"Him? Change of heart? Impossible." Aurora shook her head.
From the TV shows and novels she had seen till now, she understood one thing: scheming people like Adam Price can never have a change of heart.

"I, too, think so," Emily said.
"Did my father agree to go on with a al?" Aurora asked.
"Yes," Emily replied.
Aurora was silent for the next 2 minutes.
Taking her silence as displeasure, Emily asked,
"So, should I ask Charles to prevent Adam from joining?"
"No," Aurora said firmly.
"Eh? Why?" Emily sounded a bit anxious.
"Because my father needs to learn that being soft-hearted could be harmful. Going forward, he would be a CEO, a person working solely toward the profit of his company, and achieving new heights.
In this kind of situation, being indecisive and soft hearted are the biggest flaws and its ti, that father get rid of those." Aurora said.
She didn’t sound like a 17-year-old girl at all, instead, Emily felt as if she was talking with so expert who had a deep insight into the business world.
Maybe Emily’s silence speak volus because the next second, Aurora’s voice sounded,
"Anyways. Ask soone to keep an eye on Adam Price and keep updated about the situation."
At night.
They all headed to a big restaurant nearby. It wasn’t super fancy, but it was definitely better than their usual dinner spots.
Adam Price ordered a bunch of food—pizza, burgers, fries, steak, pasta—like he was trying to impress everyone.
The workers were loving it, laughing and joking around.
Adam Waters tried to relax, but he couldn’t help but keep an eye on Adam Price.

"Eat up, everyone!" Adam Price said, raising his glass.
"This is a special day. A new start for Adam Waters. And for , too."
Mike rolled his eyes. "Yeah, sure. You just want everyone to forget what you tried to pull earlier."
Adam Price ignored him and kept grinning.
The food was actually really good.
Adam Waters found himself laughing along with everyone else and eating more than he planned.
Maybe he was just being paranoid. Maybe Adam Price really was trying to make things right.
After a while, Adam Price stood up and clinked his glass with a fork. "I just want to say a few words."
Everyone went quiet, looking at him.
"I know I ssed up. Big ti," Adam Price said, sounding all serious.
"I tried to bring Adam Waters down because... I was jealous. And desperate. My mom’s sick, and I let my anger take over."
So workers nodded, their faces softening.
A few even murmured things like,
"Poor guy," and, "I guess I’d be desperate, too."
"But Adam Waters is the better man. And he’s gonna be a great CEO. I just want to make peace before I leave. So... here’s to Adam Waters."
Everyone raised their glasses and cheered.
Even Mike lifted his glass, though he didn’t look too happy about it.
After ten minutes, Adam suddenly felt dizzy.
"Mike... I don’t feel so good. I just wanna go ho," Adam mumbled, his voice weak.
Mike looked at him, eyes wide with worry. "What? Are you sick? You were fine just a minute ago."
Adam shook his head slowly. "I dunno... I feel dizzy. Like... everything’s spinning."
Mike’s gaze instantly shot to Adam Price, pretending like nothing was wrong.
"What did you do to him?" Mike snapped, his voice sharp and angry.
Adam Price put his hands up like he was innocent. "I didn’t do anything! I swear. Maybe he just ate too much."
Mike wasn’t buying it, but Adam was already slumping forward, looking like he was about to pass out.
"Co on, man. I’ll get you ho," Mike said, hooking his arm under Adam’s shoulders and dragging him toward the street.
Just as they got outside, a taxi rolled up, like it was waiting for them.
Mike didn’t think much about it. He was too focused on getting Adam ho safe.
"Evergreen Heights," Adam mumbled to the driver, his eyes barely open.
The driver, wearing a black mask that covered most of his face, just nodded.
Without saying a word, he started driving.
Adam relaxed a little, recognizing the familiar roads.
The gentle hum of the car made him feel sleepy, and before he knew it, his eyes shut, and he was out cold.
Mike kept shaking Adam’s shoulder, trying to keep him awake.
"Hey, man, don’t fall asleep. We’re almost there."
But suddenly, Mike’s own head started to feel heavy. His vision got blurry, and his eyelids felt like bricks.
"W-What... what’s going on?" Mike mumbled, his voice sounding weird and far away.
He tried to keep his eyes open, but it was useless. The world went dark, and Mike slumped over beside Adam.
The taxi drove for a while longer before stopping in front of a rundown hotel.
The kind of place people avoided, especially at night.
A few rough-looking n were waiting outside.
As soon as the car stopped, they pulled the doors open and dragged Adam and Mike out of the backseat.
"Co on, hurry up," one of the n grumbled, yanking Adam’s arm and throwing him over his shoulder like he was nothing.
"Yeah, yeah, I got the other one," another man said, grabbing Mike’s limp body and dragging him along the ground.
They hauled both of them inside the old hotel, through dusty, dark hallways that slled like smoke and garbage.
They reached a room at the end of the hall and pushed the door open.
Inside, a few won were waiting, dressed in flashy, cheap clothes and heavy makeup.
They looked tired and annoyed, like they didn’t really want to be there.
The masked driver spoke up, his voice rough and cold. "You know what to do. Just make it look real. Photos. Enough to ruin him."
The won exchanged glances but nodded. One of them stepped forward and looked at Adam’s unconscious face.
"Guess we should get started," she sighed, sounding more tired than anything else.
