. If he could gain access to that place, just how much stronger could he beco?

Even thinking about it was exciting. But unfortunately, as far as he knew, even mbers of the magic tower had limited access to the library, and only the tower master had unrestricted access to the entire archive.

More important than that was the Supre Floor. It was clear the na ca from the Seven Supre Laws: the Law of Death, the Law of Life, the Law of Fate, the Law of Destruction, the Law of Creation, the Law of Nothingness, and the Law of Eternity.

These were laws whose sources were extrely rare — or in so cases, practically nonexistent. In other words, the vast majority of the world's mages couldn't use the powers of these laws at all.

But it seed like at least so sources of these laws existed in the magic towers — or at least in a few of them. Because if every magic tower had access to Supre sources, wouldn't that make the towers and their mages the most powerful forces in the world?

"The second floor is the public area — sort of like a lounge or dining hall. The first floor is the reception area," Atlas finished his explanation.

"Thank you for the explanation, Mr. Atlas. But why are you telling all this?" Daniel appreciated the information, but it didn't seem particularly relevant for soone who wasn't a mage.

Though, that didn't an the info was useless. If he ever ended up in conflict with the magic tower or needed to rob them, knowing the general layout of all towers would co in handy.

Anything's possible, right?

"Little friend, Leia told you used a sword during battle. So naturally, I assud you were a warrior. But I can feel that you're not actually a true warrior," the air around Atlas suddenly turned a bit more serious.

Daniel was slightly shocked. He hadn't expected the Grand Mage to see through him so easily.

"Well, I never said I was one, did I? I'm a magic warrior," Daniel said, repeating the sa line he used with August.

"A dual-class, huh?" Atlas stroked his beard again and fell into thought.

Dual-classes were rare, but they could possess truly extraordinary traits. For now, he decided to trust this boy's words.

"So, kid, you're capable of using magic too. I'm getting more and more tempted to take you in as my apprentice," the serious air around him faded, returning to his more relaxed deanor.

"Thank you for thinking so highly of , but I'm not that talented. And even if I were, I don't think I'd be able to stay in this city," Daniel said with humility and respect.

Yeah, right. Like he'd waste another second in this cursed city if he had the choice.

"I get that. Taking in an otherworlder as an apprentice isn't easy, and it cos with a lot of trouble," Atlas sighed. It was a sha to lose such potential.

"Anyway, do you know why I asked you to co here?"

Daniel shook his head. Since arriving, the Grand Mage hadn't ntioned why he was invited at all.

"The Duke was truly grateful for what you did for his daughter and wanted to reward you. Marxiel told that it seems like you're planning to head to the Black Swamp. I assu it's to improve your physical abilities, right?"

"Yes, Mr. Atlas. I'm not weak, but who wouldn't want to get stronger?" Daniel replied with a grin.

"Haha, I like that line… Anyway, the Duke asked to grant you access to the River of the Dragon's Tears," Atlas said more seriously.

"River of the Dragon's Tears?" Daniel frowned. He'd never heard of such a thing before, but anything with 'dragon' in its na clearly wasn't going to be simple.

"The founder of our empire was one of the most gifted individuals in history. One of the few to ever achieve a Six-Star Achievent. But it wasn't all because of his own talent."

Daniel stayed quiet, waiting for him to finish. But before that—Six-Star Achievent? If that was what he thought it was, didn't he himself already have a Seven-Star one?

"The biggest reason he reached where he did… was the River of the Dragon's Tears."
