BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi Chapter 445 445: The Opportunistic Serpent

After the Ancestral Souls of the Ancient Void Dragon and the Ancient Heavenly Phoenix manifested, the battlefield fell into an eerie silence. Liu Xi ceased his assault on the Ancient Heaven Serpent, while the serpent itself grew even more reckless—flinging Liu Xi aside as it surged into the sky. Its imnse body, wrapped in crimson scales, rose to stand parallel with the dragon and phoenix above the heavens.

From Liu Xi's perspective, the Ancient Heaven Serpent was far inferior to the Ancient Heavenly Phoenix—let alone the Ancient Void Dragon. It was the weakest of the three, yet the most restless.

Cautiously, Liu Xi approached, but kept his distance. The serpent might be courting death, but Qing Lin was still inside its body; he couldn't simply abandon it.

Zi Yan swiftly appeared beside him, her violet eyes wary but calm as she gazed at the three colossal beasts locked in silent confrontation. "Big Brother, it seems the serpent's presence has angered the slumbering Ancestral Souls of the Ancient Void Dragon and Ancient Heavenly Phoenix. What should we do now?"

She paused, then looked up at the towering dragon with reverence. "I can try to reach out to the Ancient Void Dragon's soul—to seek its aid."

Liu Xi said nothing, his gaze sweeping over the trio. The Ancient Void Dragon hovered effortlessly, its aura calm yet boundless. The Ancient Heavenly Phoenix stood poised and vigilant. The Ancient Heaven Serpent, by contrast, bared its nine fanged maws in unrestrained fury.

It was obvious who was strong and who was weak.

The tension built until even the air quivered. The suffocating aura radiating from the three overlords spread across the plain—an ancient pressure heralding the eruption of a primordial battle.

Liu Xi's lips curved into a faint smile. "Let's wait and see. A clash between three ancient supre beasts—this isn't sothing one gets to witness every day."

Zi Yan nodded in agreent.

The air grew colder as murderous intent filled the space. Unsurprisingly, it was the weakest and most unstable—the Ancient Heaven Serpent—that lost control first.

Roar! Roar! Roar!

Nine heads howled in unison as the massive body coiled and launched upward, scarlet scales flashing with a sinister gleam. In an instant, its nine jaws opened, each targeting a vital weak point on the dragon's body.

At that precise mont, the Ancient Heavenly Phoenix's golden eyes flashed coldly. Guided by instinctive combat will, it seized the opportunity and struck.

Its splendid wings unfolded, bathed in divine gold light that shimred like blades. With a piercing cry, the phoenix shot forward, its wings slicing through space and leaving two long black gashes across the air, aid directly at the dragon's neck.

The two ancient beasts—phoenix and serpent—had joined forces, attacking the mightiest of them all, the Ancient Void Dragon.

But instead of retreating, the dragon's eyes blazed with battle lust. Flas of purple light rippled across its scales as it roared and countered head-on.

Its massive claws swept outward, space itself trembling with each motion. Invisible ripples spread like tidal waves. The serpent's advance was halted instantly—one of its nine heads exploded, its remains scattering into glowing dust.

Without flesh or blood, its spirit form disintegrated where struck, while the remaining eight heads shrieked in agony.

Then the dragon turned its gaze toward the phoenix, its slit pupils gleaming with disdain.

With a low growl, its body blurred, moving faster than sight. Its claws clenched into fists, and before the phoenix could react—

Boom!

The Ancient Heavenly Phoenix collided headfirst with the dragon's punch. Its beak shattered with a sickening crack, and its body was hurled backward like a teor.

Even against two ancient overlords, the Ancient Void Dragon fought as if swatting flies—overwhelming both without effort. Its strength was unquestionable.

As expected of the mightiest among the four ancient beast sovereigns—the only race to survive the ages unbroken.

Liu Xi exhaled softly. "So easily… it suppressed both the serpent and the phoenix. Truly terrifying."

Beside him, Zi Yan puffed her chest proudly, eyes sparkling. "Of course! Even the Ancient Heavenly Phoenix and the Ancient Heaven Serpent are nothing compared to our Ancient Void Dragon Tribe."

Liu Xi chuckled. "I see your pride's still intact."

On the battlefield above, the Ancient Void Dragon ignored the weaker serpent and focused entirely on the phoenix, pumling it relentlessly. Each clash of body and claw shook the sky; every collision between wings and scales cracked the heavens apart.

The serpent, having started the chaos, now found itself ignored—an unwelco bystander to a duel of titans.

The world trembled as dragon and phoenix clashed, the void itself shattering under their power. The phoenix's once-golden feathers were torn away in clumps, leaving it ragged and furious, hatred burning in its dimming eyes.

Screech!

A piercing screech split the air as radiant golden light burst from its body, condensing into a massive bell of divine tal that enclosed it completely.

"The Demon Phoenix Bell?" Liu Xi muttered in surprise.

Though he'd never faced the Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe directly, he recognized the aura—the power was unmistakable.

The Ancient Void Dragon glanced at it, unfazed. Purple light surged along its arms, gathering at its claws until they glowed like twin suns.

"Ancient Dragon Dominating Fist!" Zi Yan exclaid. "That's a High-Level Tian Class Dou Technique from my tribe—it allows an Ancient Void Dragon to unleash its full strength!"

Dong! Dong! Dong!

The bell rang thunderously, waves of sound rippling through space and warping reality. Liu Xi frowned, pulling Zi Yan back quickly—those vibrations could shatter even a Dou Zun's body if they were caught in it.

Above, the dragon's claws hamred against the golden bell, each strike exploding with brutal force. The Demon Phoenix Bell quivered, dented and deford.

Then—

Boom!

A deafening blast tore through the air. The bell shattered into fragnts of golden light, disintegrating along with the Ancient Heavenly Phoenix trapped inside.

When the light faded, only the Ancient Void Dragon remained—majestic, unyielding, though its spectral form flickered faintly, showing the toll of its imnse power.

And then, from the edge of the battlefield, the serpent moved.

But instead of attacking the dragon…

It slithered toward the phoenix's fallen remnants, coiling greedily around them.

With eight surviving heads, the Ancient Heaven Serpent began to devour the shattered body of the Ancient Heavenly Phoenix, swallowing its essence and power whole.

Zi Yan stared, dumbfounded. Liu Xi could only smirk helplessly.

"What a shaless snake," he murmured. "Doesn't fight, doesn't win—but sure knows how to take advantage."
