Jas Black folded back on his path, his lips curling into a slight smile as he took one step after another back to Jane Sampson’s side.
The next second, he swiftly reached out, snatching a small box that Jane sohow had clutched in the palm of her hand.
While staring at the dumbfounded face before him, Jas Black chuckled softly, "There, I’ve got it now, haven’t I?"
It was both a show of bragging and a challenge.
Jane Sampson was utterly confused and caught off guard.
She hadn’t anticipated this shaless side of Jas Black.
"Shall I open it?" Jas Black toyed with the box in his hand, feeling that the logo on it seed vaguely familiar.
"Mhm~" Jane Sampson pouted her lips. He had already snatched it, so why even ask?
Jas Black first gently tapped Jane Sampson’s forehead with his hand, then leisurely opened the small box.
It was a pair of cufflinks.
Specifically, a pair of diamond cufflinks.
Upon closer inspection, Jas Black understood why he found the logo on the box familiar.
Not too long ago, he had bought Jane a set of diamond jewelry from this brand at a mall counter.
That set of jewelry wasn’t cheap.
Considering the purity and size of the diamonds on the cufflinks, Jas Black thought they must be priced similarly to the jewelry set.
So, his wife, well, was broke again.
"This pair of cufflinks is the couple’s edition of the jewelry set you gave . The issue volu of the cufflinks is half that of the set. Fortunately, I’m familiar with the company and a key custor, so when they released this edition, the personnel imdiately called , and I asked them to reserve it for . At that ti, I didn’t realize your birthday would coincide so perfectly."
Jane Sampson explained, "Take a good look, can you notice anything?"
Jas Black then examined the modestly sized cufflinks in the palm of his hand carefully, rotating them back and forth a couple of tis until his gaze settled on one corner of the diamond setting.
On one of the cufflinks, there was a bold "C," and on the other, a similarly uppercase "Y."
"Does it represent Jas Black and Jane Sampson?" Jas Black asked in a low voice.
"Mhm." Jane Sampson nodded slightly, then smiled, "Do you like this gift?"
"I like it," Jas Black responded.
He liked the gift and even more so, the person who gave it to him.
He also held a keen fondness for the "C" and "Y" side by side.
Seeing that Jas Black was not giving a perfunctory response, Jane Sampson finally felt reassured.
Although disappointed at not managing to use this opportunity to get Jas to wear the clothes she so wanted to see him in.
But no matter, there would be plenty of ti to wear him down to do so.
Jas carefully placed the pair of cufflinks in the wardrobe drawer, not the bedhead cabinet. After putting them away, he turned around and picked up Jane Sampson in his arms.
"I’m really looking forward to this day next year," Jas Black mused inwardly. Why do people customarily celebrate a birthday for just one day?
Why not ten or even a hundred days?
That way, she could continue to stay by his side, keeping him company.
Jane Sampson wrapped her arms around Jas Black’s neck, teasing him with a light laugh, "Today still has several hours left, and you’re already looking forward to the sa ti next year?"
Jas Black didn’t reply but gently set her down in the bed.
He wished he could make up for the birthdays he missed, all by her side.
He wished every day was his birthday so she could be with him and indulge his every whim, just like today.
