Chapter 374: Chapter 374: The Blade Light is Like Snow

The tree was about two hundred ters away from the dining hall at the martial practice field, offering a wide field of vision that clearly captured the comings and goings of people.

This tree was very thick, with a diater of about fifty centiters, and full of lush branches and leaves, housing three bird nests.

Feng Jun word his way into the dead branches very carefully, not even disturbing the birds in the nests. Although he had already buried the explosives, if possible, he wouldn’t mind taking a couple of shots at the enemy first.

After picking a good spot, he held his breath and focused, even squinting his eyes. So experts had an extrely strong sense of perception and could even feel soone else’s gaze. He did not want to inadvertently alert the enemy.

The able-bodied n gathering at the village entrance had already started to form lines and run towards the outer storehouse, with more and more people exiting their hos, incessantly inquiring about what had happened.

At the martial practice field, people also began to trickle in while a hint of dawn appeared in the distant sky.

As dawn approached, the crowd at the martial practice field grew, including not only teenagers but also many young people, and several evidently older ones.

Soon, a group of about five or six people gathered at the entrance of the dining hall, all wearing anxious expressions.

Even with the corners of his eyes, Feng Jun could affirm that at least half of these individuals were martial masters.

Soon, a fast horse galloped back to the village. Whatever was said at the village entrance caused the assembled crowd to disperse with a swoosh, positioning themselves in a defensive formation, as if a great enemy was about to invade.

Subsequently, soone hurried into the martial practice field and loudly declared, “Bandits are strong, and the outer storehouse is about to fall. Additionally, there are people specifically blocking reinforcents. The fight is fierce…”

At this point, soone scolded him, pointing to the disciples practicing not far away. The ssage was clear: There are so many people watching you, can’t you keep your composure?

After a brief discussion, two people took out their Sound Transmission Conches and started blowing into them.

Before long, from three different directions, three identically dressed grey-clothed individuals arrived, all wearing large hats that obscured their faces. It was clear from their movent and pace that they were exceptional handlers.

Upon their arrival, the disciples training at the martial field stopped and bowed in unison, “We see the elder ancestor.”

The main character had arrived! Feng Jun’s spirits imdiately lifted.

However, the guy was indeed quite cautious, and Feng Jun had no idea which one was Gu Maoyuan.

Once the three persons arrived, the crowd in the courtyard flooded into the dining hall and then into a small room inside.

Once they entered the room, from Feng Jun’s angle, he could no longer see anyone; there were windows in the room, but they were covered with white paper, offering no clarity on what was happening inside.

Thankfully it was not fully light yet. Feng Jun used his night vision goggles to check, faintly discerning figures, so he pulled out his Barrett, resting it on a tree branch.

At his movent, the birds in the nests were startled and took off in loud, flapping noises.

Many of the people practicing in the courtyard looked up.

But it was already too late. Almost at the instant they looked up, there was a muffled “thud” and a flash of light from the tree.

At almost the sa mont, a figure leapt from the tree.

Following that, there was a massive explosion at the martial practice field, with the ground shaking and bricks flying.

The sound actually consisted of five blasts, but as they detonated almost simultaneously, it seed like a single explosion.

The explosion of over two hundred kilograms of explosives ant that none of the Gu Family disciples practicing in the yard could keep their footing. Those who tumbled to the ground were the lucky ones; many were hurled through the air.

The dining hall, being the first to face the blast, was completely destroyed while the explosive shockwave even knocked down a large section of the courtyard wall.

The top of the large tree where Feng Jun was hiding had most of its peak blown off, and the three bird nests were swept away by the shockwave.

In that mont, every villager in the Gu Family Village, regardless of what they were doing, stopped their activities and turned in astonishnt to look over.

Under the watchful eyes of many, Feng Jun, clad in black with cropped hair, stood out prominently.

By then, he had already put away the Barrett, and with his hand on the Spirit Blade at his waist, he looked around without speaking.

“It’s Feng!” soone shouted loudly, the reason being that short hair was a rarity that couldn’t be found anywhere else in Qingning Prefecture.

“Ah~” soone scread frantically and then, terror-stricken, turned and ran. “Feng is bombing the village!”

Among the Gu Family’s disciples, it was no secret that their clan had a feud with Feng Jun. In fact, when Feng Jun announced his intention to kill those from the Gu Family who sided with the Wonderful Hand Pavilion, many Gu Family disciples were quite indignant, clamoring about destroying Mount Zhige.

—The Gu Family siding with the Wonderful Hand Pavilion was unacceptable, but the only ones qualified to kill Gu family mbers should be the Gu Family themselves.

These impulsive disciples were held back, and the events that followed proved that Feng Jun was not soone to be trifled with.

With Feng Jun’s overwhelming victory over Lord Beiyuan and the Yongyi Duke’s Princely Heir, destroying the Immortal Array in his fury, the Gu Family began to feel frightened.

Soon after, he advanced to the Innate level—damn it, was this a joke, such a young Innate?

Sending many spies to gather information, the Gu Family was quite aware of Feng Jun’s thods, especially his adept use of Thunderous Power. It could illuminate the night brightly as well as shatter mountains and stones, making it devastatingly powerful.

Seeing the explosion on the martial practice field and noting the man with short hair, so were so terrified that they turned and fled without thinking.

“`

But there were those who were not afraid, for a millennium-old noble house had its own cohesiveness. Many roared in rage and lunged forward.

So what if he’s an Innate Expert? Even a ferocious tiger can’t withstand a pack of wolves!

Such thinking wasn’t wrong, but although the Gu Family had many martial masters, they were quite scattered. There were so in the county city, so in the market town of the three families, and at the external storehouse area, at least twenty or so martial masters were tied down.

As for the martial masters having a eting in the dining hall… there’s no need to ntion them.

So the ones who were now charging over, although numbering over thirty, included only two martial masters.

Feng Jun wielded a Spirit Blade, neither dodging nor evading, fiercely eting the onslaught. He let knives, spears, clubs, and staffs smash onto his body, while his Spirit Blade quivered. Brilliant blade flowers danced in the air, and with each slash, a life was assured to be lost.

In the blink of an eye, over twenty Gu Family descendants t with untily deaths, so chopped in half, and not an instant death. They rolled on the ground in agonizing pain, loudly wailing.

Two martial masters were successively slain, and the remaining six or seven Gu Family descendants, seeing the formidable ferocity of their opponent, had no choice but to temporarily retreat.

Those who dared to surge forward were ones who regarded the clan’s honor as their life, and although they could not overco their adversary, the raging fire in their eyes could give faint-hearted people nightmares.

Yet Feng Jun just let out a hearty laugh, flicked his Spirit Blade, and sang out loud, “A friend bestowed upon a Spirit Blade… Never tested its frosty edge until today, to cut down all the injustices of the world!”

Having finished speaking, he didn’t even spare these people a glance and turned to walk towards the wall of the Martial Practice Field. Raising his hand, he swung his blade causing sword qi to burst forth.

With a thunderous rumble, the already decrepit wall collapsed further by a zhang, and he stepped over it and walked inside.

The next mont, he pivoted his body, and a flash of blade light streaked by, “Well t!”

A figure suddenly appeared, only to collapse to the ground. It was a lean man, slashed diagonally in half, still clutching two daggers in his hands with a strange green glow on them.

“Is this… the Shadow Mountain Master?” A Gu Family descendant recognized this person, his expression sowhat peculiar.

Feng Jun crouched down, took out a piece of beast hide and picked up the two daggers, then fiddled with an item.

The next mont, his body soared forward, heading towards the ruins of the dining hall, and brought down a heavy slash.

The “nearby people” display showed that there were still two alive in the dining hall, one of them being Gu Maoyuan.

The frosty blade light was incomparably swift, carrying a piercing shriek as it split the air.

Just then, the broken bricks and stones suddenly exploded, and a lean figure burst out, roaring, “Thief, face my sword!”

The man who erged, dressed in gray garb, was one of the three who had arrived last. His douli had already fallen, revealing the sowhat exotic face of an elder with high browbones and deep-set eyes, giving off the impression of a mixed-blood.

Seeing this face, Feng Jun’s lips curved in a cold sneer. With a vigorous exhale, his hand movent sped up a notch and he declared, “Face my blade!”

The man who had charged out was none other than Gu Maoyuan. He was disheveled from the explosion, rage splitting his eyes. His longsword lashed out, determined to et Feng Jun’s Spirit Blade head-on.

His longsword was also a Spirit Weapon. After clashing fiercely dozens of tis, he was unable to continue sustaining the breath and finally fell to the ground.

Gu Maoyuan, an old Innate expert, had been improving for over a decade. He knew full well how troubleso Feng Jun was.

But if it ca to a showdown purely of martial cultivation, he truly wasn’t afraid of his opponent.

So despite Feng Jun’s high ground advantage, Gu Maoyuan genuinely didn’t believe in superstitions and charged to et him head-on.

However, after dozens of sword exchanges, he finally admitted that his opponent was indeed a match for him.

He staggered back two steps, took a deep breath, and gripping the sword with both hands, gritted his teeth and declared, “Boy, today it’s either you or .”

“Pfft,” Feng Jun scoffed contemptuously and leaped forward, “Your blather is too much!”

The two figures engaged in a fierce battle atop the ruins, moving so fast they left a trail of afterimages. The sound of their sword and blade colliding was like a thundering herd of horses, almost rging into a continuous stream.

As the two were locked in intense combat, the ruins exploded once more, and a figure leapt out, his Long Blade slashing towards Feng Jun with incredible speed.

The figure, too, was clad in grey garnts. It turned out to be another Innate expert. But now, his clothes were in tatters, and his build had considerably expanded, much larger than before—the man had earlier used the Bone Shrinking Technique to reduce his stature to match Gu Maoyuan’s.

Clearly, this was a trap they had set for Feng Jun.

But at the very mont he burst forth, Feng Jun’s body flashed, surprisingly darting out of the fray to the attacker’s side and swung his blade.

After clashing blades dozens of tis, the big man staggered back several steps, opened his mouth, and “pfft,” coughed out blood.

“Scoundrel, you have slaughtered over a hundred of my Gu kin; I swear not to be human if I do not kill you!” Gu Maoyuan shouted, thrusting his sword once more.

Feng Jun raised his hand to grasp at the incoming longsword and counterattacked with another slash towards the bleeding big man.

He had long since realized that the man had suffered in the explosion, and crucially, his bulging clothes indicated the absence of any protective armor on his body.

Fighting against two Innate experts at the sa ti… it was better to take down one first.
