He said, "Later, I thought about it, and the first thing I did was to call you. I kept calling but couldn’t get through. After checking, I found out that your crew had an accident. Without much thought, I imdiately bought the closest train ticket, took the train, and then transferred to an express train to co here."
"Did you have a dream that sothing happened to ?" Jane Sampson looked utterly astonished.
"No, you weren’t in the nightmare, but when I woke up, I just felt worried about you for no reason," Jas Carter shook his head. "I’ve told you before that I have a sister about your age in the house, right? Perhaps it’s because I’ve been a brother for so long that I subconsciously think of you as a sister as well. Maybe that’s just the bond between people."
Jane Sampson blinked her sparkling eyes in amazent, face full of surprise.
She had never expected such a simple reason.
A few seconds later, Jane Sampson smiled sweetly, "Then am I not lucky? Out of the blue, I have Mr. Carter as a brother, and why does that make my heart feel so happy?"
"It’s fine if you don’t find it weird that I care so much," Jas Carter found his concern for Jane Sampson a bit inexplicable himself.
It was just like Jas Carter’s character—always following his heart. Whatever he wanted to do, he never restricted himself.
Just like when he was younger, his father wanted him to join the guard team or enter politics, but his heart was into music, so he followed his passion and stubbornly chose the path of art.
Everyone who knew him and understood the Carter Family was perplexed and surprised by the path he had chosen.
In others eyes, as the eldest son and only son of Minister Carter, he should have followed in Minister Carter’s footsteps.
However, he didn’t.
"How could I?" Jane Sampson quickly waved her hands, "Mr. Carter, thank you."
Yesterday, when the accident happened, if it hadn’t been for Minister Carter being at the scene, comforting her, and engaging her in conversation, she wouldn’t know how scared she would have been while waiting to co to the hospital.
Later, Jas Carter arrived.
He gave her an added sense of security in this unfamiliar hospital.
So, when she fell asleep yesterday, she was able to close her eyes and sleep soundly because she knew she wasn’t alone here.
Jane Sampson was very grateful to Jas Carter and Father Carter for their warmth, which allowed her to bravely face everything that had happened yesterday and to lie peacefully in the strange ward to rest well.
"We’re friends, and if you really want to thank , just finish this soup and rice," Jas Carter pointed to Jane Sampson’s bowl. "We’ve talked for a while now, and the soup has gotten cold. Eat up."
Jane Sampson humd a response, cradling the bowl and began to eat heartily with the spoon.
Even if it weren’t to keep Mr. Carter from being disappointed, she intended to finish the half bowl of soup and rice that Mr. Carter had personally prepared for her.
Coco Edwards was international due to a schedule that had been agreed upon earlier, so she couldn’t rush back at that mont, but even though she hadn’t returned, she still sent two new assistants from the studio to take care of Coco Edwards and Jane Sampson.
The two new assistants, Harry Little Money and Lucy Brisk, arrived at noon the next day. When they arrived, Jane Sampson was discussing with Jas Carter the visit next door to see Coco Edwards.
Harry Little Money and Lucy Brisk were new additions to Rock Bell’s studio, but they were not newcors in terms of work.
"Sister Jane."
Harry Little Money, leading the way, pushed open the ward door and entered first, with Lucy Brisk following behind. Upon entering, they greeted Jane Sampson in the house and continued chatting until they realized Jas Carter was also in the ward. Both were slightly taken aback but didn’t ask any questions, and then proceeded to greet Jas Carter.
