"Huh?"
Hearing Mo Chuxi’s questioning tone, Yan Xinxin was utterly confused.
However, he gripped her hand tightly, his gaze dark and icy, his expression cold and severe.
"Chuxi, what are you talking about?"
She blinked her gentle, beautiful eyes and looked at him.
Mo Chuxi seed to finally co to his senses. Realizing how hard he was holding her hand, he quickly let go.
"Did I hurt you?"
He asked apologetically, then sat up.
Yan Xinxin smiled softly and shook her head.
"I’m not that fragile."
She smiled and touched his cheek with her small hand.
"What’s wrong? Did you have a dream about deceiving you or sothing?"
Mo Chuxi chuckled, leaned over, and kissed her on the cheek. His sharp and angular features softened as warmth returned to his expression.
"I dread that you ran away with my little treasure, and even when I caught you, you refused to co back ho with ."
"Wow, that sounds intense!"
Yan Xinxin laughed, stood up, and walked to the wardrobe to prepare the clothes he needed for today.
"People always say dreams are the opposite of reality. This ans I’ll hold onto our little baby forever and always stay with you—you won’t need to chase after ."
"Really?"
The man’s hoarse voice carried a trace of uncertain anxiety, as he reached out for her.
Soon, she was pulled into his embrace.
His palm gently caressed the slight swell of her belly, a sense of contentnt washing over him, though the haunting thought of the email’s content lingered.
"Of course it’s true! Now, hurry up, Xixi One! Go freshen up already. You promised you’d take , Little Xi, and Chun out for a drive today. The weather’s perfect outside!"
She teased, escaping from his arms with the neatly-stacked clothes, before noticing Mo Chuxi standing there in a daze. She couldn’t help but worry.
"Chuxi, did you not sleep well last night? You seem tired. Does your head hurt?"
"A little."
He admitted without hesitation.
"Then let’s cancel today’s plans. You need to rest at ho."
"No way! I promised the little ones—I must keep my word."
He grabbed her hand, his gaze earnest.
"I’ve already missed out on five years of precious family monts. I can’t let any more slip away."
Yan Xinxin nodded in agreent.
"Alright, I’ll get ready and wait for you downstairs."
"Okay."
He nodded, watching Yan Xinxin’s graceful figure as she turned to leave, shaking off the lingering cloud in his mind.
After freshening up, Mo Chuxi donned the outfit that Yan Xinxin had picked out for him and headed downstairs for breakfast.
The two little ones, backpacks strapped on, were already eagerly waiting.
Mo Chuxi grabbed a quick bite and was about to stand up when Yan Xinxin walked over with a glass of water and a small white pill.
"Just an ordinary painkiller for your headache. Take one."
Not wanting to worry Yan Xinxin, Mo Chuxi took the painkiller without hesitation. The family set out cheerfully for the children’s park.
"Let’s walk, let’s walk, hand in hand we go. Walk, walk, walk, let’s go on an outing together!"
The two little ones gleefully sang while holding hands as they entered the amusent park.
Mo Chuxi and Yan Xinxin followed behind them, also holding hands.
Ocean slide, carousel, adventure playground—while the kids played on these rides, Yan Xinxin could only watch from the sidelines, being pregnant. Naturally, she couldn’t join in.
But she could still participate in the indoor expansion gas toward the end.
It was just as the activities began that Yan Xinxin felt a sharp twinge in her belly.
Noticing her discomfort, Mo Chuxi wasted no ti in scooping her up and rushing to the car, with the two children scrambling to hop in as well.
"Xinxin, don’t be scared—everything will be okay!"
Mo Chuxi reassured her nervously as he drove, one hand tightly gripping hers.
All the while, he kept comforting himself silently.
The dangerous three-month period is over. The baby will be fine. Everything will be fine...
Before long, they arrived at the hospital. Ergency checks were completed swiftly, and a white-coated doctor stepped out from the room.
"How’s my wife? How’s the baby?"
Mo Chuxi rushed over to ask, his concern palpable.
The doctor gave him a gentle smile.
"Young Master Mo, you don’t need to worry. Both mother and baby are safe. Also, according to the test results, there’s so great news I’d like to share with you."
