"I’m fine." Yu An was montarily dazzled, but she quickly snapped out of it. "You’re the one whose voice I heard earlier?!"

She pushed the man away and quickly put so distance between them, her eyes full of undisguised caution.

The man chuckled. "Don’t be afraid. I won’t hurt you."

Yu An didn’t believe him. "Who are you, and why did you separate from my Beast Husband?"

She would much rather be with Lan Yin than this strange male.

"Beast Husband?"

The man scoffed. "He’s so weak. Little female, what do you even see in him?"

"Why not let be your Beast Husband instead? I’m much stronger than he is."

He smiled. "Look. This is my ho, and now, it’s yours too."

As the mist dispersed, Yu An realized she was on a small island. Not far off stood a manor, glittering brilliantly under the sun.

To Yu An’s surprise, the manor wasn’t built in a style typical of the Beast World Continent. It looked more like... European architecture!

While she stood there stunned, the man stepped forward and wrapped an arm around her waist. "Female Master, care for a tour of our future ho?"

"Wait—"

Yu An pushed his hand away, keeping her distance. "Don’t call that. I never agreed to you being my Beast Husband."

"And another thing, release Lan Yin. Or you won’t like what happens next!"

’I don’t know if he’s a friend or an enemy. His tone is gentle now, but he could turn vicious at any mont.’

When he returned to the place where he and Yu An had been separated, she was gone. Lan Yin clenched the short vine in his hand and tossed it into the air.

Yu An had tossed it to him when they were holding hands. The vine grew rapidly in the air, instantly climbing from the sea’s surface all the way to the clouds.

Lan Yin’s tail transford back into legs, which were now covered in wounds of all sizes. He seized the vine and began to climb upward.
