Franklin Davis was an Evolved. Had been for a couple years now.

Despite having powers, he didn't used to feel all that special.

Having powers really only benefits you if you were the kind of person who is confident enough to use them.

If you were a regular person, or for argunt's sake, a person who didn't quite know how to fight for themselves, then having superpowers doesn't accomplish much, aside from making people treat you like a circus freak or a al ticket.

Franklin used to have that very sa problem.

For most people, getting powers was their single greatest dream in life, and then for others, it is their undeniable turning point.

But Franklin just considered getting powers to be a hassle. He was a simple enhanced type evolved who could make his skin like flexible diamond.

Frank read a lot of comics, so he understood the thes and general need for heroism. Be it fictional, or realistic.

He thought it might be nice to actually be a hero. But he wasn't so naive as to actually attempt sothing like that.

And then, he saw Arias' speech on TV.

He listened carefully to the story of one whom he had once considered to be nothing more than a madman.

The more he heard, the more he realized that he and Arias weren't necessarily dissimilar.

And if a person like that, like him, could go through such a monuntal change and beco soone so respected, then maybe it was possible for Franklin too.

However, the young man didn't really want to be widely recognized. He just wanted to be a force for good.

So after spending a few weeks learning how to stitch together a costu, learning how to fly, and getting control of his hardening ability, he finalized his commitnt to heroism by sprucing up an old police scanner left behind by his father.

It was as hard as he expected, but also more rewarding. He actually got to save an old woman who was about to be mugged one night.

He never expected for things to turn out like this...

"You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you can not afford an attorney, one will be provided for you..."

Franklin was in a state of near-permanent disbelief. His hazel green eyes were permanently unfocused. His sandy blonde hair was still caked with ash from the fires.

The feeling of the restrictive handcuffs around his wrists was sothing that he didn't know if he'd ever forget.

"Look over there!"

"Oh my god, what is that?!"

Franklin and the n arresting him looked into the street, where pandemonium was still running rampant.

Out of nowhere, a strange portal had opened up in the air beside the beautiful winged Annalise.

She was a beautiful young woman of around nineteen or twenty years of age. Her long curly hair fell down her back in mystifying gray locks indistinguishable from storm clouds.

On her hip, she carried the single scariest fucking baby that Franklin or anyone here had ever seen.

While it looked almost indistinguishable from a regular child, it's aura was clearly not normal.

The young girl handed the baby to Annalise and then she held out her hand to summon a very large and very old-looking book.

It remained suspended in the air in front of her as if it didn't believe the ground to be worthy of touching it.

The book flipped open to a very specific page all on it's own.

A golden mist seeped out from the pages of the book as the young girl began chanting so words that no one here could quite decipher.

A heavenly light shone from her body and enveloped the entire street.

Within seconds, what looked like a tragic scene from an action movie was suddenly a shining example of hope.

The people who looked like they were about to et their makers just a few monts ago were recovering and sitting up in wonder.

The fires ravaging the building and the street were imdiately snuffed out.

All over the street, people were looking towards the great golden scene in wonder.

"So that's a mysticism type evolved..."

"She's so pretty..."

"Thank you..!Thank you..!"

Slowly, a small crowd began to form around Anna and the magical girl.

They sang her praises fervently as if she were so kind of goddess descended onto the earth. If they weren't tearing up at the sight of her, then they were trying to get close enough to shake her hand.

Apparently, the young woman was quite the bashful sort given her reaction to the crowd.

She shook hands and hugged the first couple of people, but when thirty turned into sixty it seed to beco a hair too much.

She quickly pilfered her baby and from Annalise's grasp and ran back through the portal from whence she ca. It was hard to tell whether or not she was more disappointed by the child leaving, or by her friend.

"Hope none of you needed Aubrey to take a look at you."

Franklin felt his heartbeat speed up when he heard that voice.

The most famous young man in Arica descended from the sky with a pair of dark sunglasses obscuring his eyes.

As soon as the officers arresting Franklin saw him, their faces lit up considerably.

The largest mber of the group was a tall, dark-skinned man with a thick black beard and more muscles than Atlas. He was the first to lock arms with Malachi and greet him.

"Nah, you know we'll always be Nightfall strong over here. Just wish things didn't go south so we could have put our own bodies on the line... Thank your sister for bailing us out."

Malachi would pass the ssage along, but he was sure that soone as shy as Aubrey wouldn't really want a whole lot of credit. In her eyes, she would see what she had done as completely natural.

Those with power should help those without, right?

"You all got here mighty fast, Zeke." Mal whistled. "Headquarters ain't exactly close."

The large man, Zeke, nodded and looked around before continuing.

"This was supposed to be an opp. New boss has us tracking this crew of ex-military who boosted so tech from a depot. We were supposed to let them hit this target, grab what they wanted, and follow back to base, but..."

Zeke discreetly shot an unfriendly gaze towards Franklin who noticed it anyway.

He hung his head even lower as a result.

"...What's he looking at?" Mal asked. "Tiwise."

Zeke sighed in exhaustion as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Tough to say... The brass are always tougher on stuff like this leading up to an election. You know how it is. Everyone's trying to keep their own noses clean."

In lans terms, Franklin could either be out before the day ended on bond, or he could be hit with decades worth of hard ti.

It all depended on the mood of whoever received his paperwork on their desk.

"Mr. Saint! Mr Saint, can I have a word??" A new voice said.
