Even Spencer’s eyebrows lifted in surprise. He turned to look at Aurora, his eyes narrowing in thought.
His expression was unreadable, but his gaze had clearly deepened. As if he had just realized there was a whole side of Aurora he didn’t know existed.
Aurora, on the other hand, looked utterly unbothered. She gave Spencer a wink, which only made his frown deepen.
The saleswoman stepped forward, her voice calm but firm.
"I assure you, sir, I’m not lying. Miss Aurora is indeed the owner of this shopping mall. Her company purchased it outright six months ago."
Ryan staggered back, as if he’d been punched in the stomach.
His gaze darted between the saleswoman and Aurora, the truth slowly seeping into his stunned mind.
"No..." he muttered. "No, this can’t be real..."
His eyes dropped to the stack of ultra-premium cards still clutched tightly in his hand.
The sleek, black edges suddenly felt like hot coals.
He had just spent a hundred thousand dollars... in front of an audience... to prove a point... to the owner.
He stood still for several seconds, trying to process everything. Then, suddenly, he shouted.
"She scamd ! I want a refund! I was tricked!"
Aurora’s smile was like sunlight on ice. She tilted her head and sighed, as if dealing with a particularly stubborn child.
"Scamd?" she said.
"Ryan, let’s be clear. You pulled out your card yourself. You walked up to the counter yourself. You said—yourself—that you wanted to buy all 100 cards.
The transaction was voluntary. This mall offers services for those mberships. It was your kink to buy 100 cards."
Ryan’s ears turned red. His teeth clenched so tightly they looked like they might crack.
"If that’s how it is," he hissed, "then I want to use my mbership to kick her out!"
Aurora just raised a brow. "You really didn’t read the terms and conditions, did you?"
"What?!"
She took a step forward, her voice patient, almost mocking.
"Those cards co with access, yes. But they also co with limits. One of the rules clearly states that no cardholder has the authority to remove the owner of the mall or anyone accompanying the owner from the premises. So even if you’re holding a hundred of them, you have zero power over ."
Ryan looked like he might explode. His fists shook at his sides, and his eyes darted around wildly, searching for so kind of support.
Instead, his girlfriend, still on his arm, was staring at Aurora like she’d seen a ghost.
"You..." she whispered. "You’re rich? Like really rich?"
Then, without warning, she tore herself away from Ryan and launched herself at Aurora.
Gasps filled the store. Several people flinched, thinking she was going to attack.
But instead, she hugged Aurora tightly, clinging to her like a lifeline. She leaned in close and whispered, loud enough for Spencer to hear.
"I can be your mistress too. Just sign . I’ll do anything. Just let stay with you."
Aurora was so caught off guard that she froze. "Excuse —what?!"
Spencer, whose face had grown darker and darker through the whole exchange, stepped forward and yanked the woman off Aurora with a single hand. He looked like he wanted to throw her across the store.
"Don’t touch her," he snapped, voice cold.
The woman stumbled back, pouting, but Spencer ignored her.
Aurora cleared her throat, brushing imaginary dust off her sleeve. "That was... weird."
Ryan was now completely unraveling. His face was pale, his lips were trembling, and his eyes were full of panic. The once-proud, arrogant young man was now a wreck.
He suddenly dropped to his knees in front of Spencer, clutching the cards like they were cursed.
"Please," he begged. "You’re rich too, right? You’re friends with her. Help ! Get my money back. I didn’t an to! I just... I just didn’t know!"
Spencer looked down at him in disgust. "You weren’t scamd. You’re just stupid."
Ryan began to wail like a child, right there on the polished marble floor. "It’s a hundred thousand dollars! I’m going to be broke for six months! Please! Help !"
Aurora sighed deeply. Then she looked at the security guard who had arrived silently nearby.
"Take him out," she said. "Gently. He’s already humiliated himself enough."
The guard nodded. "Yes, Miss Aurora."
"No!" Ryan screeched as two guards grabbed his arms. "Let go of ! I’m a VIP! I’m the son of—!"
"—The richest man in New York, yes," Aurora said calmly. "Tell him I said hi."
As the guards dragged him out, still clutching his useless cards, the woman who had tried to hug Aurora called after him.
"Ryan, wait! Don’t leave here!"
He didn’t even look back.
Aurora dusted off her hands, then turned to Spencer.
"Do you feel happy now? I have taken revenge on your behalf."
Spencer’s eyes lit up like a kid on Christmas morning. He grinned from ear to ear and threw his arms up slightly.
"Happy?" he said. "Aurora, I’m super happy. Watching that guy crash and burn? That was pure gold. But more than that, I’m just... really glad you stood up for . That was amazing."
Aurora laughed lightly, her tone playfully smug. "Well, soone had to do it. That punk had it coming."
Still smiling, Spencer tilted his head slightly, his curiosity finally breaking through the excitent.
"But, uh... seriously. How are you rich enough to own a whole mall?"
Aurora blinked, then gave a small shrug, her voice light and nonchalant.
"Oh, that. My godmother gave it to ," she said casually, waving a hand like it was no big deal. "You know, as a gift."
Spencer narrowed his eyes just a little, his grin faltering.
He noticed how she didn’t quite et his gaze when she spoke, how her smile was just a bit too practiced.
"That’s... so good godmother," he muttered.
She gave a guilty little smile but didn’t say anything more.
Spencer knew she was lying—but he didn’t push. If Aurora didn’t want to tell him the truth yet, he’d wait. He trusted her.
Instead, he turned to the saleswoman.
"Can you please pack the red dress? The one we had seen earlier?"
The saleswoman bead.
"Of course, sir! That piece will look stunning on her. Truly a perfect choice."
The store manager chid in as well.
"Miss Aurora, your taste is remarkable. And your strategy earlier—very sharp. Not many would’ve thought to flip the situation so cleverly."
Aurora waved her hand with a smile, clearly used to brushing off complints.
"It wasn’t a big deal," she said. "He basically scamd himself. I just gave him a little push."
After a few more bags and a few more outfits, Aurora and Spencer finally left the store.
Their arms were full of luxury items, and they looked like a glamorous power couple walking through the mall—though neither of them said it aloud.
Soon after, they reunited with the rest of their group. Betsy, Dana, Mia, and Luca were waiting near the food court.
"Hey!" Aurora waved. "Took you guys long enough."
Betsy greeted them with a smile, but her gaze flicked toward Mia, whose face was unusually gloomy. Even her posture was slouched, and she didn’t lift her head to say hello.
Aurora’s expression changed imdiately. She walked up to Mia, her voice gentle.
"Hey... what’s wrong?"
Mia blinked, then quickly looked away. "Nothing. I’m fine."
But Aurora didn’t buy it for a second.
Still, before she could ask more, Luca checked his watch and stood up. "I’ve got to go. I have class in the evening."
Betsy stretched her arms. "Sa here. I’ve got work prep. Let’s catch up later?"
Dana waved as well. "I’m leaving with my mom today. She’s picking up nearby."
Spencer offered instantly, "I can drop you guys off." His words were directed at Mia and Aurora.
They headed for the car, and soon Spencer was driving with Aurora sitting in the backseat beside Mia.
Aurora kept glancing sideways, trying to catch Mia’s eyes, but the girl just stared out the window.
"Seriously, Mia," Aurora whispered. "What happened?"
Mia gave a half-hearted smile and shook her head. "It’s nothing. Really."
Aurora frowned, but after another attempt and still no answer, she gave up. Whatever it was, Mia clearly wasn’t ready to talk. Not yet.
The ride was quiet after that, and soon they pulled up in front of Mia’s house.
Mia murmured a quiet goodbye and left the car. Aurora watched her go, a knot of worry sitting heavy in her chest.
Spencer drove on, and eventually they arrived at Aurora’s residential area—an elegant neighborhood lined with sleek buildings and private gates.
As she opened the door, Aurora turned back and smiled at Spencer.
"Thanks for today," she said.
"And give two days. I’ll have a room arranged for you nearby. Also, I’ll make sure you get an allowance—$100,000 per month, just like we discussed."
Spencer nodded.
Suddenly, Aurora asked,
"Are you a virgin?"
