In the Black-Corner Region, Shi Yan City.
After eliminating the Wolf Fang Gang and using ruthless thods to clear out any resisting forces in the city, Yuan Mansion completely took control of the city.
Over the past two weeks, Mo Yu had established Yuan Mansion in Shi Yan City, gradually gaining so fa in the surrounding areas of the Black-Corner Region.
Many people ca to know that, although Yuan Mansion was newly established, it possessed a genuine Dou Wang powerhouse.
The spread of this news caused a stir in the cities surrounding Shi Yan City. According to the rules of the Black-Corner Region, any force with a Dou Wang powerhouse could be considered a second-rate power, while possessing a Dou Huang powerhouse elevated it to a first-rate power.
As for even stronger ones, they belonged to forces with Dou Zong powerhouses, holding a transcendent status that no one dared to provoke—except perhaps the mighty presence of the Jia Nan Academy.
However, not everyone feared Yuan Mansion. So dismissed it, thinking that as a newly established power, it wasn't worthy of its reputation.
About ten days after Yuan Mansion took over Shi Yan City, a mid-sized faction, led by a four-star Dou Ling, attempted to challenge Yuan Mansion.
However, by the next day, all news of this faction had disappeared. After so investigation, spies discovered that Yuan Mansion had nearly exterminated the faction, with most of their mbers killed and the remaining ones surrendering.
In the spacious hall, several people were present. Yuan Mansion's mbers busied themselves decorating their new headquarters. Occasionally, mansion mbers passing through the hall would cast respectful and admiring glances toward the mansion master, sitting at a table and sipping tea with an impassive expression.
Since the establishnt of Yuan Mansion, due to the presence of the Zi Huo Hall Master, they rarely saw their mansion master personally take action. They knew he was powerful but hadn't witnessed it firsthand, so they lacked a tangible sense of his strength.
However, when a faction recently challenged Yuan Mansion's rule over Shi Yan City, they were surprised that their mansion master agreed to the challenge and defeated the faction's leader, a four-star Dou Ling, with a swift display of power. Only then did they truly realize their mansion master's formidable strength.
Since then, everyone in Yuan Mansion viewed Mo Yu with profound respect and admiration.
"Reporting to the mansion master, with the Wolf Fang Gang and opposing forces eliminated, our Yuan Mansion's dominant position in Shi Yan City is now uncontested. Many people, upon hearing of our reputation, wish to join Yuan Mansion.
"Following your instructions, after a careful selection process, we recruited six Da Dou Shi powerhouses and fifty-seven Dou Shi. Here's the list for you to review."
In the hall, Mo Yu sat at the table while Ling Feng respectfully addressed him, handing over the list.
Looking at the mansion master, who was a few years younger than himself, Ling Feng felt imnse respect. To be so young yet capable of defeating a four-star Dou Ling indicated that Mo Yu would likely beco a Dou Huang in the future.
Taking the list from Ling Feng, Mo Yu nodded impassively. With Yuan Mansion's expansion, recruiting new mbers was natural.
However, Mo Yu was selective, requiring at least Dou Shi strength for new recruits. Although he didn't demand strict moral standards, he avoided accepting those with egregiously notorious reputations.
As a result, after a thorough selection, only a few dozen mbers were recruited—a stark contrast to the hundreds of recruits common to the Wild Wolf Gang.
But although their numbers were small, the recruits were worthy of cultivation and trust.
Yuan Mansion might now dominate Shi Yan City, but it was still far from being a major force in the Black-Corner Region. Thus, building a solid foundation was more important than rapid expansion.
What disappointed Mo Yu sowhat was that the strongest recruit was only a four-star Da Dou Shi, and there were no Dou Ling powerhouses.
Shaking his head, Mo Yu turned to ng Yang nearby and asked, "ng Hall Master, how is your mastery of the second-grade weapon refining blueprints I gave you? Can you refine weapons that et the requirents?"
Hearing Mo Yu's question, ng Yang quickly replied, "Reporting to the mansion master, the refining thods you provided differ greatly from those for magical core weapons, so my progress has been slow. Please forgive , mansion master.
"But with my recent efforts, I've successfully crafted the Blazing Long Blade. Many of our elite mbers are now equipped with it, and we've sold several, generating a steady inco stream for Yuan Mansion."
ng Yang's expression showed deep gratitude as he spoke, his eyes filled with respect for Mo Yu.
On the Dou Qi continent, refining blueprints and pill recipes were closely guarded secrets. Even as a second-grade weapon refiner, ng Yang had only ever learned a few techniques for refining magical core weapons.
Yet after Mo Yu appointed him as the Hall Master of Armory, he was granted four second-grade refining blueprints. This generosity made ng Yang feel deeply grateful.
"Only one, huh..." Mo Yu frowned.
To support Yuan Mansion's steady growth, funds were essential, which was why Mo Yu invested in ng Yang's training. A second-grade weapon refiner, along with the blueprints Mo Yu provided, would be valuable assets for Yuan Mansion's developnt.
Seeing Mo Yu's slight disappointnt, ng Yang's square, thick-browed face revealed a hint of guilt. But then he seed to rember sothing, and he respectfully said to Mo Yu, "Mansion master, I've made progress, and thanks to your support, my soul power has broken through. Soon, I might advance to beco a third-grade weapon refiner."
"Oh? A third-grade weapon refiner..."
Hearing ng Yang's words, Mo Yu paused and then nodded with a slight smile.
If ng Yang advanced to the third tier, it would be a trendous boost for Yuan Mansion's developnt.
"Well done. Once you beco a third-grade weapon refiner, I'll give you so third-grade blueprints," Mo Yu replied, satisfied.
Upon hearing this, ng Yang's face lit up with joy as he bowed deeply. "Thank you, mansion master!"
"Hall Master ng, you're too polite. It's all for Yuan Mansion's developnt."
After encouraging ng Yang, Mo Yu turned to Ling Feng and asked, "Any news on the Seven-Colored Ancient Vine and soul-attribute sixth-grade magic core?"
One of Mo Yu's goals in establishing Yuan Mansion was to gather refining materials. A faction could achieve this much faster than an individual.
And indeed, even without leaving Shi Yan City, his subordinates had been steadily sending over auxiliary materials for refining the Spirit-rging Holy Chalice. Only two main materials remained.
At Mo Yu's question, Ling Feng stepped forward with a bitter smile. "Reporting to the mansion master, we still haven't found any leads on the Seven-Colored Ancient Vine or the soul-attribute sixth-grade magic core."
When Ling Feng learned Mo Yu was seeking such rare materials, he was astonished. While the Seven-Colored Ancient Vine was unheard of, a sixth-grade magic core was priceless.
Even ng Yang's gaze held an intense curiosity as he looked at Mo Yu. The ability to craft with sixth-grade magic cores implied that his mansion master's skills exceeded all expectations.
Mo Yu's brow furrowed slightly. Although he had anticipated difficulty, the lack of any news still left him sowhat disappointed.
"Understood. Continue searching for information on the Seven-Colored Ancient Vine and soul-attribute magic core. You may go now."
"Yes, mansion master!"
Ling Feng and ng Yang exchanged glances and respectfully took their leave from the hall.
After they left, Mo Yu slowly finished his tea, then made his way to his room.
In his room, Mo Yu sat cross-legged and retrieved a small purple Holy Chalice from his storage ring.
The Holy Chalice was about a foot tall, resembling a smooth jade egg with a faint aura of soul energy emanating from it.
With focused intent, Mo Yu activated his soul power and slowly infused it into the Holy Chalice.
As his soul power entered, a mysterious energy surged within the Holy Chalice, rging with Mo Yu's soul. He quickly felt a powerful energy flow back into his soul, as if nourishing it, gradually enhancing his soul strength.
With this gradual enhancent of his soul power, Mo Yu's brow grew increasingly tense from the mounting strain, but he didn't falter.
Despite the throbbing pain, Mo Yu could sense his soul growing ever stronger.
The Holy Chalice's energy continuously rged with his soul, finally returning the fused soul energy to the center of his brow.
As Mo Yu's soul rged with the warm energy flowing through him, it felt as if his soul was wrapped in a gentle spiritual essence. The warm energy silently perated every part of him, bringing such comfort that he almost couldn't help but let out a soft moan.
Although this enhancent wasn't enough for Mo Yu's soul to reach the fifth rank, after about an hour of continuous growth, the soul power between his brows had notably increased...
This training lasted for two hours before gradually easing off. When Mo Yu finally stopped, the intense headache in his mind had diminished. He sensed that his soul had grown slightly stronger compared to before.
"Not bad. At this rate, in a few more months, I might break through to fifth-rank soul power..."
Mo Yu's lips curved into a slight smile at this thought.
This Minor Holy Chalice was sothing Mo Yu had recently refined. As the head of the mansion, he commanded various refining materials to be gathered for him in just a few days.
With sufficient materials, Mo Yu had used his spare ti after dealing with the tedious affairs of the Yuan Mansion to not only absorb the Erald Blue Crystal, strengthening the Flash Void Breaking Thunder greatly, but also to create this Minor Holy Chalice.
The Minor Holy Chalice was a fourth-grade weapon, so it wasn't challenging for Mo Yu to refine. He successfully crafted it within a few hours.
Today was the first ti Mo Yu used the Minor Holy Chalice to cultivate his soul power, and the results exceeded his expectations.
Rubbing his still-sore brow, Mo Yu felt incredibly pleased. Under normal circumstances, breaking through to fifth-rank soul power would have taken him several years.
Now, with the help of the Minor Holy Chalice, this ti was drastically reduced!
Stretching slowly, Mo Yu put away the Minor Holy Chalice. After a mont of thought, he pulled an ancient, slightly yellowed scroll from his beast ring.
He scrutinized the aged scroll, raising an eyebrow. This mysterious map he'd bought from the Di Yan Auction House didn't seem like sothing ordinary.
Unrolling the scroll, he examined it, shaking his head. "No wonder no one wanted to buy this..."
The scroll was made of a kind of aged parchnt, featuring chaotic patterns that seed to have no logical order. Following a line with his finger led him off the edge of the parchnt, revealing nothing else.
"Did I waste my money on this..." Mo Yu's silver eyes glinted as he frowned at the seemingly aningless scribbles.
As Mo Yu examined the mysterious map closely, She Lao appeared out of nowhere, taking the map from his hands.
Without responding to Mo Yu, She Lao carefully examined the parchnt. Feeling its texture, his pupils slightly narrowed, and a smile crept onto his face.
"She Lao, did you find sothing?" Mo Yu asked in surprise upon seeing his expression.
"I haven't discovered anything specific..." She Lao's cold eyes stayed fixed on the parchnt as he handed it back to Mo Yu, a thoughtful smile on his lips. "But this parchnt seems to be made from Abyss Demon Crocodile skin."
"The Abyss Demon Crocodile is a sixth-rank magical beast. Whoever crafted this map must have been powerful, which suggests there's a hidden secret within it."
"But how do we uncover that secret?" Mo Yu asked, frowning.
"It's said that the Abyss Demon Crocodile, residing in the depths, is among the most formidable in its rank. However, it has a fatal weakness—it fears lightning." She Lao glanced at Mo Yu as he spoke.
"Try striking the parchnt with your Thunder Soul; perhaps you'll uncover sothing unexpected."
At these words, Mo Yu's eyes lit up, and he nodded with a faint smile.
Summoning the Vermilion Burning Sky Thunder with his left hand, the fiery crimson thunder appeared, its terrifying power causing the surrounding space to tremble.
Mo Yu held the parchnt with his right hand, carefully positioning it above the Thunder Soul.
Under his and She Lao's watchful gaze, the Abyss Demon Crocodile skin began to change under the Vermilion Burning Sky Thunder's power.
Mo Yu's silver eyes glead, watching intently as the parchnt transford.
Under the thunder's strike, the once-chaotic lines on the parchnt shifted, forming a clear map.
Mo Yu froze upon seeing the map. Just as he was about to study the terrain it depicted, three words slowly erged at the top of the parchnt, leaving him stunned.
The words read:
Life Devouring Pill!
