Caroline leaned back in her chair, grinning.

"You better watch out, Mandy. You know Aurora loves to steal other people’s boyfriends."

Mandy rolled her eyes but smirked.

"Tch. If that airheaded snake dares to co between and Zane, I’ll kill her."

Caroline chuckled at Mandy’s bold words, but Zane? He shuddered.

Taking a deep breath, he finally spoke. "That’s not the real problem."

Mandy raised an eyebrow. "Then what is?"

Zane clenched his jaw.

"I... I tried to use it. Since she thought I saved her, I figured I could convince her to drop the whole thing. You know, let it go."

He hesitated, looking down at the floor. "But it didn’t work."

Caroline’s laughter died down. "Wait, what?"

Zane exhaled sharply.

"She disagreed." His voice was tense, as if he still couldn’t believe it.

"Not only did she refuse to drop the matter, but she also told to leave. Just like that."

Mandy’s expression darkened. "She what?"

"That is not the problem. The main problem was...Spencer arrived." Zane explained.

Caroline’s eyes widened, and she quickly turned to Zane, grabbing his sleeve.

"Hold on." She frowned. "Are you talking about Spencer Whitlock?"

Zane slowly nodded, his throat dry.

Caroline’s jaw clenched in jealousy. "What was he doing there?"

Zane looked even more horrified as he answered.

"He’s the one who actually saved Aurora."

Mandy and Caroline both stiffened.

Zane continued, his voice barely above a whisper. "And... I think he’s siding with her."

The air in the room grew heavy.

Mandy’s nails dug into the desk. "You an he might investigate what happened?"

Zane nodded, his face grim.

Caroline’s fingers curled into fists.

"Are you serious right now?" she hissed.

"Spencer Whitlock—the richest, most popular guy in school—is taking Aurora’s side?"

Mandy’s face twisted in annoyance.

"Ugh, what’s his deal? Why is he so focused on saving that b*tch?"

Zane shook his head, still looking shaken.

"I don’t know. But he looked serious. He told to leave, and Aurora listened to him."

Caroline scoffed.

"Of course she did! She’s probably throwing herself at him already."

Mandy crossed her arms.

"Tch. That girl has no sha." Then, her eyes narrowed. "But Spencer investigating? That is a problem."

Caroline nodded. "What if he finds out we were behind it?"

Mandy smirked, flipping her hair over her shoulder.

"Relax. He won’t. We covered our tracks. Aurora has zero proof. The girl I hired to push Aurora in the classroom wasn’t even from our school. Even if Aurora rembers her face, she won’t find her."

Zane hesitated. "Yeah... but Spencer is smart. If he starts asking around, he might figure it out."

Mandy rolled her eyes.

"So what? Even if he does, what’s he gonna do? Go to the principal?"

She scoffed. "We already said it—our parents own this school."

Caroline nodded.

"Exactly. The only way Aurora can fight back is if she has actual evidence. And guess what?"

She leaned in, smirking. "She doesn’t."

Zane sighed, rubbing his forehead. "I hope you’re right..."

Caroline smirked. "Of course I’m right. Aurora is all bark and no bite."

.......

anwhile, the Aurora, who was all bark but no bite, was staring at Spencer.

"Why did you help ?"

Spencer paused before asking her in an almost cautious tone,

"You...don’t rember ?"

Aurora frowned. "Rember you?" She tilted her head. "Should I?"

Spencer let out a small chuckle, but there was sothing almost sad about it. "Wow," he muttered. "You really forgot."

Aurora crossed her arms. "Okay, seriously. What are you talking about?"

Spencer sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "We used to know each other."

Aurora blinked. "No way. I’d rember soone like you."

Spencer raised an eyebrow. "Would you?"

Aurora hesitated. Sothing about the way he looked at her made her feel... weird. Like maybe—just maybe—he was telling the truth.

But that didn’t make sense. She didn’t rember any Spencer other than...

"Is your surna Berrycloth?" Aurora asked expectantly.

Spencer rolled his eyes and muttered,

"If you don’t rember, just say so. Why are you insulting by throwing random surnas in my direction?"

So he is not Spencer Berrycloth?

A strange sense of sadness washed over Aurora.

Wait! Why was she sad? She had only known Spencer Berrycloth for one day! Not more than that!

Aurora shook her head quickly, pushing that weird feeling away.

"Whatever," she muttered. "I don’t know you."

Spencer sighed. "Yeah. I figured."

Aurora narrowed her eyes. "And you’re still not telling why you helped ."

Spencer stared at her for a mont, then shrugged. "Because I wanted to."

Aurora scoffed. "That’s not a real answer."

Spencer smirked. "Sure it is."

Aurora huffed in frustration.

"Ugh, fine. Keep your secrets, mystery boy." She turned away, crossing her arms. "But I will make them pay."

Spencer raised an eyebrow. "Oh yeah? And how exactly do you plan to do that?"

Aurora clenched her fists.

"I don’t know yet. But I’m not just gonna sit back and let them get away with it."

Spencer leaned against the wall, watching her carefully.

"For your information, don’t even think I will help you. Though Mandy has Aichmophobia and Caroline has Claustrophobia, I won’t advise you to use it against them."

Aurora blinked.

"Aichmo-what?"

Spencer sighed.

"Aichmophobia. It ans fear of sharp things. Mandy’s terrified of knives, needles, even pencils if they look too pointy."

Aurora tilted her head. "Huh. Weird."

Spencer shrugged.

"And Caroline? She’s got claustrophobia—fear of small spaces. She freaks out if she’s trapped sowhere."

Aurora smirked. "Good to know."

Spencer said nonchalantly. "I said don’t use it against them."

From his deanor, it was clear that he wasn’t serious about his own words.

Aurora grinned. "Well, if you’re giving ideas, I might as well use them."

"As you wish. But if you run in trouble...don’t call ." Spencer said haughtily.

"Eh? But I don’t have your number, so how can I trouble you?" Aurora asked.

Spencer rolled his eyes and said loudly,

"My number is..."
