It was clear he had been through a dangerous incident. His assistant stood nearby, hesitant, watching his employer’s expression.

The assistant finally asked in a quiet voice, "Should I tell Miss Aurora the truth?"

Spencer shook his head slightly. His voice was low but firm. "No. I don’t want her to worry."

Just yesterday, Spencer had narrowly escaped a dangerous assassination attempt.

The situation had gotten so serious that he had been admitted to the hospital, leaving him unable to contact Aurora at all.

He knew well how worried she would have been.

Most of the ti, her anger wasn’t really at him personally.

It was because she had no idea what was happening and because he had chosen to hide the truth.

From past experiences, Spencer had noticed that Aurora always asked whether he was safe every single ti they exchanged ssages.

No matter what, she would find a way to probe, to ask him if anything had happened, if he was hurt.

Each ti, he skillfully avoided giving her a direct answer.

He had done this so many tis that he knew she was growing impatient.

He understood that when her worry reached its peak, she might start getting angry, and that was exactly what had happened today.

He had tried to make excuses, but it had only made her more upset.

He decided it would be better not to speak with Aurora for the ti being.

Even if he tried to explain, she might not understand his condition, and he did not want to frighten her.

His assistant watched him quietly, a hint of pity in his eyes.

anwhile, Aurora returned to her apartnt after school.

The mont she entered her room, she collapsed onto her bed.

She closed her eyes and a sudden rush of tears ca, as if they had been held back by her mind until now.

She did not want to cry, but the emotions were too heavy to hold in.

She did not want to get angry at Spencer, and yet she could not help feeling upset.

His words today, his excuses, his silence, they all seed like signs that he was hiding sothing important from her.

She was tired...not just physically, but ntally.

Tired of the worry, tired of being in the dark, tired because she had already realized that even though she kept saying she had not fallen in love with Spencer, she had already done so without even noticing.

The thought of him ignoring her, of keeping secrets from her, was unbearable.

After a few monts, her brain began to calm down.

She realized what she suspected all along: He was lying! No way he would have fallen asleep and hence forgotten to see her ssage.

She knew that he had likely faced a serious problem, but he had not told her.

That realization made her angry all over again.

Her mood turned heavy, and for a mont she wanted to run to him, to shake him, to demand answers.

She wanted to make him understand the way she felt, to make him feel the frustration, the worry, and the exhaustion she had endured.

She took a deep breath and wiped her tears. Then, she stood up and walked over to her laptop.

She opened it and accessed the program she had been using for situations like this.

She had previously installed a chip in Spencer’s phone without telling him, giving her the ability to see ssages, calls, and location information remotely.

She knew he would never approve, but she also knew she needed to know the truth.

Within minutes, she navigated through his phone.

She discovered that he had undergone surgery yesterday.

The ssages confirming it made her close her eyes in anger.

Her first reaction was to feel fury at him for hiding such a serious event.

How could he not tell her?

For a mont, she wanted to rush to the hospital, to go to him and scold him until he regretted his decision.

Aurora leaned back in her chair and took a deep breath, suppressing her emotions.

Then she dialed his number. When he answered, she did not speak at first.

She only listened to his voice, tired and soft on the other end.

Spencer stayed silent as well, though his rapid breathing betrayed his nervousness.

The assistant standing by his bedside, couldn’t help but roll his eyes.

’Boss is truly a scared cat.’

Finally, Aurora broke the silence. "Do you understand where your mistake was?" she asked in a calm voice.

Spencer sighed, his voice low and helpless. "I... I didn’t want to make you worry," he admitted.

Aurora’s heart skipped a beat, but she did not show it.

Instead, she let herself understand what he had just said.

He already knew that she could access his phone.

Otherwise, he would not be so sure that she already knew the truth.

And yet, he had waited. He had let her discover the situation on her own.

The thought made her furious. She laughed, the kind that carried both anger and disbelief.

"Were you planning to let this misunderstanding stay between us till I discover everything on my own? Just to see make a fool of myself?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly with frustration and anger.

"Did you really want to see suffer just to test if I could figure it out?"

Spencer chuckled softly. "I wanted to make sure my girlfriend was still smart," he said, almost playfully.

Aurora ground her teeth,

"You are unbelievable. Once you return, I am going to make sure you learn a proper lesson for this."

Spencer shivered at the words. He knew her well enough to realize that her kind of threat was serious.

Then, in a quiet voice, he said,

"I will need at least three more years before I can co back. Who knows if you will rember the grudge you hold against by then?"

Aurora’s lips curved into a small, quiet smile. She said nothing.

But her hands were much faster as she scribbled on the notebook she had prepared. If he thought he could get away with hiding the truth, he was mistaken.

Spencer, unaware of her thoughts, continued speaking in his calm tone.

"We should not dwell on these things. Instead, we should focus on the beautiful future ahead."

Aurora remained silent. She decided not to respond imdiately.

After a pause, Spencer added,

"I am planning a vacation in three months. During that ti, I will have a body double here, but I will go to another place myself."

Aurora’s eyes lit up. That was her chance.

"If that is the case, then you need to tell the location. I will co too," she said quickly, her voice steady but eager.

Spencer chuckled lightly, as if he had expected her response.

"Then we can plan a coincidental eting there. We will have a good ti."

Aurora rolled her eyes, thinking of her grudge list and how she would make sure he paid for all the worry he caused her.

Yet she did not voice her thoughts. She simply asked, "How is your injury? Is it really okay?"

Spencer paused for a mont. "It is fine. The pain is not as much as before; it’s a minor injury anyway," he said, his voice careful.

Aurora let out a low laugh.

"If you dare downplay it again, I will make sure everyone knows you are weak, and they will know that I am your only real weakness."

Spencer’s pupils widened slightly, and he quickly raised a white flag.

"It was my mistake. I will not do it again in the future," he admitted, his tone sincere.

Aurora closed her eyes briefly. Sotis, when dealing with a stubborn boyfriend, it would be better to be straightforward.

Suddenly, she thought about her decision and said softly,

"Spencer, I am planning to skip grades."

"Why?" Spencer’s worried voice ca from the other end.

"I don’t want to waste my ti." Aurora murmured, "But at the sa ti, I am worried about Mia. I don’t want to leave her... she is such a nice friend..."

Spencer could hear the confusion in Aurora’s mind and chuckled, "Well, the solution is pretty simple. Just skip grades, finish early, and keep in contact with Mia. So what if you both don’t attend the high school together? It’s not like you won’t et again."

Aurora paused before nodding. "I know... I just feel... what if I miss out on making precious high school mories?"

Spencer chuckled; a hint of sadness was evident in his tone.

"Aurora I can understand. But rember this... in this world, you can’t have everything. You must sacrifice to gain sothing. The choice is yours. Your bright future or a peaceful future. Either is fine."

A bright future requires her to skip the grades and beco the youngest entrepreneur.

A peaceful future requires her to forget about skipping grades and living an average life with beautiful mories.
