"Rember this!"
Tong Lili glared furiously at Yan Xinxin, warning her as if Xiao Yize were her boyfriend.
"Sorry, Lily," Yan Xinxin replied calmly. "I report directly to my ntor, so I don’t think you’ll have much authority over ."
Yan Xinxin’s tone was unhurried as she spoke. Seeing Tong Lili’s face freeze, she maintained a faint smile.
"If you feel I’m not doing well in so way, you’re welco to file a complaint with my ntor. But as for your warning, you can keep that for yourself—I don’t think I’ll be needing it."
"..."
After finishing her words, Yan Xinxin turned away with ease, leaving Tong Lili staring blankly at her retreating figure, utterly speechless!
This Yan Xinxin—what was she if not a lunatic?
A lunatic like that—what qualifications does she have to be Young Master Xiao’s apprentice?! And the only apprentice at that!
Tong Lili had been Xiao Yize’s personal assistant for two years and even knew his secret as the chief designer!
All along, she’d thought she was special to Xiao Yize. She believed that soday he would choose her as his one and only apprentice. But unexpectedly, Yan Xinxin appeared out of nowhere and stole the position!
As Yan Xinxin followed Xiao Yize into his office, the usual group of troublemaking female colleagues couldn’t resist crowding around.
"Lily, you’re finally back! If you’d been any later, your Young Master Xiao would have been snatched away completely!"
"Honestly, I think he’s already been taken! It’s obvious that Young Master Xiao has a soft spot for that Yan Xinxin."
"Lily, we can’t help you this ti! That Yan Xinxin—she’s Sunny’s older sister, and it seems like she’s incredible."
"Hey, hey, hey, you won! Didn’t we already figure out last ti that Sunny stole her sister’s designs, pretended to catch the thief, and fooled everyone? Her sister doesn’t have any ntal issues!"
A nearby male colleague finally chid in.
"Exactly! There’s nothing wrong with her! She’s talented, too! And her looks—tsk tsk—she’s bound to be the star of the company!"
"Hmph!"
"Tch!"
Hearing the male colleague’s praises for Yan Xinxin, the female colleagues collectively scoffed with disdainful, arrogant sneers.
Tong Lili listened, her face growing darker.
She wouldn’t allow it!
The man she’d coveted for so long, taken away by a "ntally ill" woman? No way!
18th floor.
Mo Chuxi sat in his office, his handso face stern.
He had just returned from the DNA testing agency.
Over the past two days, he had gone there twice—yet this ti, his mood was evidently different.
He was desperate for the results.
Once the results were out, no matter what had happened that night all those years ago, at least he could finally determine whether he was the scoundrel Yan Xinxin had been resenting alongside him all this ti.
At this thought, conflicting emotions surged within him.
If he was the one, how would he face Yan Xinxin?
And if he wasn’t...
Mo Chuxi raised his deep, brooding eyes, his gaze filled with intense possessiveness.
He had to be!
On that fateful night, Yan Xinxin’s innocence—surely it was him who had taken it!
The morning passed quickly as Yan Xinxin stayed in the eting room, collaborating with Xiao Yize on work-related matters.
When lunchti arrived, she grabbed her bag and hurried out the door.
Tong Lili wasted no ti, clutching her own bag and trailing right behind Yan Xinxin.
As Tong Lili stepped into the elevator behind her, Yan Xinxin paid no mind, even as the woman continued to roll her eyes at her—so much so that the double eyelid tape was practically peeling off.
Today was special, and the ti was precious to her right now. She had no intention of wasting it on aningless people or matters.
Lowering her gaze, Yan Xinxin unlocked her phone’s photo album and smiled faintly at the image of Angel’s Tears she had handcrafted.
Chun, today’s your fifth lunar birthday. Mommy’s coming to see you...
