During the first round of the tournant, each academy had five matches to complete. Three matches in team mode and two matches in solo mode. Each match granted 10 points for the winning academy regardless of the mode. The total amount of points that an academy could get during the first round of the tournant was 50 points and that was in the case that they won all their matches.
An academy had to get a minimum of 30 points to advance to the second round of the tournant so it was still fine if they lost a few matches.
This had already been explained to the students before they ca to the tournant venue so they had all prepared to fight multiple tis in the first round.
The bracket line-up for the first round soon appeared in the air, projected by the floating orbs of projections.
The eyes of everyone present were imdiately attracted to the list as they started to check who their opponents would be. The Dragonic Magic Academy was the sa as well.
Since 27 Magic Academies were participating and all of them had five matches, the bracket that had appeared was extrely huge and had a lot written on it; although it was divided into two segnts which were solo and team mode.
Alex soon found the na of his academy on the bracket. For the team mode, their first match was against the HollowWay Magic Academy, which was ranked 21st in the previous tournant, directly below the Dragonic Magic Academy.
Their second match was against the Windre Magic Academy which was ranked 16th in the previous tournant.
And their last match for team mode in the first round was against the Crimson Tide Magic Academy, which was ranked 9th in the previous tournant!
Alex didn’t know which of the surrounding academies was the Crimson Tide Magic Academy, but to be ranked in 9th place, the Dragonic Magic would probably lose to them.
As for the solo mode, in which he was participating, Alex saw that his first match was against the Black Rose Magic Academy, which was in 12th place previously, while his second match was against the Thunder Peak Magic Academy, which was ranked 6th during the previous tournant.
Alex was relaxed even after seeing which Magic Academy he would be going up against. To him, it didn’t really matter even if it was the Sacred City Magic Academy, which was ranked 1st place in the last tournant, that was his opponent; there was no chance of them winning.
Speaking of which, Alex searched for the nas of the top three Magic Academies from the previous tournant and saw that none of them were going against each other in the first round of the tournant. Well, such a thing shouldn’t be surprising, having the strongest Academies face each other at the end of the tournant would be more exciting for the spectators.
The students and teachers of the Dragonic Magic Academy had also found out who their opponents were going to be and many of the students were already lanting.
It was just the first round and they were already getting difficult opponents. Aside from the HollowWay Magic Academy, all of the other opponent academies were in the top 20! It was even more horrible in the solo mode bracket, Alex would be going up against an academy that was in the top 10 and another that was in 12th place.
Did they even have hopes of winning? This was a nightmare!
To be eliminated in the first round of the tournant, just how bad was their luck?
Contrary to the nervous expressions of the students, the teachers had calm faces as they stared at the brackets. The vice dean turned her head after staring at the brackets for a while and looked at Alex and the other four.
"Our luck isn’t too bad this ti around, as long as we win two matches in the team mode and one in the solo mode, we’ll be able to move to the second round with the minimum point requirent." She said with an encouraging smile.
Glen, Alia, Ryan, and Jason nodded with determined expressions, Alia clenching her fists tightly. The vice dean glanced at Alex, who still had a relaxed expression; he didn’t seem particularly excited or nervous about his opponents like the others.
"Alex, you’ll be facing the Black Rose Magic Academy and the Thunder Peak Magic Academy. Are you confident?" The vice dean asked with a smile, causing everyone to look in Alex’s direction.
"What do you think?" Alex asked back without looking at the vice dean, his eyes fixed on the brackets in the sky.
The students and teachers "..."
They were shocked by Alex’s words, speaking to the vice dean in such a manner; how rude!
Teacher Arnold had it worse, he felt like exploding on the spot and blasting Alex with a few spells. How dare he talk so casually to the vice dean? It felt like a hard slap had landed on his cheeks!
Contrary to the reactions of everyone else, the smile of the vice dean widened. Alex’s casual response showed just how relaxed he wasn’t even though his opponents were highly ranked in the last tournant.
That’s right, he had the space elent!
"Good, do your best and win both if you can." The vice dean said before turning her gaze away.
)
Everyone "..."
They were shocked that the vice dean didn’t scold Alex for speaking so rudely to her and even encouraged him instead. Win both if he can? Those two were ranked way higher than their academy. How was Alex supposed to win against them?
The vice dean didn’t pay them any attention and returned to looking at the brackets. After so ti, the brackets disappeared, and another list appeared; it was the order of the matches.
Each academy would have one team mode fight every day for two days straight, and on the third day, it would be for solo modes. Then the last team mode fight on the fourth day, and the last solo fight would end the week.
The next week would be the start of the second round.
For today, Dragonic Magic Academy’s fight against the HollowWay Magic Academy was going to be the 17th fight to take place in the afternoon. They were free to watch or go do other things before the ti for their match.
But who would leave the tournant to go do sothing else? What was more important than watching other academies that would potentially be your future opponents’ fight?
The first match today was between the Fierce Storm Magic Academy, which was ranked 5th, and the Prodigies Magic, which was ranked 13th.
As for the top three Magic Academies, their matches were 5th, 26th, and 19th. They were practically scattered across the list and looked like they weren’t given priority for fighting first.
Ti passed slowly as everyone observed the list of matches for the day. After so ti, the list disappeared and the nas of the two academies whose matches were first appeared in the air.
[FIERCE STORM MAGIC ACADEMY VS THE PRODIGIES MAGIC ACADEMY]
"Without further delay, let the first match of the tournant begin!" Clint’s voice rang through the entire stadium as the nas of the two academies floated in the air.
