Jane Sampson had grown up.

Although she wasn’t as strong as he thought, she wasn’t that fragile either, not to the extent of breaking at the slightest touch.

That’s true.

Why be fragile?

She had him.

Jas Black paid the fare and took Jane’s hand as they stepped out of the car, just as he had described—the night market on the ancient street had far fewer tourists than what Jane had discovered online.

But all the ancient buildings here were beautiful.

As the night lights began to glow, the light dimd along the river, reflecting off the water surface in glittering waves, casting a dreamy light on the neon signs along the riverside.

There was a bridge over the river, and at its head stood a massive tree Jane couldn’t na, adorned with many pieces of red cloth, while the bridge itself was lined with red lanterns.

As they approached, breathing in the fragrant air and observing the fallen flowers under the tree, Jane turned to Jas in surprise and exclaid, "It’s an osmanthus tree! No wonder I slled the fragrance of osmanthus as soon as I approached the old street, but I couldn’t see where the tree was."

"This is a hundred-year-old laurel tree." Jas smiled gently. "Legend has it that when the matchmaker god from heaven visited earth, he planted this tree while passing through this street. Many eligible n and won in King Town co here to throw red silk onto this laurel tree, writing their nas and those of their loved ones on the silk. Legend says that if the matchmaker god sees it, he will tie a red thread for them, blessing them with a lifeti of happiness together."

Jane gasped in awe, thinking to herself that she seldom heard Jas talk so much at once. She hadn’t expected that such a cool, reserved person could speak of such stories with such sincerity.

"That bridge is called Laurel Bridge, also known as Lovers’ Bridge," Jas pointed to a stone tablet next to the bridge. "It’s said that the matchmaker god built this bridge with his magic. Lovers who cross this bridge are destined to find each other in three lives, three worlds, and will enjoy complete and fulfilling lives together," he explained, pointing at the stone tablet by the bridge. "It’s engraved with characters."

Jane glanced at the stone tablet, indeed, just as Jas had said.

Before Jane could read all the words on the stone tablet, Jas suddenly tugged at her hand.

He said, "Let’s go, let’s check out the other side of the river."

Then Jane, a bit bewildered, was led onto Laurel Bridge by Jas.

People who had walked hurriedly before the bridge now slowed down after stepping onto the bridge, walking slowly, bit by bit.

His gaze was on the river, but he was still talking to Jane.

He said, "The breeze on the bridge is quite comfortable; we’re not in a rush, let’s walk slowly."

Jane’s eyes sparkled even more brightly than the lights.

Clearly harboring ulterior motives, yet he still maintained a serious face and earnest tone as he explained this obvious thing to her.

"Jas~" Jane called out in a tender voice to the person by her side, "do you want us to have a bond that lasts three lives? Do you really love that much?"

Jas paused slightly in his steps.

Finally, he shifted his gaze from the river, turned his head, looked down, and saw Jane, who was holding his arm, smiling brightly.

"Yes," Jas confessed directly.

This ti, it was Jane’s turn to be stunned, but it was only for a mont.

Soon, her laughter rang out clear and crisp, and her entire deanor beca more vibrant, with the joy on the corners of her lips so evident that it couldn’t be hidden or suppressed.
