Wu Chang sat next to Amber and was the first to speak:
"Miss Amber, I need an explanation."
Amber chewed her bread, her gaze undescribably complicated, containing both grievance and fear.
Gulp.
She swallowed the food in her mouth, then said:
"There's nothing to explain, it was ."
Wu Chang raised an eyebrow, "The reason?"
Amber was sowhat reluctant but replied half-heartedly: "He wanted to kill ."
Kill you?
Wu Chang pursed his lips, saying nothing.
The boy who fell was nad Dean; he had been to the dical room and knew his condition.
The boy was late to develop; Dean was a year younger than Amber, with a height of only 1.3 ters compared to Amber's 1.5 ters, shorter by an entire head.
It's hard to imagine the little kid daring to attack Amber, let alone achieve the degree of killing.
But Wu Chang's inspiration told him Amber wasn't lying.
Wu Chang asked, "Do you have a feud?"
As far as he knew, Dean and Amber weren't in the sa class and rarely interacted.
Wu Chang continued asking, "Did he ask you to co to the rooftop?"
Amber's voice grew smaller, "No, I ca on my own."
Wu Chang further asked, "How did he attack you, how do you know he wanted to kill you?"
Amber's voice was already faintly audible, "I don't know, just a feeling."
The two had no grievance, nor was there an agreed-upon ti; they happened to et on the rooftop by coincidence. Dean caused no harm to Amber, and there was no evidence sufficient to threaten Amber's life, yet Amber just felt he wanted to kill her and threw Dean off the rooftop.
Anyone else would have thought either Amber was lying, exaggerating to the point she couldn't manage the lie, or she had ntal issues, a persecution complex.
Even Amber herself felt untenable; she seed to have exhausted all her strength, turned her face to the side, and demonstrated a refusal to communicate.
But Wu Chang was different; although he detected no anomaly on Dean or the rooftop, he still believed sothing was amiss.
Firstly, it was a feeling; he could feel Amber was not lying, especially when stating Dean wanted to kill her, Amber was sending him an SOS.
Secondly, Amber had hidden side quest tasks; having hidden side tasks indicated that Amber's identity or experiences must be extraordinary, encountering so weird things wasn't far-fetched.
Wu Chang was silent for a mont, then spoke: "Miss Amber, you've said a lot, but that's not the explanation I'm looking for."
Amber had already planned to do as before, not speaking another word to Wu Chang, but hearing this sentence, she couldn't help but turn her head.
If not this explanation, then what?
Wu Chang put on a radiant smile, showing a set of white teeth, his trademark expression, a mouthful of genuine teeth.
