Dinner was still pleasant, and Charlotte finally breathed a sigh of relief. However, from today’s incident, it was clear that Atlas Hallow was indeed a very dangerous man. If she wasn’t careful, she could end up bruised and battered. Just because he wasn’t angry now, didn’t an he would never be.

Charlotte’s understanding was correct. Although she had beco aware, she hadn’t truly realized what she had done—she had touched the deepest aggressiveness in a man’s heart.

The lighting in the restaurant was perfect, and Charlotte’s mouth was stuffed with food, her cheeks slightly puffed out like a little squirrel.

Her appetite was indeed better than that of most girls. Just like she said, girls who don’t need to lose weight are quite rare. Atlas looked at her enjoying her food so much, his appetite improved too. He took a few bites before the mobile phone on the dining table rang.

Charlotte’s gaze instinctively fell on the phone. She didn’t see the number clearly, but the character "初" on the lit-up screen made her heart inexplicably tighten. Intuition told her this "初" should be a girl’s na.

The man, who was always elegant while dining, picked up the phone, stood up, and walked to a quiet corner of the restaurant. Hidden among the flower racks, Charlotte seed to see a completely unfamiliar Atlas Hallow.

The man, usually stern and mature, had completely relaxed his brows. She couldn’t hear his voice, but seeing his deanor, she could tell he was speaking in soft murmurs.

Was this Atlas Hallow? That moody and unreasonably domineering ruler?

Suddenly, the food tasted as bland as wax, as her tongue could no longer sense the rich flavors of the exquisite dishes.

Actually, it was foreseeable that this man couldn’t possibly have no interest in won; he was just uninterested in those he didn’t like. But who was this woman calling? What was her relationship with Atlas Hallow?

A girl with the character "初" in her na—must be quite lovely, right?

"What’s wrong?" A gentle, smooth voice slipped from his thin lips, sounding unexpectedly cautious. If anyone else heard it, they wouldn’t believe Atlas Hallow was speaking.

"Is she okay? When..." The girl on the other end of the phone had a sowhat hoarse and dark voice, lacking the charm and brightness a girl should have.

"She’s fine, but the timing isn’t right yet. I’ll arrange it," he continued speaking in a low voice, not loud but with enough patience. His lowered brows and eyes made it impossible to see the obscure glimr in his pupils.

"But I’m still a little worried," the girl on the other end lightly sighed, her prolonged breath inducing heartache.

"You’re overthinking," Atlas reassured her, yet didn’t give the answer the girl wanted.

He knew what Hailey Hill wanted, but at this mont he suddenly didn’t want to promise.

Atlas Hallow never thought the woman he would marry would be Charlotte, nor did he expect a woman could affect his entire layout.

Watching Charlotte from a distance, she continued to happily eat the dessert on her plate, seemingly unaffected. Under the crystal lighting, her small face appeared incredibly radiant—a white that seed to have fluorescent light gliding over it, captivating to behold.

"When will you co to see ?" Hailey Hill had already sensed sothing amiss with Atlas Hallow, just through the wavelengths she could sense his breathing was quicker than usual. He should be with his newlywed wife, the Miller Family’s young lady, right?

This feeling is really indescribable, wanting them to be together, yet imagining them being together felt like having the heart cut open with a knife, leaving it bloody.

Atlas Hallow’s gaze floated in the air, seemingly searching for direction. Even the voice on the other end of the phone sounded almost inaudible.

"Get so rest, Hailey." Atlas never gave anyone a definite answer, nor had he ever promised any woman, even if she was Hailey Hill.

After hanging up the phone, he returned to his seat only to find Charlotte had already finished her entire cake, even eating half of his dessert.

She wouldn’t ask much. If he wanted to talk, Atlas would speak himself. The fact that he chose to avoid her while answering this phone call proved he didn’t want her to know who was calling and didn’t want her to hear any part of the conversation.

Was he with a girl? Just this fact was enough for her to deliberate over in her mind, yet in this subtle pondering, there was a slightly sour feeling. Even though the marriage had been hastily registered, this man was already her husband, and to call a woman while avoiding her clearly suggested so hidden issue. This woman wasn’t his coworker, nor a custor, and definitely not a partner.

She was certain because Charlotte’s intuition was always astonishingly accurate, almost unnaturally so.

"Greedy woman, yours isn’t enough to eat?" Atlas Hallow looked at the strawberry coconut tart that had already been half eaten by her.

"I thought you didn’t eat desserts." He was a man who paired coffee with dumplings, surely not liking desserts at all? If she drank black coffee, she’d have to eat sothing sweet like a caral cookie or a white chocolate cake.

"You think?" Atlas Hallow chuckled lowly, extending his long arm to take the cake from the table, using a small spoon to scoop up a piece from where she’d just eaten. The delicate rich sweetness blood on his tongue.

She guessed correctly; he didn’t eat desserts. However, it seed like this slice of white chocolate cake was extraordinarily tempting, possessing her flavor, enticing him to savor it slowly.

Before discovering the odd phone call, Charlotte was still hesitant, even not contemplating Ethan Baird’s business. But after this peculiar call, that thought never wavered again.

Ethan was right; she must secure an exit for herself, and although money might seem vulgar at tis, it was incredibly practical.

With enough money, she’d have enough confidence to protect herself and her family.

Her face still held a tender smile, yet her heart was secretly plotting, with faint ripples erging in her clear, watery eyes...

A person’s eyes cannot lie. The sweetness still lingered on his tongue, yet Atlas Hallow accurately captured the change in Charlotte’s gaze.
