Alex had heard about the explorer groups before, they were a group ford by explorers who didn’t want to join the Union but didn’t want to go solo either.
They would accept missions from the Union and individuals alike for benefits. Many of the explorer groups were actually owned by various big families, and they paid their mbers quite well.
They would also go out to explore on their own and sell whatever they brought back to others in the comrcial district, the Union was not the only place that bought beast corpses and mana cores after all.
But as for joining one, Alex wasn’t interested since it would delay his progress. How could he farm exp in peace with others tagging along?
Just like when Owen tried to invite him to the Union, Alex was about to refuse when a voice sounded from the side, interrupting the two of them.
"What nonsense are you spitting? Such loads of crap, the Rising Wave is a weak group and only knows how to swindle ignorant explorers into joining you. The only reputable thing about your group is that your leader once attended a mage university, but even then, he was kicked out for not making good progress."
Both Alex and the blond-haired man turned to look at the newcor. It was a pretty woman who looked to be in her late twenties and had an explosion figure that was barely covered by her cropped top and short pants. The woman walked toward the two of them with three other people walking behind her.
All eyes imdiately turned on the four of them after hearing the woman’s words, and those around began to whisper to one another while throwing glances at the pretty woman and the three behind her.
Alex also noticed that the expression on the face of the blond-haired man took a drastic turn as he stared at the approaching four.
This made Alex curious; he could see that the woman was also at the Adept mage rank, and so were the three people behind her. Why was this person so afraid of her, and why had the four of them drawn so much attention that even the few core mages were looking at them?
"W-what do you want? My Rising Wave group approached him first!" The blind haired man voiced out, trying to act tough, but the panic in his voice was too obvious.
The woman let out a wicked smile as she completely ignored the man and stood right in front of Alex, her large chest almost touching him as she looked up at his white mask.
"The highest offer always wins, right?" The woman asked with a seductive smile; she seed to be talking to Alex, but anyone could tell that those words were ant for the blond-haired man behind her.
The latter’s body was trembling, and his hands were clenched, but he didn’t do anything as the three people who were behind the woman earlier stared at him with aningful eyes.
Alex stared down at the woman’s face without bending his neck. Her strong scent passed through his mask and entered his nose, and his face turned bright red behind his mask.
’Goodness, who’s this person? Too close, too close!’
Alex exclaid inwardly as he tried to stay calm, but he was finding it difficult. After all, this was the closest he had been to a female that wasn’t a relative, not to ntion one that had an adult charm and was barely dressed!
Thankfully, because of his robe and mask, no one could tell his reaction and could only guess.
Smiling, the woman spoke up again.
"You must be new, but I can already tell that you’re important since an elder had personally welcod you the other day.
Co, join my Dark Star explorer group. We’re the biggest explorer group in Balon City, and you’ll enjoy lots of privileges." The woman said softly and winked at Alex, cutely as she pushed closer and rubbed her chest against Alex.
Blood imdiately rushed to Alex’s head, and he unconsciously took a step back from the woman; his heart was beating wildly, and his face was as red as a tomato. But due to his robe and mask, he still looked calm and seed to have only shifted back because he didn’t like the woman’s action.
Aside from that, Alex was shocked after hearing the woman’s words. The Dark Star explorer group! He knew that group from the mories he had received from the previous Alex.
They were really the biggest explorer group in Balon City with over a hundred mbers and many families as their foundation, many explorers who didn’t want to join the Union would naturally jump at this chance without a mont of hesitation.
Not to ntion how the woman had behaved at the end of her invitation, he could already imagine the additional privileges aside from wealth that awaited him if he really joined.
The woman wasn’t offended by Alex moving away from her, she just stood there with a provocative smile on her face while hugging her two large pairs.
"So what do you say? Want to co with us right away?" She asked.
However, soone suddenly called out to Alex at this mont.
"Mr Chen?"
Everyone stopped and turned to look; they saw Owen, one of the elders of the Union branch, walking from the direction of the elevator.
Alex looked as well, and he secretly breathed a sigh of relief; soone had finally co to save him; he almost lost himself for a mont.
Owen glanced around, and his gaze soon stopped on the faces of the woman and the three people from the Dark Star group. His gaze narrowed as he walked over.
’These people from the Dark Star group again, don’t they have enough powerful mbers already? They have no idea who Mr Chen is, I hope they haven’t offended him yet.’ Owen thought to himself as he walked over.
He had been inford not long ago that Mr Chen had entered the Union building and had imdiately rushed down, but he ca to see the mbers of the biggest explorer group trying to cause trouble.
How vexing!
Reaching where Alex and the others were, Owen shot a glare at the pretty woman before stating.
"Mr Chen is a respected guest of this Union branch, all of you better stay away and not offend him."
He then invited Alex to co with him after saying that, and the two of them left together, leaving everyone speechless.
The lips of the pretty woman curled into a wider smile, now she was getting more interested in this masked person.
anwhile, Owen brought Alex to the elevator, and both of them ascended the Union building.
Owen apologised for what had happened on the lower floor along the way, and Alex said it was all right.
They went straight to business after that. Just like the last ti, Owen brought Mr Chen to a large room where he would drop the bodies of the beasts he had killed.
He didn’t need Alex’s reminder this ti and imdiately left Alex alone after opening the door.
Alex nodded in approval, he felt that Owen was quite a sensible person; he liked such people.
After bringing out the beast corpses and getting Owen to take account, the paynt issues were sorted out, and the paynt for this set of beast corpses was added to the black Union card he had been given earlier.
"Hope to see you again soon," Owen said with a smile as he watched Mr Chen leave, but the latter suddenly stopped and said with a hoarse voice.
"I want to buy sothing."
