"I will have a good talk with her," Father Carter said, "ask your friend not to startle her for now. If she gets spooked, God knows where she would run off to. The older she gets, the more she worries ."
Jas Carter hmm’ed, then hung up the phone. After a mont of thought, he called Jane Sampson.
Jane was holding her mobile phone, so she answered it instantly.
"Mr. Carter," Jane’s voice sweetly called out.
"Little Jane, when you saw Jillian, did she ask anything about ?" Jas Carter asked. "Everyone in our circle knows how close you and I are. I’m wondering if she realizes that you’ve recognized her."
"She never asked, so I guess she probably never thought I would recognize her," Jane replied. "If it hadn’t been for seeing your family photo just in ti that day, even knowing that Mr. Carter has a sister and being friends with you, I wouldn’t have connected her to it."
"That’s good. If you et her again, I hope you can help out by pretending you don’t recognize her. If she doesn’t bring it up, don’t ntion . If she does, she’s probably just testing you, and just act like you don’t know," Jas Carter earnestly requested. "Is that okay?"
"No problem," Jane quickly nodded in agreent, although she didn’t know why but didn’t ask for the reason.
However, thinking of Jillian’s feelings for Jas Black, Jane bit her lip, opened her mouth to call out to Jas Carter, and said, "Mr. Carter, if your sister and I had a fight, would you break off our friendship?"
Jas Carter was quite surprised; he hadn’t expected Jane to suddenly ask such a question.
"She’s been spoiled in the house since she was young, so she might be a bit difficult to deal with. If she makes you angry, you can talk to about it. If she’s wrong, I’ll definitely have her apologize to you."
The implication of his words was, if it really ca to a fight, he hoped Jane could be a little more forgiving of Jillian at that ti. Jane’s feelings were hard to describe.
Although she felt a slight disappointnt, she also found it quite normal after all, Jillian was Jas Carter’s younger sister.
Mr. Carter, such a gentle person, must be a brother who loved his sister dearly.
Jane wanted to ntion Jas Black, but then she thought about it; Jas Black wouldn’t stay in King Town for more than two days, and she probably wouldn’t see Jillian every day either. So, so things, Jane hid back in her heart.
"Okay," Jane responded softly.
Jas Carter breathed a sigh of relief and thanked her.
"However, if she really goes too far, you don’t need to tolerate her for my sake. Just do what you need to do," Jas Carter said. "I don’t want to make her unhappy, but I can’t let you swallow your grievances alone. It’s sowhat unfair to you."
"Mhm," Jane agreed.
After hanging up the phone, Jane quietly put her mobile away and slumped against Jas Black’s body, rubbing her face against his arm, seemingly a bit mopey and not too happy.
Jas Black was sitting next to Jane, so he heard everything Jas Carter and Jane had said.
Naturally, Jas Black also knew that Jane was a bit unhappy because of Jas Carter.
His broad palm gently stroked her cheek and he asked in a deep voice, "Am I more important, or is your Mr. Carter?"
"Huh?" Jane looked up. "Why ask such a strange question all of a sudden?"
