"A new na?"
Yan Xinxin was quite curious, her mind wandering.
Perhaps that man had finally decided to formally make little Chenxi his daughter, so he gave her a new na?
Little Chenxi looked at Yan Xinxin and nodded with a playful smile.
"Mm-hmm, Xixi has a new na now!"
Yan Xinxin snapped back to reality and smiled softly at the delicate and crystal-clear little creature.
"So what’s Xixi called now? Hurry, tell Mommy."
"Uh... Xixi is now called... called..."
As she spoke, halfway through, the little one’s words trailed off slower and slower. Her tiny brows furrowed more and more until finally, she lifted her chubby little white hands to cover her cute little mouth.
"Mmm... mmm... mmm..."
The little girl covered her cherry-like mouth and shook her head in refusal.
Yan Xinxin frowned in confusion.
"What’s the matter, Xixi?"
Little Chenxi slowly let go of her hands, blinked her sparkling grape-like eyes, and bead radiantly.
"Daddy said he wants to be the first to tell Mommy. Xixi’s not allowed to say it."
The little girl spoke with utmost seriousness. Hearing this, Yan Xinxin was montarily stunned, quickly sensing soone standing beside her.
"Daddy!"
Little Chenxi called out softly and sweetly.
Yan Xinxin looked over to see Mo Chuxi bend down, skillfully scooping up little Chenxi in his arms.
"Little baby, are you hungry? How about Daddy takes you to get so breakfast? Hmm?"
His tone was extraordinarily doting, and his gaze equally gentle and warm.
"Mm-hmm!"
Little Chenxi nodded her little head vigorously.
"Xixi is so hungry! I want breakfast, with Daddy, Mommy, and Brother Chenxi all together!"
"Xinxin, I’m hungry too."
Yan Chenxi, the little boy, added as he lightly tugged at her skirt.
"Since everyone’s hungry, why don’t we all go have breakfast first?"
Yan Xinxin smiled as she spoke, reached out to take her son’s hand, and turned toward him.
Mo Chuxi raised his gaze, watching Yan Xinxin as she took their son’s hand and turned away. His expression grew deep and thoughtful.
"Daddy, Daddy."
Little Chenxi’s soft voice rang delicately near his ear.
Mo Chuxi withdrew his gaze and shifted it to the little porcelain-like figure in his arms. His heart and his eyes softened simultaneously.
"What’s the matter, baby?"
"Daddy, why can’t Xixi tell Mommy that she’s not Xixi anymore, she’s Little Chun now?"
Her wide, star-like eyes blinked in puzzled innocence.
Mo Chuxi raised his hand to pinch little Chenxi’s petite, charming nose. Those round, cat-like eyes before him, the more he looked, the more they reminded him of Yan Xinxin’s.
Looking into those naive and confused big eyes, he found his heart lting even more.
"Because Little Chun is Mommy’s most beloved and yearned-for treasure. Daddy was afraid that if Mommy had Little Chun, she wouldn’t want Daddy anymore."
"Want Daddy! Want Daddy!"
Little Chenxi stretched out her tender, lotus-root-like arms to wrap around Mo Chuxi’s neck. Her tiny soft body pressed against him tightly and hugged him firmly.
"Xixi wants Daddy, Xixi also wants Mommy. Xixi wants Daddy and Mommy together! Xixi doesn’t want to be an orphan."
The word "orphan" was like hailstones, slamming against Mo Chuxi’s chest.
For the past five years, he hadn’t fulfilled his duties as a father. He let his son endure judgnt and disdain, his daughter suffer abandonnt, and the woman who bore his children endure so much insecurity for his sake.
He owed the three of them — mother, son, and daughter — way too much...
