"Ethan Baird is your senior?" It was already late when they finished dinner and left. Charlotte Miller was lazily seated in the passenger seat, appearing as if she was about to fall asleep. Her heart skipped a beat when she heard him ask this question.

He was imnsely powerful; could he have heard so rumors? However, her efforts at secrecy were quite comprehensive—only Ethan Baird knew. After all, the "Currency City" private wealth center was established in his na; she had always remained behind the scenes. But today, Atlas Hallow’s question suggested that he had so suspicions.

Did he suspect a personal relationship or a professional one between her and Ethan Baird?

"I worked as his assistant at one of the companies he founded, just a side job in my spare ti." Charlotte Miller decided to co clean. If he already knew sothing and she continued to hide it, she’d be in trouble. She had seen glimpses of his temper today, and that was likely just the tip of the iceberg.

"Are you in need of money?" She had ntioned working in a coffee shop and at Ethan Baird’s company, even though she was mostly bluffing, it sounded sincere. So he played along with her ga, earnestly.

"Not really." It definitely couldn’t compare to the Hallow Family; it was like a drop in the ocean. But she never lacked what she needed to spend. After all, she wasn’t Luna Miller, who was crazy about luxury goods and Jack Smith. Even without considering the money she earned herself, what the Miller Family provided was more than enough for a comfortable life abroad.

"You worked as his personal assistant; why didn’t you co to work as mine?" She had walked right into a trap of her own making and couldn’t bla him for it in the slightest.

Suddenly, Charlotte Miller felt like she’d fallen right into a pit.

It seed like he held a net in his hands, an invisible net that was slowly expanding and trapping her.

"Assistant Parker is a good person, I can’t let him lose his job, right?" Charlotte Miller murmured softly, looking at Atlas Hallow’s profile.

"You’re misunderstanding. Charlotte, you should think that he’s too busy, so you should help share so of his workload." Atlas Hallow smiled and reached out to pinch her cheek.

How did this girl grow so well? She had such a good appetite yet didn’t gain much weight, but the elasticity and texture of her skin made it irresistible to touch.

"We have a generation gap, of course we think differently." Charlotte Miller blurted out unintentionally, and she felt a sudden sting on her face.

Atlas Hallow had been feeling quite pleased as he touched her, but this remark doused the little fla. A generation gap? What was she implying?

"Just three years make a generation gap, yet we differ by almost three generations. Communication is indeed an issue." Seeing Atlas Hallow’s darkening face, Charlotte Miller added fuel to the fire.

She wasn’t a fool and knew there were tis you could joke and tis you couldn’t.

Like now, he only pinched her cheek hard without truly getting angry.

"Report to the CEO’s office tomorrow, got it?" Atlas Hallow ignored her talk of a generation gap and issued a direct order.

That put an end to her hopes of hearing so gossip or indulging in an idle life of rumors at the restaurant.

Charlotte Miller didn’t speak, falling into silence. In the car, it was only their mixed breathing. As the car entered the winding road leading to the Hallow Family’s private drive, Atlas Hallow leaned over, the seductive air around him tinged with danger, "No matter how many generations apart we are, I can still make you unable to get up. Want to try it today?"

"There’s no need to rush, right?" Charlotte Miller’s cheeks reddened instantly, her heart beating faster at the implications in his words.

"I’ll give you so ti to adapt, but not to let you run wild. If you act up again, I’ll open your mind, clean it out, and then put it back." Truly a man obsessed with absolute control—even though she had already married him, it still seed far from enough.

He even wanted to control her thoughts. This man was terrifying, and she had a deep fear of what being "unable to get up" entailed. She didn’t want to disrupt their current dynamic, knowing change would bring more danger.
