Ved 3 POV
Ved three was flying above the clouds, or atleast where the clouds would’ve been but the sky was clear, infact there were barely any clouds for as far as he could see.
Moonlight shined gently upon his dark scales. He was in a terrible mood until he received a notification.
The avatars can share their mories if they want but there was a mont’s delay. However they received the system notifications simultaneously, regardless of the distance between them.
After checking the system notification, he grinned. His mood lit up a little. ’ Status.’ he whispered in his head.

With all three avatars spread throughout the world, his points were gradually increasing, at this rate he estimated he will evolve in a few years, unfortunately he had yet to co across a rank 4 demonic beast after all this ti.
While flying in the air, his emotions suddenly surged, a sense of fear and despair pierced through his heart like an arrow. Ved frowned.
This was not the first ti he had experienced this. His king’s authority made him very sensitive to the emotions of spiritual beasts.
During his ti in this place he has learnt a disturbing fact. The humans here didn’t treat spiritual beasts like intelligent lifeforms but savage wild beasts.
So they were hunted as such, unfortunately most were low rank and couldn’t use will transmission so they couldn’t even beg the humans but their eyes did.
Ved had seen it, the humans laughing as they slaughtered the spiritual beasts in cold blood. At first Ved wanted to ignore it, afterall it was hard for him to choose.
Deep down he still considered himself as part human but his authority made that impossible. Feeling their emotions made him more empathetic towards the spiritual beasts.
So he had chased back a few groups of humans to save so spiritual beast clans but he tried his best to not kill anybody.
Even now he was still not keen on killing humans. While his faith in them had lessened even further, he still had hope, hope for coexistence even though he knew it was unlikely.
And now he was feeling it again, the pain and fear of a beast. He dropped from the sky like a teor. Below him he saw a group of over 40 humans chasing after a small group of spiritual beasts.
A rank 2 five tailed fox was protecting the rest from the humans. Her white fur had turned red from her own blood, one of her five tails swung through the air blocking a sword strike.
" It’s almost out of energy, hold on a little longer boys and we got ourselves a little kitsune." Said a man while laughing. " Quit playing around, let capture it fast and go back." A won’s cold voice followed.
Amongst the humans, the two of them were the only rank 2, the man was wielding a sword and the woman had a bow and a quiver of arrows on her back.
Ved could tell the fox was stronger than them individually but against both of them she was struggling, plus there were 38 others supporting them.
The beasts she was protecting were either too young, wounded or pregnant and couldn’t help her in this fight at all.
Pink flas ignited on her tails, she swung them around like whips forcing the humans to retreat.
Pink mist spread out towards them but the bow woman fired an arrow which exploded into a giant gust of wind and dispersed the mist.
The man swung his sword, a blue crescent slash flew at the fox and cut a small wound on her tail. This was another disadvantage of beasts.
They didn’t use weapons and depended solely on their bodies and contesting with weapons with their own bodies put them at a massive disadvantage.
This was especially true for those beasts whose abilities did not revolve around having a strong body like this fox and her ability for example, her mist ability was constantly being blocked.
She was scared but not for herself, her fear was failing to protect those who stood behind her, this touched Ved.
Attacks flew at her, the other humans attacked, even though their attacks weren’t strong enough to threaten her they were nurous.
She waved her tails blocking most of the attacks but with the two rank 2 humans in the mix, so of those attacks slipped through her defences and reached her body.
More wounds accumulated on her, she coughed up blood, her legs beca shaky and Ved could tell she was not far from losing this battle, she was holding on through sheer willpower alone.

Fox POV
’ I have to hold on, I can’t fail them,not again. I will make these humans pay for everything they’ve done, they will pay for all they’ve taken from , from us.’
She was seething with rage but also with fear. Fear of failure, she had people who depended on her, she was their last hope and she would rather die with pride like her parents than abonden them.
She had made a promise that one day she would rescue her older sister from the humans but no matter how many tis she tried to convince herself deep down she knew, this was probably going to be her last day.
These humans were nurous, she couldn’t figh them all off, especially not with those two who were as strong as her in the mix, dealing with those two alone was already hard enough.
She felt her eyes close on their own and her legs beca unsteady, she stumbled forward but steadied herself. ’ Get yourself together Fern, you can’t fall now, not now.’
She saw the male human looking at her with those lewd eyes she had seen so often from his kind. He raised his sword and pointed it at her then grinned.
" Just give up little fox, it will make things easier, for all of us." The man gave her a disgusting smile.
She tried to move but her body felt weak. She had lost too much blood, she felt dispair pierce her heart, tears started streaming down and that seed to please him even more but a few of them looked uncomfortable, the woman looked at her with indifference.
Her body fell to side, unable to remain standing any longer, she knew she was going to die but she still wished for a miracle. ’ Sobody, please... help.’
BOOOOM, sothing crashed infront of her sending a cloud of dust and stone in every direction. Before she fainted she felt a mountainous yet gently aura cover her like a warm blanket then everything went black.
