Jas Carter sat there for a long ti, unable to co to his senses. He simply couldn’t understand why his sister, Jillian Carter, who was supposed to be studying abroad, could be in King Town.
Moreover, looking at the resu, she had no experience of studying internationally at all.
After reading the resu, Jas Carter’s first reaction was to take out his mobile phone and call Jillian Carter.
Only...
The phone number was ready, but after thinking it over, Jas Carter ultimately let out a deep sigh and instead called his father, who was nearby in King Town.
Father Carter was at that mont visiting the grassroots. Receiving a call from Jas this ti, Father Carter was startled.
Jas was his eldest son and had always been independent. Usually, Jas wouldn’t call him unless there was a matter of importance.
Thinking this, Father Carter excused himself to the people by his side and moved to a secluded corner to answer the phone, greeting with, "What’s the matter?"
"Dad, Jillian is in King Town." Jas Carter didn’t beat around the bush, directly informing Father Carter of Jillian’s presence in King Town.
In the family, Jillian and the father were the closest because Jillian was a girl, and Father Carter doted on her more than anyone else in the house. So many tis, Father Carter had more influence over Jillian than anyone else at ho.
Therefore, instead of calling Jillian himself, Jas chose to call his father.
"How is that possible?" Father Carter didn’t believe it for a bit, "That little lass just called last night, she hasn’t been able to co back yet. She ntioned she planned to return, but her graduation thesis had so issues, so she’s delayed now. How could Jillian possibly co back to King Town early without telling us?"
"Dad, it’s not that Jillian ca back to the country early without telling us; she never went abroad at all. She’s been in King Town for several years now. Counting back the ti, when Mom asked her to study abroad, she must have only been abroad for two days before she ca straight back and settled down in King Town. She’s now working as a news reporter at a newspaper office in King Town. A friend of mine saw her there, told about it, and I didn’t believe it. So I asked my friend to investigate, and sure enough, he found the resu she submitted when she applied for the job."
Who would believe such a thing at first?
A person who was supposed to be studying abroad had been living alone in King Town for so many years, deceiving everyone?
She had deceived her parents, her brother, for three whole years.
If Jane Sampson hadn’t fortuitously encountered Jillian Carter in King Town today, Jas didn’t know how Jillian would eventually continue the deception.
After graduating, would she have to find soone to make a fake diploma?
Father Carter furrowed his brow, his first reaction was, "Why would she lie to us? Since she’s dostically, why wouldn’t she co ho? If she truly didn’t want to study abroad, she could have just told us; we surely couldn’t have forced her to go, could we?"
"Dad, I don’t know either," Jas Carter sighed helplessly, "Ever since the incident in the past, she hasn’t been as close to as when we were kids. Claiming to be studying abroad, most of the ti, it was taking the initiative to call and check on her; she rarely ever called , her brother."
"No wonder before I returned to the country, when I said I wanted to visit her school to see her, she wouldn’t allow to go. At that ti, I thought she was still feeling guilty about the past and didn’t dare to et , so I didn’t dare to visit her school and just returned to the country by myself." Jas Carter continued, "Now it seems, she was never at the school at all."
