“I don’t have the ability to do that, and besides, if you have the ability, why don’t you go handle it yourself?”

“Because she’s beautiful!” Xu Mingzhe answered plainly. “Her intelligence is top-notch; her ability to make money is impressive. Marrying a debutante or heiress might bring short-term benefits, but from a long-term perspective, marrying Qiu Ruoxi is the smarter choice. Plus, I happen to like her, don’t I?”
“But she doesn’t like you. Your constant advances are probably making her freeze you out even more.”
Xu Mingzhe’s face turned dark instantly. “Can you damn well stop talking to like that?”
Black Ghost chuckled slyly. “Boss, it’s not that I don’t want to talk nicely, but I honestly don’t understand. These things are upper-class problems—it’s not sothing a re bodyguard like should worry about.”
“And you won’t even let get close to Qiu Ruoxi…”
“Shut up!” Xu Mingzhe cursed. “With your mug, you want to get close to Qiu Ruoxi? Go back to the womb and get rebuilt first!”
“Well then, since you don’t need rebuilding, why don’t you go win her over already?” Black Ghost sneered nonchalantly.
Xu Mingzhe’s face darkened further.
Other people’s bodyguards are all obedient, agreeing with whatever their boss says without a word of dissent. But his own bodyguard? No, this one has absolutely no sense of restraint.
“Boss, don’t be mad. But honestly, Yan Qingdi clearly has other motives. Shouldn’t we investigate?” Black Ghost said, trying to reassure Xu Mingzhe.

“Alright, I’ll make arrangents and help you look into it!” Black Ghost replied promptly.

“Nothing much, I just wanted to ask you sothing.”
“What would that be?”
“Do you think Yan Qingdi has attempted to sche against Ye Xunhuan behind the scenes?”
“No idea!” Black Ghost shook his head decisively. “You guys up in the high-society circles are all a bunch of sick hypocrites who are so devious it’s terrifying. Even if soone made a move, they’d make damn sure nobody knows.”
“Otherwise, Yan Qingdi would’ve been beaten so badly by Ye Xunhuan that even his own parents wouldn’t recognize him by now!”
Xu Mingzhe’s lips twitched involuntarily. “Get lost—just get the hell out of here!”
Seeing this, Black Ghost chuckled and left the villa directly.
After Black Ghost departed, Xu Mingzhe fell into silent contemplation.
With him constantly making moves on Qiu Ruoxi—even frequently spending ti around her—how is Ye Xunhuan tolerating it?
Is it because Ye Xunhuan has absolute confidence in Qiu Ruoxi?
