Gu Mengmeng was stunned for a moment before she burst out into laughter.
She should not be blamed for being a lovestruck fool but Gregory really had a serious face when he used a serious tone that was meant for reading ‘Mind Clearing Spell’ to say such romantic lines. It was too special, too hilarious, and too mushy that it was extraordinary.
“You said that there is a term called ‘reciprocate courtesy’ in your world?” Gregory did not care about Gu Mengmeng’s foolish laughter. Regardless of what she did, she would always seem adorable in his eyes.
Gu Mengmeng nodded as a response to his question.
Gregory looked down and laughed softly, “I think this term is great, I like it.”
“Hmm?” Gu Mengmeng looked at Gregory in confusion.
Gregory was a little reluctant but he still replied, “I gave you a gift you life, shouldn’t you reciprocate and give me a gift to make my mood better?”
Gu Mengmeng unwrapped the beast skin and said, “You have seen for yourself, I don’t have anything on me, so I don’t have a gift for you. But I will note it down and prepare a gift for you once we go down the mountain, how about that?”
Gregory shook his head, saying, “I want it now.”
“But I don’t have anything now.” Gu Mengmeng shrugged her shoulders helplessly.
“You have.” Gregory ascertained.
Gu Mengmeng’s lips jerked and her face became unpleasant.
They agreed on not being partners, Gregory must not have…
“What do you want? Say it first.” Gu Mengmeng had already been overthought things once, and did not want to make the same mistake again so she felt that it was better for her to clear things up.
Gregory’s face was slightly red and his ears turned suspiciously pink.
“Since I already have a title, shouldn’t you give me something… special…”
Gu Mengmeng looked at Gregory’s embarrassed look and her heart skipped. She took a step back and tightened her grip around the beast skin and said with her guards up, “Gregory, we have been interacting well these days but I think of you as my family… I cannot do that.”
Gregory looked at Gu Mengmeng’s cautious expression and his eyes darkened. He lowered his head in disappointment and said, “Alright, since you are unwilling… then I will be like everyone else in the future, and always call you by Gu Mengmeng…”
“Hold on.” Gu Mengmeng blinked and felt that she had overthought things again, so she asked, “What is ‘something special’ that you want?”
“Nickname.” Gregory said in an upset tone.
Gu Mengmeng held her forehead and she felt relieved and did not know whether to laugh or cry.
Right, how could she forget. The males in the Beast World like to give their female partners a nickname.
Lea called her Mengmeng, Elvis called her Xiao Meng, Snakel called her Twomeng and even Cole that psychopath called her Ah Gu.
It was a great recognition and satisfaction to a male when they have a unique nickname for their female. Auretin did not have it because he did not need it – he did not need anything other than braised meat.
Gu Mengmeng rubbed against Gregory’s body and took the initiative to lean on his shoulders, as she smiled, “I thought you were referring to something else. Isn’t it just a name? Alright, what do you want to call me?”
“I really can?” The hope that returned after he fell into despair made his eyes light up.
Gu Mengmeng nodded and said, “You can, just give me a name, so long as it’s not too disgusting I can accept it.”
Gregory pursed his lips and said hesitantly, “Baby Meng…”
Gu Mengmeng looked at Gregory with widened eyes. Baby Meng? Wasn’t that the name of a bun?”
