Sure enough, Jas Black saw those restless chopsticks poking around in his dipping sauce bowl, and the owner of the chopsticks seed completely unaware of his watchful gaze.
"Jane Sampson!" Jas Black nearly growled her na through clenched teeth.
Such a mischievous mind—she couldn’t be left unwatched for even one second.
Oops! Caught.
Jane’s hand froze abruptly, and she lifted her eyes to look at Jas Black, her face filled with guilt, "Weren’t you getting tofu? Where’s the tofu?"
Jas Black ignored Jane completely, took the chopsticks from her hand, and handed her a new pair.
Knowing she was at fault, Jane took the new chopsticks without a word and obediently lowered her head to eat whatever Jas Black put into her bowl, not daring to bring up the tofu again.
But the more she couldn’t have it, the more Jane wanted to eat the stuff right in front of her eyes.
Spicy— a flavor she hadn’t tasted in such a long ti.
Had it been half a year? She hadn’t eaten spicy strips since.
Jas Black kept her on such a tight leash that there was nowhere in the house to hide any spicy strips.
Back then, when she learned that the film crew would be stopping at King Town, she and Coco Edwards had excitedly planned to indulge in King Town’s famous spicy hotpot.
But now Coco was lying in the hospital, unable to co to King Town.
And there Jane was, she had made it to King Town, seen the chili peppers, but hadn’t even sniffed the aroma, let alone tasted it.
There was a saying on the internet,
"What’s the point of coming to King Town if you don’t try King Town’s chili? Is it any different from not coming at all?"
So, Jane asked herself with her hand pressed to her forehead, what was the point of coming to King Town, if there was no difference from not coming?
Jane glanced at Jas Black, and just then, he was dipping a slice of beef in the sauce and bringing it to his mouth.
Scratching her head, Jane thought for a mont, then suddenly stood up with her bowl and sat down next to Jas Black, "As husband and wife, sitting face-to-face across the table seems a bit distant. It’s much warr to sit close together like this."
Initially, Jas Black had sat next to Jane, but had moved across the table to serve the ingredients and to make it easier to pick out food for her.
When Jane moved over with her tableware, Jas Black didn’t say anything, just slid over a little to make room for her.
Of course, Jas Black didn’t believe a single punctuation mark of the explanation that Jane had given.
Without even having to count on his fingers, Jas Black knew that Jane must be scheming sothing in her heart.
After Jane sat down, she beca exceptionally diligent, replacing Jas Black’s efforts and adding lots of at and vegetables to the pot. When it was ready to eat, she kept adding food to Jas Black’s bowl.
Just like how Jas Black had taken care of her at the start, she loaded up his bowl to the brim.
Jas Black glanced at his mountainous bowl and chuckled lightly, "Switching to flattery mode now?"
"What are you talking about?" Jane looked up at Jas Black, her eyes brimming with confusion as if she really didn’t understand what he was saying.
"Never mind," considering the situation, Jas Black thought he might have overthought it. Seeing her expression, she genuinely didn’t seem to be up to sothing.
"You should eat quickly, or there won’t be space left in the bowl," Jane urged as she pushed Jas Black’s arm.
Finally, Jas Black began to eat.
However, a few seconds later...
Jas Black found himself completely out of patience thanks to the tantalizing Jane.
