Zephyr had a tanky body, but he didn’t like getting beaten up, so he didn’t bother going closer to the dead giant’s body, as there were just too many of those weird snails feasting on its body.

With many questions in his head, Zephyr changed his route, took a detour, and tried to avoid the possibility of getting detected as much as possible.

But of course, his bad luck was not going to let him have a peaceful ti at all.

Suddenly a big snail monster used so kind of invisible attack and blasted off many of the snails eating the shattered pieces of a kidney, and those snails ca flying straight in Zephyr’s direction!

With resentnt on his face, Zephyr squatted on the ground, took a defensive position, and placed the shield in front of him to protect himself from the incoming projectiles.

*BAAAMMM!!!*

As if a cannonball had collided with his shield, the impact from the snail monster hitting his shield was so strong that the ground beneath Zephyr’s feet cracked and debris flew into the air, almost causing Zephyr’s arms to break!

"Urgh..."

A groan of pain escaped his mouth as Zephyr’s arms went numb for a second from the sheer pain.

Thankfully, his recovery and physical impact absorption ability were strong, so he recovered back to full health almost imdiately!

Zephyr managed to walk out unscathed from that collision, but the snail monster was definitely not as resistant as him to physical damage as its entire body blew apart after hitting Zephyr’s shield!

Dark black blood splattered all over the ground as pieces of at and innards fell everywhere, tainting the ground red.

The sll of rotting at, blood, and feces spilled from the innards of the creature and assaulted Zephyr’s nose, almost causing him to faint.

Like oil sizzling on a frying pan, the dark black blood started sizzling on the ground imdiately as its acidic properties reacted with the ash-covered ground fiercely!

"I need to get out of here..."

With no ti to waste to care about the boiling acidic blood everywhere, Zephyr imdiately carried his shield on his back and dashed straight towards the direction of his destination at full speed!

Stepping on the acidic blood made his feet burn, and intense pain assaulted his mind imdiately, but Zephyr did not stop at all, and the pain only made him dash even faster!

As if proving Zephyr’s worries true, dozens of snail monsters scread and started chasing Zephyr imdiately at full speed!

Although one of the snails was killed instantly after colliding with Zephyr’s shield, there were several dozens that were still alive as they had crashed into the ground nearby.

Zephyr knew that those snails that crashed into the ground must have survived, and with them all being capable of doing ntal attacks, Zephyr will likely not survive if he gets caught up in the middle of them all!

The snail monsters scread extrely loudly, causing even more of the snails to get attracted by the commotion and start chasing him.

Zephyr even noticed that so of the snails even decided to let go of the giant dead body and instead started to chase after him as if he were a more preferable target than an entire giant corpse!

Seeing this scene, Zephyr felt frustrated.

’Don’t tell that the favorite food of these human snails is eating humans and rging them into their own body?’

’That would explain why they are willing to chase after instead of feasting on that giant corpse that was easily available to them...’

Predators usually like prey that is easy to catch and wouldn’t take too much effort and energy during the hunt, unless the predator is a picky eater that likes eating one type of food more than any other!

The snail monsters had an entire buffet placed in front of them all, and yet they all chased after Zephyr, who likely wasn’t even enough for a single one of them, let alone so many.

This clearly showed that these monsters were more hostile to humans than any other creature and could even ignore food literally placed near their mouth just for the sake of hunting human beings!

’Tch! If only I could fly!’

Zephyr looked at this lottery panel with a look of hesitation on his face as he didn’t know if he should do a pull or not.

He had around 17000 BP now and even had a rare skill pull chance, and if he managed to pull a skill that could help him escape, like super speed or sothing, he could indeed turn this situation around.

But the main problem with the lottery pull was that Zephyr was fully aware that his bad luck would likely not let the system give him sothing that would help him out right now, and his lottery pull would likely go to waste.

Although Zephyr was fast due to his powerful physique, he was still just a single person, and the enemy were in the dozens!

Moreover, the number was still increasing at a rapid pace as more and more snail monsters kept rushing over to hunt down Zephyr instead of eating the food placed in front of them, honestly.
