"Bunny, I’m sorry."
Wangxin spoke softly, her fingers gently stroking the rabbit’s soft back, her voice filled with guilt.
"I shouldn’t have shaved off a patch of your fur... I’m truly sorry."
"But don’t worry, it’ll grow back soon."
"And don’t get caught by anyone again, okay?"
"Goodbye, bunny."
In the mountain forest, Wangxin gently patted the doe’s head, then gave its rump a little push, motioning for it to leave.
The doe hopped forward a few steps, then glanced back at Wangxin one last ti before bounding away with light thumps. It soon disappeared deep into the woods.
"It’s gone."
Standing to the side, Xiao Mo glanced at Wangxin and spoke calmly before turning to walk down the mountain.
Wangxin got to her feet and quickly trotted to catch up.
She tilted her head slightly, a hint of confusion in her eyes, and asked softly, "Xiao Mo, do I really not need to practice?"
"You are a disciple of the Buddhist School, not soone from the Demon Dao."
Xiao Mo replied indifferently, his gaze still fixed ahead.
"Besides, when I kill soone, I always do it myself. I don’t need your help."
"But... the Blood Evil Qi on you..." Wangxin hesitated, her voice trailing off. "What if one day you can’t control it..."
"That day will never co." Xiao Mo cut her off, his tone resolute. "The Blood Demon is still perfectly fine. I’m not worse than her."
Xiao Mo turned his head, looking directly into Wangxin’s eyes, and said seriously, "On the contrary, if you try to dissipate my Evil Qi on your own again... then next ti, I will absolutely send you back to Kongnian Temple. Do you understand?"
Wangxin lowered her head like a little girl being scolded and answered in a small voice, "I understand..."
"Good."
Xiao Mo lightly tapped her on the head and looked ahead.
Wangxin gazed at Xiao Mo’s profile.
’Xiao Mo’s deep eyes always make feel like he’s hiding sothing from , but I can’t seem to read his heart...’
「Four days later.」
When Xiao Mo was less than half a month’s journey from the Black Dragon Sect, he stopped in his tracks without any warning.
Wangxin, still walking forward, bumped right into Xiao Mo’s back.
"Xiao Mo?" Wangxin looked up in confusion.
The mont the words left Wangxin’s mouth, Xiao Mo spun around, pulled her aside, and drew his Spirit-Collecting Blade in a single motion.
"BOOM!"
A flash of blood-red blade light slashed through the air, and a massive boulder exploded into dust.
From behind the boulder, a woman in a light gauze dress gracefully flew out.
"My, my, Young Master Xiao, you scared to death."
The woman cooed, patting her heaving chest.
She had an oval face and an even complexion, like a freshly ripened peach with a soft, downy glow. Her eyebrows were long and slender, not deliberately trimd, but naturally curved like distant, misty mountains. The corners of her eyes tilted up slightly, and her straight nose sloped down with a gentle line to et her full lips.
Those lips were lush, a natural crimson. Their corners were always turned up slightly, carrying an alluring charm even without a touch of rouge.
Wangxin stared at the woman in amazent, thinking how beautiful she was.
The skin of her exposed neck and slender wrists was especially fair, as if carved from the finest mutton-fat jade and polished so smooth you could almost see the faint blue veins beneath.
"Si Li of Ten Thousand Flowers Peak greets Young Master Xiao."
Looking at Xiao Mo’s murderous expression, Si Li seed completely unafraid. Instead, she offered a graceful curtsy.
"Here to die?"
Even when faced with this incredibly bewitching woman, Xiao Mo’s expression remained unchanged. The long blade in his hand was already humming, as if ready to cleave down at her with the next strike.
However, Xiao Mo did know a little about her.
Xiao Mo recalled that the Peak Master of Ten Thousand Flowers Peak had taken on a female disciple.
This disciple was born with a natural allure, making her pri material for practicing Charm Techniques and Dual Cultivation Techniques.
And due to her unique constitution, the Cultivation Technique she practiced was different from everyone else’s at Ten Thousand Flowers Peak.
This technique Si Li cultivated, the Sun and Moon Heart Technique, was an extrely difficult and peculiar Cultivation Technique.
The reason the Sun and Moon Heart Technique was called peculiar was that, although it was a Dual Cultivation Technique, one could reach the Immortal Realm without ever dual cultivating.
Only if you wanted to cultivate faster, or break through from the Immortal Realm into the Ascension Realm, did you need to dual cultivate with soone else.
Furthermore, once a woman practicing the Sun and Moon Heart Technique dual cultivated with a man, their karmic fates would beco intertwined.
For the rest of her life, she could only be with that one person. If another man so much as touched her, she would suffer an endless backlash.
Because of the technique, the woman would never even develop feelings for any other man.
It wasn’t as if a woman practicing the Sun and Moon Heart Technique could just find any random man, either.
The higher the man’s talent, the more beneficial it was for the woman’s cultivation.
If her partner’s talent was low, it would even have the opposite effect.
"That’s a bit harsh, Young Master Xiao. I certainly didn’t co here to die."
Si Li’s lips curved upward. As she spoke, her gaze swept nonchalantly over Wangxin.
Although Si Li had always been extrely confident in her own looks, the mont she saw this Buddhist Saintess, she couldn’t help but feel a pang of inferiority.
"I didn’t an to hide," Si Li said with a light laugh. "I just saw you walking with Sister Wangxin, Young Master Xiao, and worried I might disturb your peace, so I hid myself away for a mont."
"Get to the point."
Even facing this woman of natural allure, Xiao Mo still seed extrely impatient.
Even though Si Li’s beauty was outstanding among won and had chard countless disciples of the Wandao Sect, Xiao Mo simply didn’t care.
"Oh, dear. Young Master Xiao is as impatient as ever." Si Li wasn’t offended; in fact, her smile deepened. "I sought you out this ti because I’d like to discuss a partnership with you."
"A partnership?" A half-smile played on Xiao Mo’s lips, his interest seemingly piqued. "Between you and ? What could we possibly partner on?"
"It’s simple."
Si Li took graceful, lotus-like steps toward Xiao Mo.
A breeze blew past, causing her gauze skirt to stir and cling to her body, outlining her graceful curves and ample roundness.
"You aim for the position of Wandao Sect’s Saint Heir, and you certainly have the power for it. But you should understand, Young Master Xiao, that strength alone is not enough to manage a Sect."
Her voice was soft and charming, yet every word was clear.
"You’ll need soone... to manage things for you."
"Stop beating around the bush." Xiao Mo’s tone turned cold.
"Alright, alright," Si Li said, seeing his displeasure. The charm in her eyes, however, didn’t diminish in the slightest.
"I have no interest in the Saint Heir position, nor am I interested in becoming the Sect Leader of the Wandao Sect in the future."
She paused for a mont, her lashes fluttering as her gaze, like silken threads, wound its way up to him.
"But I am... quite interested in becoming the Sect Leader’s Wife."
