However Fulgardt viewed the incoming projectiles, he knew he had to counter them. Indeed, it would not be an easy feat. Regardless of how good the ring of light under his feet was, giving him absurd reflexes and super-enhanced basic physical attributes, projectiles moving at two hundred and forty tis the speed of light... were way faster than the ones moving at half that speed.

When the first wave of the Inverted Amras hands reached him, Fulgardt responded with freakish backhand flicks that knocked ten of them off course. But in exchange for this feat, ten others managed to touch him. When they felt the length of his cloak and the contours of his flesh, the hands gripped tight.

...!!!

The ring of light under Fulgardt flickered. The Amras running through his body (churning from his Broader Existence) was disrupted, which made it difficult to maintain the [Just Light] circle.

The Immoral’s hands blurred. The after images they left behind left behind their own after images as he pushed his body to its utmost limit!

Swiping away the ten hands that had touched him, he swatted away thirty more and more still.

The strain mounted Fulgardt like an elephant. By the ti he had swatted away a thousand Inverted Amras hands, his arms were feverishly hot, his flesh cooking. He hardly showed it on his face, though. His eyes ran around in his socket, the pupils constricted for maximum focus. The Immoral was processing and judging many things at once.

’This interpretation of darkness...’ he thought. ’I see.’

BAM!

He hadn’t seen it coming.

A dark fist smashed into his face. The force behind it tore off Fulgardt’s skin, teeth and cheekbones. Worse yet, it injected a pulse of rampant Inverted Amras that flooded into his body and shattered every vein of Amras he was operating within it. For a whole mont, Fulgardt’s [Just Light] was completely shut down, but he took it up again in the next.

’Crafty,’ he thought.

And crafty it was indeed, because he was punished for that second he took away from the safe guidance of the light. The barrage of blows riddled him raw. 239,875 hands crashed into the Immoral in rapid succession!

The majority of them simply clutched his cloak and arms, and legs and hair, but so – very few – played dirty. They flew in arcs and smashed into his temple, aid for his chin, his armpit, his sternum, and even his crotch. These were the strongest punches – the ones which discharged Inverted Amras imdiately upon lethal contact.

It was a miracle how Fulgardt survived. In fact, it was suspicious. Large chunks of him were missing by the end of the manhandling he endured from the nearly two hundred and forty hands. Even as blood dripped from every ghastly bite-like arc on his body, he looked the furthest thing from defeat. As soon as the [Just Light] circle returned, he was holding his own, swatting the hands away while healing and recovering his grin.

That sign of mirth was stolen from him montarily, though. The Immoral hadn’t expected it.

Because he’d succumbed to the barrage before, which forced him to relinquish his radiant range of invincibility, a certain Apostle had found the perfect chance to make himself unknown and sneak behind the Immoral.

When the blow ca, Fulgardt had to grimace. Beyrmir had punched him in the spine with enough power to make a small world burrow in on itself like a sinkhole. The monastery sang the blow’s praises with an echoing roar.

Fulgardt was forced forward by the force, the flesh on his back rupturing.

He remained attached to the ring of light, however. He kept defending against the Inverted Amras hands, but then...

SHIIIIIIIIIIIING!

It was another blow he hadn’t seen coming.

The Immoral was no fool.

He’d noted that behind the Inverted Amras hands, there were sneaky attacks Skullius had thrown in to catch him off guard, but this one wasn’t what he’d expected.

It was a slash... but not just any slash.

It had been a [False Tickler], a [Ruining Cutter] imbued with Maximum Jaqquezjaqqz. Such an attack was able to deal so damage to even a Deity.

However, what had struck Fulgardt was worse.

The [False Tickler] he had predicted before had been charged with Inverted Amras and turned into sothing sinister.

Fulgardt must have been lucky. The slash caught him from right under the diaphragm to the waist, clawing through with no resistance. When he tasted it, Fulgardt imdiately knew what kind of properties it had.

’I cannot heal from it.’

Indeed, he could not.

As soon as he attempted to use raw [Just Light] to heal, the shockingly stubborn Inverted Amras left behind by the slash on his flesh rejected it, thereby refusing any Amras-powered efforts for restoration.

It was a scary technique.

At once, Fulgardt noted the locations of all like-tempered slashes. As powerful as they were, they weren’t impossible to sense. Only two more of them were hidden within the unending barrage of Inverted Amras hands.

The aning behind that detail was clear. Fulgardt almost smirked.

Another blow crashed into his cheek, likely from behind, and he staggered to the right, but then amidst the rain of hands, Skullius had sohow found a chance to shot step in, and deliver a raging uppercut that tossed Fulgardt’s chin upwards. He followed it up with high kick that smashed into Fulgardt’s ear... but the Immoral maintained his balance sohow.

A soft laugh breached the thin gap between his bleeding lips.

Skullius ignored it.

Beyrmir held down Fulgardt from behind, and he (Skullius) nailed the Immoral’s face with blows just as vicious as the ones his Inverted Amras continued to land on him. The hands swerved to avoid him, but continued on, striking at the Immoral rcilessly.

Skullius was relentless.

The more his Inverted Amras hands chipped away at Fulgardt’s Amras, causing his circle of control to fade, the more he felt his confidence, as well as vigilance, surge. The Immoral wasn’t defending himself. His body was being gouged out by malevolent hands, strangled, torn, and clawed. Skullius’ fists smashed his nose in, busted his lips, scraped the skin on his forehead, and knocked teeth out... but he remained impassive. He didn’t defend anymore.

’I know you are planning sothing, but you don’t scare , Fulgardt. In fact, I’m the one who scared you, wasn’t I? That slash wasn’t so pretty, was it? I can produce more of those than you think!’ he thought, his wobbly body of darkness surging and collapsing. ’Here cos another one!’

And indeed, another Inverted [False Tickler] ca speeding from behind Skullius.

It was a simple black line peppered with tiny, ssy dots of light. It was an end to persistent creatures the likes of Fulgardt.

However...
