Jas Black could tell just by looking that Jane Sampson was craving more than usual, but he guessed that part of that craving was probably hunger.
It was well past lunchti now, and it should have been ti for afternoon tea.
At the hotel, Jane had been ruffled by him for quite a while, expending a lot of energy, and having not yet had lunch, she must have been starving.
Perhaps before, Jas didn’t know Jane’s taste or what she liked to eat, but now, after spending so much ti with Jane day and night and paying close attention, he knew her preferences like the back of his hand.
Almost everything cooking in the pot was what Jane liked to eat. Watching Jane devour her food, Jas leaned back with a smile playing on his lips, and gradually added more stuff to her bowl.
It’s said that one sentence could sum it up:
The extent to which one person understands another is evident by how much they care when they are together.
Actually, understanding Jane was not difficult at all.
"It’s a bit hot, eat slowly," Jas reminded Jane in a low voice as he picked up a piece of beef for her, "You can dip the beef into the stack of sauces next to you; it tastes very good."
"Mmm~" Jane nodded and blew on the piece of beef held by Jas’s chopsticks before biting into it from his chopsticks.
"You really are becoming lazy," Jas teased with a laugh.
"Hehe," Jane gave Jas a cheeky smile, then pointed at his empty bowl and said, "You should eat too, don’t just keep serving . I have a right hand; I can pick what I want to eat myself. If you say I am lazy, then sure, I’m lazy, but it’s because you spoil ."
After saying this, Jane heaped half a bowl of vegetables into Jas’s bowl and then started eating from her own.
"Is it tasty?" Jane curiously asked Jas as she watched him dipping his food in the sauce.
"Mm," Jas pretended not to notice the gleaming pair of eyes across from him and casually replied, then he asked Jane the sa question, "Is it tasty?"
Unlike Jas’s sowhat indifferent answer, Jane’s was much more heartfelt.
"Super delicious!" Jane said proudly, "I bet Nina hasn’t tried this place. I’m going to show off to her when I get back, she was way too smug before."
However, as Jane spoke, her eyes kept fixed on the bowl of sauce by Jas’s hand. She couldn’t help but ask, "How spicy is it?"
"Have you heard how famous King Town’s hotpot is? So, how spicy do you think King Town’s chili peppers are?" Jas knew all too well the word ’desire’ that was written all over Jane’s gaze.
But, he couldn’t let her eat it. If she did, she may not see tomorrow, and might spend tonight at midnight suffering in the public restroom, then pitifully hold her belly and tell him she’s in pain.
It was a problem with Jane’s constitution; it couldn’t be changed, so all Jas could do was to keep her away from it.
"You make a fair point," Jane agreed with a hum, bit into a beef ball from her bowl with a look of pleasant surprise, and pointed out to Jas, "This beef ball is super tasty!"
"That’s one of Sister Shaw’s shop specialties," Jas said with a smile, "Your taste buds are pretty strong."
"That they are!" Jane seed over the moon, "Turn around and grab that plate of tofu from behind you. Put two pieces of tofu in the pot to cook; this kind of aged tofu gets better the longer it’s cooked."
Jas humd in acknowledgnt and turned around.
But the next second, as if suddenly rembering sothing, he quickly turned back.
