"She is your sister, and it’s her first ti asking for help. I refused because I was afraid you might feel uncomfortable." Atlas Hallow made it seem as though he was only reluctantly agreeing for her sake.
"You, you..." She was so angry that she almost coughed up blood. How did she end up eting Atlas Hallow!? He was like an absolute nesis.
Her blood vessels felt like they were about to burst, but she couldn’t afford to get angry or make a big scene.
The man’s face appeared sowhat unfamiliar, overlapping with the face she saw when they first t about ten days ago. Despite the close relationship over these days, she couldn’t see through him.
"What about ?" Atlas Hallow’s voice cut through the air, low and elegant, rich in magnetism yet tinged with a chilly indifference that pierced her eardrums.
His eyes were so dark that there wasn’t a hint of light, still lingering over what Charlotte Miller had said: she would find a way out on her own.
Even when their relationship was confird, she still thought about extricating herself, which sohow lit a naless fire in Atlas Hallow’s heart, starting with a spark and growing until it engulfed his entire being.
"I’m just worried that Luna might get cheated, and your money might not be returned." Charlotte Miller blinked her long lashes, her tone turning helpless.
"It doesn’t matter." Atlas Hallow shrugged nonchalantly and lightly patted his own thigh in front of Charlotte.
For a mont, Charlotte didn’t understand what he wanted, dazed for a few seconds before realizing his intention: was he asking her to co over?
She hesitated as she took a step forward, only to be pulled directly onto his lap by Atlas Hallow’s long arms, landing with all her weight, locking eyes with him.
"What are you afraid of? Afraid of owing fifty million?" His thin lips slightly parted with a hint of a smile that reached deep into her eyes. Was that aningful smile mocking her?
"It’s her debt, not mine." Charlotte Miller found discussing this so close was exceedingly awkward.
"It doesn’t matter, as it’s owed by the Miller Family. In the end, it’s always soone from the Miller Family paying it back." Atlas Hallow lightly raised his brow, watching her sullen and angry face, pretending to ponder: "Did I do sothing wrong just now?"
You really are wrong; your whole family is wrong. Yet, such words can only be scread internally to vent, as she dared not directly confront Atlas now, fearing he might leave her half-dead.
Charlotte Miller felt like Atlas Hallow was always waiting for every opportunity to tightly grasp her fate in his hands.
Atlas Hallow saw through all her little thoughts, thoroughly understanding, as he asked her, restraining a smile: "Are you afraid of getting too involved with and not being able to escape?"
Those words seed to explode like a bomb in Charlotte’s mind, leaving her face pale.
He indeed heard what she said, and just because she ntioned wanting to find a way out, he threw fifty million and lent the Hallow Clan Tower for three days for filming?
Could he really be that rich and foolish?
Definitely not. He might be rich, but he was certainly not foolish. Why did he want to hold her so tightly?
There must be so extrely startling inside story here, one she still hadn’t uncovered.
Such a direct question pushed the atmosphere directly to an awkward climax.
"Afraid to answer , huh?" His final word softly lingered, yet the dangerous aura in his voice spread out, engulfing her with a sweeping current.
