"Ah—"
Before she could grasp what was happening, Yan Xinxin heard a pained scream. Many servants and maids turned to look.
She froze in confusion when she noticed soone sprawled at her feet, surrounded by shattered tea cup fragnts.
What is going on?
Yan Xinxin was deeply startled and quickly squatted down to help the woman lying at her feet.
"Doctor Ye?"
Ye Wei’er froze upon hearing her voice.
"Yan Little... Madam, why did you suddenly walk away?"
Ye Wei’er’s tone carried a hint of resentnt that she was trying, albeit unsuccessfully, to conceal.
"Hiss... My hand."
She stood up, adjusted her clothes, and looked at her palm, which was bleeding and red from being cut by the glass shards. Her brows furrowed deeply.
"So painful!"
"I truly didn’t know you were standing behind , Doctor Ye. If my sudden turn startled you, I sincerely apologize."
Yan Xinxin apologized.
After a few seconds of silence, Ye Wei’er lifted her sowhat beautiful face and curled her lips into a faint, ambiguous smile.
"Yan Little—"
It seed intentional; she said two words before abruptly stopping herself.
"Madam, you’re quite timid. I was rely making so calming tea to help you sleep. I thought you might try it, but I didn’t expect such a big reaction from you."
Yan Xinxin smiled faintly upon hearing this.
"Doctor Ye, thank you for your kind offer, but every night my husband helps sleep so well that I don’t need any sort of bedti tea."

"Also, just now, I was indeed lost in thought while admiring my husband’s back, which is why I didn’t notice soone standing behind ."
Yan Xinxin spoke calmly and unhurriedly, her tone deliberate. Ye Wei’er’s smile seed to stiffen slightly.
"Oh my! Wei’er, what happened to your hand!"
Sister Lin suddenly ran over from the side room.
When she saw Ye Wei’er’s bleeding hand, her face showed nothing but concern.
"What happened here?"
Lin Yuan’ai’s voice ca from the stairs.
She walked gracefully over, approaching with asured steps. As her gaze swept over the scattered glass shards and Ye Wei’er’s wounded, bleeding palm, she frowned and turned her gaze to Yan Xinxin.
"What exactly happened?"
"Madam Mo, it’s nothing serious. I’ll clean up the shards right away."
Ye Wei’er smiled generously, casually took a tissue to wipe her hand, and bent down to clean up the shattered pieces.
Sister Lin imdiately pulled her aside.
"Wei’er, your hand is injured—why are you doing such nial labor? Mom will have the servants do this in a mont. You’re always like this, neglecting yourself while only thinking about others!"
Hearing Sister Lin’s self-praising remarks, Yan Xinxin couldn’t help but feel a chilling sense of discomfort.
It seed, however, that Lin Yuan’ai fully appreciated them, smiling affably at Ye Wei’er.
"Wei’er, leave this alone and go sit down."
As she spoke, she seed to completely disregard her daughter-in-law Yan Xinxin, instead leading Ye Wei’er by the hand toward the sofa. Sister Lin followed closely behind, treating Yan Xinxin as if she were invisible.
Lin Yuan’ai held Ye Wei’er’s hand and questioned her with concern.
"So what exactly happened? How did you fall?"
Ye Wei’er glanced at Yan Xinxin, who was standing nearby, then turned to Lin Yuan’ai and smiled graciously.
"Thank you for your concern, Madam Mo. I’m truly fine. Earlier, I brewed so tea and wanted to offer it to Madam. I called out to her, but she didn’t respond. However, monts later, she suddenly turned around, which startled . I lost my grip on the cup and ended up falling."
Upon hearing Ye Wei’er’s explanation, Yan Xinxin looked at her in surprise.
Did she...call ?
"Oh my! This truly breaks my heart!"
Sister Lin frowned and lanted, scanning the room. Not seeing Mo Chuxi around, her expression imdiately darkened as she stared disapprovingly at Yan Xinxin.
"Madam, my Wei’er ant well. If you don’t appreciate her kindness, so be it, but why scare her like that? She’s always been timid since she was a child; she can’t handle such treatnt from you!"
