The company generated a profit of $4 million per year.
It was right if he never had the chance to beco the CEO, but now that a chance was presented to him, how could he give it up?
Adam Price already had a plan in his mind. Yet he showed a remorseful expression on his face and said to Adam Waters,
"I am sorry for all the things I had said...I was blinded by grief. You know I have a mother who is hospitalized. I just...couldn’t help but beco greedy."
Adam Waters looked at Adam Price, his eyes narrowing a little. He didn’t trust him—not after everything that had just happened.
"I... I get it," Adam Waters said slowly. "But lying and trying to tear down wasn’t the way to handle it."
Adam Price nodded quickly, looking all desperate and sad.
"I know. I ssed up, big ti. And I’m really sorry." His voice even cracked a little, like he was about to cry.
So of the workers glanced at each other, looking uncomfortable.
A few even looked like they were feeling bad for Adam Price now.
"I just wanted a chance to prove myself," Adam Price continued, his voice shaky.
"Everything I did... it was wrong. But I just wanted to help my mom. She’s all I’ve got."
Adam Waters bit his lip.
Even if Adam Price was a jerk, it was hard not to feel bad about the whole sick mom thing.
Mike, who had been watching everything quietly, stepped up and whispered to Adam Waters,
"Don’t fall for it. This guy’s full of lies."
Adam Waters glanced at Mike. Mike was his best friend at work. The one person who had always stuck by him.
If Mike was suspicious, then maybe... maybe he was right.
Adam Waters looked back at Adam Price.
"Alright. Just stay away from ."
With that, he turned to leave, but Adam Price stopped him and said,
"Please, don’t leave...I will resign from this company today. I just have one last request. I want to have a al before leaving.
After today, you will beco CEO Adam Waters, while I would continue to work as a manager...I don’t know when I will ever get the chance to sit with a CEO again."
Adam Waters hesitated. He really didn’t want to spend any more ti around Adam Price. Not after all the trouble he caused.
But... Adam Price sounded so pitiful. And now he was talking about quitting?
Mike shook his head hard, his eyes wide.
"Don’t do it, man. This guy’s up to sothing. I can feel it."
Adam Waters looked at Mike, then back at Adam Price.
Adam Price’s eyes were all watery and sad, and his shoulders were slumped like he’d already given up.
"Just... one al?" Adam Waters asked, his voice uncertain.
Adam Price nodded eagerly.
"Yes, just one al. It’s my way of saying sorry, I guess. And... goodbye."
Adam Waters sighed. "Alright. Fine. One al. But that’s it."
Adam Price’s face lit up with relief. "Thank you. I really appreciate it."
Mike groaned. "You’re too nice, dude. Way too nice."
"You all could co too." Adam Price suggested as he looked at everyone.
The workers only hesitated for a few minutes before agreeing and cheering.
Mike felt sowhat relieved, thinking that with so many people around, Adam Price wouldn’t dare to do anything funny.
.........
A few hours before.
At ho.
Aurora ca to a devastating realization after multiple hours of scrolling and practicing.
She knew hacking!
Not just the basics, either. It was like she had all these tricks and techniques cramd in her brain, just waiting to be used.
The extent of it was still unknown, but she could easily crack the simple challenges she found online.
Stuff that was supposed to be for experts or people who had studied for years... Aurora was figuring them out in minutes.
It freaked her out.
Every ti she typed out so complicated command or decoded a password, it felt like her fingers were moving on their own.
Like her brain was running ahead of her, knowing exactly what to do.
She had even hacked into her own Wi-Fi just to test herself. It only took her five minutes. Five freaking minutes!
"I am definitely more smart than any female lead!" Aurora said.
Just as she was rejoicing, she received a call from Emily, who told her about Adam Price.
Aurora heard everything and said,
"Don’t fire him right away. He will be useful."
"Useful? How? If he stayed, he would continue to insult your father." Emily sounded a bit worried.
"That is what I want. My dad is too soft-hearted. He needs to see that the people he considered as his friends weren’t as good as they seed." Aurora explained.
"Alright, then I will ask Charles to stay silent," Emily said.
"Also, don’t ask Charles to fire that Adam Price right away. Let him question Charles so that my father’s capabilities can be seen by others." Aurora continued.
Emily was silent for a while before praising Aurora,
"You are truly insightful, Aurora."
"I know," Aurora said in a proud tone.
After Emily had hung up, Aurora continued to browse the information, and soon, she received a call from Emily.
"What happened?"
"Everyone has accepted your father as CEO, and he has also seen the real face of his close brothers. Everything is going according to plan," Emily inford.
Aurora heaved a sigh of relief. Though she had asked Emily not to take any action against Adam Price, she was worried that Adam Price would do sothing too out of line.
Sotis, in desperation, even the honest man fights back, let alone a scheming man like Adam Price.
"But Adam Price..." Emily interrupted Aurora’s train of thought. "He has suddenly had a change of heart and decided to resign. He is planning to treat everyone to a al. Do you think he has a change of heart?"
