The smile vanished from Yu An’s face. "Are you threatening ?"

"It’s not a threat," Feng Xuan said, crossing his arms as if certain Yu An would agree. "The exiled land is harsh and cold, no place for a Zaizai to live. I can give you plenty of Gold Coins, enough for you to live comfortably for the rest of your life."

"So capable, are you?" Yu An said bluntly. "Then let’s see so of that capability. How about fifty thousand Gold Coins up front?"

Though he didn’t quite understand what the Beast Father was trying to do, he knew that as long as he was the Young City Lord, the guards of Han Ling City would obey his command.

Yu An sighed, pulled the two of them apart, and looked Feng Xuan straight in the eye. "Then make your move. So long as you’re not afraid of Da Hu hating you, his Beast Father."

Feng Xuan froze.

A cub’s affection for their Female Mother was much deeper than for their Beast Father. He truly wasn’t sure if Da Hu would see him as an enemy if he hurt Yu An.

But he was unwilling to let his own bloodline suffer here. Just as they were at a stalemate, a soft, sleepy voice sounded from behind them.

"Female Mother, what are you all doing?"
