Alex stared at the woman who had fallen to the ground after he apparently startled her. The young lady looked to be in her late twenties, she was rather good-looking with an innocent face that stared back at Alex’s mask; her eyes looked like she was about to cry.
Similarly, other pairs of eyes inside the room also stared at Alex, shocked by his sudden appearance.
’What is this awkwardness?’ Alex sighed inwardly.
"Are you alright?" He asked the woman while gently waving his left hand and using his mana to lift her. This move surprised the young lady even more and she was unable to reply to Alex instantly.
"Ah, Mr Chen! You finally ca, I’ve been thinking of how to reach you for so ti now."
Before the awkward air could grow thicker, Maria’s happy voice pierced the air, causing everyone to look at her and then back at Alex.
"You were looking for ?" Alex turned away from the woman and faced Maria.
"Yes, there’s sothing I wanted to report to you concerning what you asked for the last ti," Maria said before turning to face the others in the room.
"Sorry if his entrance surprised you, he always does this. Please et Mr Chen, I believe you must have all heard about him before." Maria said with a smile.
Only now did Alex pay attention to the others inside the room, his expression turned into one of surprise when he realised that everyone present in the room were won.
"So you’re Mr Chen. I’ve heard a lot about you, it’s an honour to et you." One of the won stepped forward and said with a bright smile.
Alex stared back at her without saying anything. He saw that she was at the Grand Archmage rank, which was quite powerful even in Brandvel City.
Seeing how Alex didn’t reply, the woman chuckled and said. "Please forgive my rudeness, I forgot to introduce myself. My na’s Caroline Frigs, I’m the leader of the Bloody Regina explorer group."
"Nice to et you too," Alex said while quickly trying to rember where he had heard that na before. He quickly rembered that a student at the university had once ntioned them, he happened to be passing by and the words had fallen into his ears.
The Bloody Regina explorer group was an explorer group of only won with quite a lot of mbers. They were very influential in Brandvel City since many of their mbers were high-ranking mages with their leader coming from a big family.
Anyways, Alex didn’t really care; he had no business with an explorer group that accepted only won, it wasn’t like he could enter.
"I’ll wait for you in your office," Alex turned to Maria and said, he was about to leave when Caroline stopped him.
"What?" Alex asked in a neutral tone.
"I believe that Mr Chen hasn’t joined any explorer group yet, I want to invite you to join our group. Beco a mber of the Bloody Regina." She said with a wide smile, her eyes flashing with anticipation.
Alex "..."
He wasn’t the only one who was shocked, Maria and the other won were shocked by Caroline’s words too.
Mr Chen should join the Bloody Regina, isn’t the Bloody Regina a group of only won?
"Sorry but I’m not a woman so I can’t join," Alex replied with a flat tone.
"I know that, we can make an exception for you." Caroline quickly stated while still smiling.
Alex "..."
Everyone present "..."
If one didn’t know Caroline, they might think that she was an easy person who was very accommodating to suggestions. But those who knew her were aware of her true character, she was the true definition of law and order.
This was why Maria and the other won were shocked speechless by her words, they found it hard to believe that they were looking at the sa person.
"I’ll think about it," Alex said after a slight pause and then used Void Walk to disappear before Caroline could say anything else.
He appeared in Maria’s office the next second and went to sit down while thinking.
Wouldn’t Mr Chen’s reputation be destroyed if he joined a female-only explorer group? How would the other groups see him? Not that he really cared but still.
In the anti, while he waited for Maria to co back, Alex summoned his system profile to see what was new.
So ti later, Maria returned.
"I apologise for that, Caroline isn’t usually like that." Was the first thing Maria said after entering the office and seeing Mr Chen?
Although a faint smile still hooked the corner of her lips, hinting that she still found what happened back there funny.
Alex didn’t reply and just stared at her.
"Ahem, but you should try and stop popping out of nowhere so suddenly, not everyone can handle it." Maria cleared her throat and said while Alex recalled the reaction of the woman earlier when he appeared in front of her.
"She’s alright," was all he said.
Maria shook her head with a helpless laugh when she heard this, he obviously wasn’t planning to stop appearing out of nowhere.
"Nevermind, there’s sothing else. Mr Chen, I honestly think you should get a communicator. It’s impossible to reach you unless you decide to show up, it would be easier to contact you if you get a communicator." She stated.
"I’ll think about it, why were you looking for ?" Alex asked, brushing off the topic of getting a communicator.
"I inford Vice President Lucas about your request. He managed to get in contact with President Femi from the first continent and he has agreed to et you, it seems like he was even waiting for you to co." Maria reported.
"Hmm, thank you," Alex replied softly.
"You’re welco. So what can I help you with today? You don’t co here without reasons,"
"I want to ask about soone," Alex muttered.
"Who is that?"
"Frenzied Killer,"
"Explorer frenzied killer? What did he do? I hope he didn’t offend you." Maria remarked.
"Nothing, I just want to know about him," Alex explained.
"Oh, if that’s the case. Frenzied Killer is one of the strongest explorers in Brandvel City but he’s rarely in the City and spends his ti hunting down mbers of the Dark Union.
He’s quite dedicated. Co to think of it, he hasn’t returned in recent years." Maria said.
"I see. How strong is he?" Alex asked once more.
"The last ti I saw him, he was at the Supre mage rank. It has only been about 3 or 4 years since then, I don’t think he has gotten any stronger. Why are you asking about him? Just curious." Maria inquired.
"Yes, just curious." Was all Alex said before dropping the topic.
"If you say so. When are you going to et President Femi?"
"Hmm, I’m free today."
Maria "..."
"Please wait a mont," she said and took out her communicator before calling soone.
...
So ti later. Alex appeared in a large room after the bright light of the formation underneath his feet subsided. He looked around the place with curiosity.
"It looks just like the teleportation room in the Union building at Brandvel City," he mumbled to himself.
"Welco to the first continent, Mr Chen. Please, follow ."
