VOLUPTUOUS TEMPTATION
Life in the bandit camp was never dull.
Shen Chen had grown accustod to the rhythm of their days—the raids, the training, the stories around the fire. But there was one aspect of camp life that he had not anticipated: the attention of a certain woman.
Her na was Yue. She was a tall woman with curves that seed to defy the harshness of the desert, her figure both voluptuous and athletic. Her hair was jet-black, her eyes dark and smoldering. She had joined the bandits a few months before Shen Chen, and she had taken an imdiate interest in him.
It started with small things. A lingering touch when she handed him his food. A soft laugh at his jokes. A gaze that seed to linger a mont too long.
Shen Chen tried to ignore it. He was focused on his cultivation, on his goals, on the enemies he would one day face. He had no ti for distractions.
But Yue was persistent.
One evening, she found him alone at the edge of the camp, his eyes fixed on the stars.
"Chen," she said, her voice husky. "You're always alone. Don't you get lonely?"
Shen Chen turned to her, his expression carefully neutral. "I'm used to it."
Yue stepped closer, her body brushing against his. "You don't have to be alone," she murmured, her hand resting on his chest. "I can keep you company. Keep you warm."
Shen Chen felt his heart race, his body responding to her proximity. She was beautiful, desirable, and she was offering herself to him without reservation.
But sothing held him back.
I can't. I can't let myself get distracted. Not now. Not when I'm so close.
He gently removed her hand from his chest, his voice soft but firm. "Yue, you're beautiful. And I'm flattered. But I can't. Not now."
Her eyes widened, a flicker of hurt crossing her face. "Why not? Are you... are you not interested?"
"I'm interested," Shen Chen said, his voice honest. "But I have goals. Responsibilities. I can't afford to let myself be distracted."
Yue studied him for a long mont. Then she smiled, a sad, knowing expression.
"You're running from sothing, aren't you? Sothing in your past?"
Shen Chen was silent. He didn't need to confirm it.
"Fine," Yue said, stepping back. "I won't push. But when you're ready—when you stop running—you know where to find ."
She walked away, her hips swaying, her presence lingering in the air long after she had gone.
Shen Chen let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding.
That was close. Too close.
He returned to his tent, his mind racing. The temptation had been real, the desire undeniable. But he had resisted.
I need to stay focused. I can't let anything distract from my path.
He sat down on his bed of furs, closed his eyes, and began to cultivate. The Void Core pulsed within him, a constant reminder of the power he had achieved and the power he still sought.
I'll have ti for relationships later. When I'm strong enough. When I've claid what's mine.
The night stretched on, and he lost himself in his cultivation.

The next morning, Yue acted as if nothing had happened.
She greeted him with a warm smile, handed him his breakfast, and went about her duties without any awkwardness. Shen Chen was grateful for her tact.
She understands. She respects my boundaries.
He felt a warmth toward her, a deep affection that went beyond physical attraction. She was a good person, a loyal friend, a trusted ally.
But he couldn't let himself get closer. Not yet. Not when his path was still so uncertain.
Old Liu noticed the tension between them, his sharp eyes missing nothing.
"You know," he said, settling beside Shen Chen, "Yue is a good woman. Loyal, strong, faithful. You could do worse."
Shen Chen sighed. "I know. But I can't let myself get distracted."
Old Liu nodded slowly. "I understand. But don't close yourself off completely, boy. Life is short. Too short to spend it alone."
Shen Chen was silent for a long mont. Then he nodded.
"I'll keep that in mind."
